Guest RR Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Hey guys, I had posted this in Hot Spots, but think that was the wrong place so here goes again. Hey guys, we have so many choices for hotels in South Beach. I know where I would like to stay, but next weekend I have the opportunity to go to South Beach with about 10 hot guys from the local gay scene. I was invited to go and keep them in line at most are 21 or 22. Mind you I am only 31! What a joy for me! Anyway I offered to get us rooms at my favorite hotel, but being the responsible young guys there are they dont want me to pay for the rooms, just chip in with them.... So I need some suggestions for moderate budget wise hotels in South Beach on Collins Ave or Ocean Dr. I looked at the net and on the travel sites but it is so hard to pick one when you never stayed there and with South Beach they can look decent on the net and horrible when you get there, Any suggestions guys? Even 2 big suites would work instead of a bunch of rooms. I think that is what they want anyway so the party can carry on non stop! Thanks! RussianRob Quote
Guest Conway Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 The Ocean Drive Hotels can be terribly expensive. Though it seems hotels in nearly every destination location are that way these days. Your best bet would be to seek out some of the smaller hotels on Collins Avenue if you're looking for a real bargain. They're just slightluy more than a block from the Beach, have sufficient amenities, and cost only a fraction of what their beachfront neighbors do. Here's a good article to start learning a bit more about them: http://www.southbeach-usa.com/features/fea...beach-99003.htm Quote
cougar Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Several months ago, I stayed at the Marriot Courtyard on Washington Ave (1500 Block). Not exactly on the beach, about 3-4 blocks in, but in a great central south beach location and the room was like 125 a night. The hotel was recently renovated with a pool on the roof and I would stay there again. But usually I stay on the Mainland somewhere since I am from Miami and that way it is easier for me to drive from place to place since I usually avoid the tourist areas including the beach. Quote
Members seaboy4hire Posted October 30, 2006 Members Posted October 30, 2006 Hotel Clinton is a nice hotel. I was there a couple years ago so not sure how it is now but it was a nice hotel ok sized rooms, simple yet tactful decor, nice hotel staff, only a couple blocks from the beach at the most and big showers. Gotta conserve that water }( Hugs, Greg Quote
Guest RR Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Thanks guys, I have stayed at the Clinton and I liked it also. I think the boys picked the Winterhaven because of the free happy hour each night and you can drink as much as you want that 2 hours as long as you tip the bar guys........ It would not of been my pick but hell I will do anything to spend the weekend with these sexy boys in my rooms........Hopefully they will end up in my bed too! Quote
Guest Funseeker22 Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 HMMMM !, Since you`re kinda young too maybe a Daddy Figure is needed to keep you boys in line ?. :* . Since TY hasn`t offered then give me a shout. Of course I`ll have to fly from the Left Coast but I`m going to be in Miami on 11/8 anyway so I can reschedule. (wink * Quote
Guest RR Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Yes , I am not the daddy figure. But, we just arrive and I am sure it will be a blast. The guys finally agreed to let me take care of the rooms so we are at the Delano and they are in awe! First plus for me! I am sure it will be a great weekend, we are headed to the beach now and then to dinner at Emerals then off to Nikki Beach for the VIP treatment hopefully. I think we will go to Fort Lauderdale gay clubs tomorrow night. Quote
Guest fourjogran Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Have stayed at Holiday Inn Resort on Collins. Right on the beach with all amenities. Good location. Not far from Lincoln and all restaurants. Not cheap but worth it since has all young guys would enjoy. Quote
