Members Casteran Posted March 28, 2006 Members Posted March 28, 2006 Ok, am I the only one that found Brokeback Mountain one of the most boring movies of all time? Not quite sure why so many awards and why the hype. The short story was much more interesting. Quote
Members marcanthony Posted March 28, 2006 Members Posted March 28, 2006 LOL... I couldn't tell you, since I am probably the only gay person in the United States who hasn't seen it! :7 :7 Quote
Guest Conway Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 You know, I'm glad somebody else raised this issue. I was stuck in a hotel room last week and decided top order it. Heath Ledger did a great job playing Ennis. Otherwise the film nearly put me to sleep. I know that it is supposed to be more engaging than exciting. However, I found it to be neither. I don't understand what all of the fuss was about. Quote
Guest alexP Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 Now this is funny. There is this thing called "taste" and if you are into doomed love stories, then brokeback mountain is for you, otherwise you better leave it. It has absolutely nothing to do with gay or not gay. Reminds me somewhat when Barbra Streisand published Yentle. All of the sudden dykes worldwide ran into the movies and where extremely disappointed when finding out that it wasn't a lesbian love story... Greeters.... Quote
Guest stef Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 I was very eager to see it as I have heard so much good things about the movie. So I finally got to the theater 2 weeks ago in Vancouver ( thanks as it was still playing ) , order popcorn and a nice Huge ice tea and sat. Take it this way, I usually am done with the popcorn and drink by half of the movie if it is of any good or excitement. For this movie, I did not even finish it. It was a good story, well played but it seems I spent the whole night there.. It wasn't boring but I was expecting more of it because of all those awards and Great Reviews.... Good to watch on TV. Guest straycat Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 I rented the movie this weekend. It was one of the most boring films I've seen in a long time. The vistas were beautiful but that wasn't enough to hold my interest. The sex scenes were ridiculous and the so-called love story completely void of any true emotion. Did anyone else think that Jake looked like a refugee from the Village People near the end of the film? He reminded me of the cowboy.(back row right in the pic below http://www.wegotbruce.com/Village%20People.jpg http://www.moviereporter.net/fotos/brokeba...Mountain_07.jpg Quote
