Guest BewareofNick Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Well, "daddy" has announced the official opening of daddysreviews.com, billed as the successor to Hooboy's M4M. The whole release is SO hilarious that I can't believe even they take it seriously. Here are some of the highlights: Fans and visitors of the site have been characteristically vocal throughout the process. Says Daddy, “I have been totally amazed with the response that I've had from a select group of people who showed up and all they wanted to know was: ‘How can I help?’” “I have several people that literally wait until I do the daily upload and then carefully start combing through the site looking for problems and sending in feedback. There’s been very little controversy and some outstanding discussions when I showed them the direction that I wanted to go with the site.” Very little controversy? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Of course, over at their meesage center, controversy is not allowed nor is dissent. The controversy has come outside their little version of Planet Bush, whether it be the way they took the site from Foxy or the dispute they had with the estate. Of course, #1 apologist deej has been over here spinning revisionist history as he always does. I do believe though that those volunteers do exist, I mean look at how long deej slaved for Hooboy FOR FREE. In a rather stunning surprise, even before opening for business the new site was nominated for a “Best of the Web” award in the 2006 Cybersocket Awards (http://www.cybersocketwebawards.com). “I'm really honored to be nominated, but given that it happened while we're still implementing the site I really have to consider it a tribute (really, as the whole site is) to Hooboy. Hooboy would have been tremendously excited about it”. Hooboy would have yawned. He knew these so called awards are just a bunch of horsecrap. Wonder how much "daddy" paid for the nomination? Popular escort Jon Ramsey wrote “Personally, [the site] has been a huge part of my success through many years. Not only have my reviews served to attract business, more importantly they put me in touch with men searching for a compassionate understanding man to safely experience new things” and “I am excited to see the results of your efforts on the new site. I imagine you carry quite a weight on your shoulders, knowing that your website is important in the lives of many people.” "Daddy", the Mother Theresa of the escort world. I am sure the weight on his shoulders is lessening as the money comes rolling in. Another popular escort, Jake Walker, wrote: “I have no doubt that [Hooboy] would have wanted it to continue. He was always smart enough to know that one's ego should never get in the way of the business.” It is in that spirit that the new site carries the dedication “In the Hooboy Tradition”. Yes, Hooboy wanted it to continue, but he wanted Foxy to be the beneficiary. Daddy and deej made sure that they were the beneficiaries. The site carrying on in Hooboy's tradition is MER. And of course, the BIGGEST LOAD of all: The site’s design is based on a prototype selected by Hooboy himself during an Independence Day visit in 2004, as part of a long-term plan for the site developed between Hooboy and Daddy. Like Hooboy would want to go from an easy to navigate site to a monstrous nightmare. More than likely this was part of A master plan, considering that daddysreviews was created as a domain name well before Hooboy's death. Read into that what you will. Good luck daddy and deej. Quote
Members TampaYankee Posted September 18, 2006 Members Posted September 18, 2006 I want to congratulate daddy on a gargantuan job of developing a site from semi-scratch in less than seven weeks. As he says, "there is more to do", nevertheless it is a great effort that took a lot of hard work. I look forward to viewing the coming enhancements. Good luck to him. Quote
Members Buddy2 Posted September 18, 2006 Members Posted September 18, 2006 I also want to congratulate daddy and wish the new site good luck. Let's also move on from speculating on HooBoy's heirs and closest friends. Rico got it right: Whatever HooBoy's wishes may have been for the future, they mean nothing if he did not leave a will. As it likely quite obvious from my postings, I have mixed feelings about wishing the other site well. But my reasons are really much more basic and practical.... On the one hand, I want it to succeed because it is a great resource in an area that I am interested in. There's a lot of info there, and a lot of people contributing daily to that data base. I admit that in spite of my personal (hardheaded) resolve never to post there again... I definitely do "look" there again! lol On the other hand, it's been (in my opinion) a very customer unfriendly and disloyal (to the customer) site. And for a site that was truly built on the contributions of the readership, I have a hard time with that. So... it's like having a restaurant in your neighborhood that has the GREAT food, but the biggest assholes as management (like they make like they are doing you the hugest favor by giving you a table). Of course you want the restaurant to succeed so you can eat their food, but you also simultaneously hope the management gets theirs. Everyone has their own way of dealing with dilemmas like that... but if you are curious what I would do... I usually end up not eating at restaurants like that. And yes, I grumble about it loudly to my friends too! Quote
TotallyOz Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 I just read the posting here about DaddysReviews. I also read the message center over there. All I will say is that I much prefer someone rational like Rico over Rockhard any day of the week. With his last post, Rock really does tell a great deal about himself in the post and it is really nice to see an old friend back in true form. For someone who only joined the site after Hoo’s death, he sure knows a lot about the site and the personalities there beforehand. Am I the only one that thinks it is odd that he reappeared just as Daddy and Deej got the site together? I actually was not going to comment on the site other than to say that I wish them all well. However, when I read that they were actually going to use the reviews predating Hoo’s death, I decided against it. I assume this would only happen if they knew the estate would not get into a very costly battle with the estate property. I know it is not that they have permission from the estate, so I hope that they do not use that material. Like Daddy, I too have all those reviews and if it is public information for others outside the estate to use then perhaps there is a place for the archives here as well. Lastly, Rockhard keeps bringing up that I made public information about the estate. What a joke this is. If you honestly thought you would steal the site and not get called out on it, you were wrong. If things had ever been on the up and up, I would have kept my mouth shut. However, they were not. I refused to keep quiet and not share information about people plundering my friends intellectual property. I refused then. I do so now. I will never keep silent about it. Rock is just lucky I did not share all I know about the situation and the BS behind the scenes. The only things I ever spoke about publicly needed to be said. Many things I know that happened with the estate and Daddy I did not reveal. I will only say that even I (who many see as evil incarnate) was disgusted by the madness of the grave robbers. Quote

I think in this case Rico had it right as well. I'm guessing Hooboy shared his thoughts on the subject with others, especially what he had hoped to see for Milan, but he should have had a will. Daddy's site is interesting. He basically has used the same thing Hooboy designed gave it a little face-lift and slapped his name in the url. Not sure at all about the legal issues as to who owned the message center. I do know Hooboy wrote several times that the message center was daddys but as to monitor it or owning it I have no clue. I agree full with OZ that if daddy is going to publish the reviews prior to Hooboy's passing then he is doing so without permission. If OZ has the reviews I hope he decides to setup an archive of them here as well since they apparently are no longer owned by anyone. It's hard to believe that daddy and deej are truly acting in good faith. Far more weight must be given to OZ & Firecat and others who we all know hung out with Hooboy (just read some of Hooboy's posts about their fun). In any event I really don't care much what happens on daddydeej new site. Bottom line MER will become the number one destination for client and escort interaction and Rockhard's fifteen minutes will long be over. Quote
TotallyOz Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 PS. My favorite Rockhard quote ever is: "Smarter, more professional businessmen would have kept their mouth shut." LOL Thanks Rock. The advice from a very successful businessman like yourself is much appreciated. Quote
Guest SevenInBNA Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 I didn't realize Rita Skeeter from "Harry Potter" was writing press releases for escort review sites. Quote
AdamSmith Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 >"Smarter, more professional businessmen would have kept >their mouth shut." A condition which, as you noted, one waits in vain for RockHard to achieve. Quote
