Members Casteran Posted January 24, 2006 Members Posted January 24, 2006 I keep hearing this Firefox dialogue - what is Firefox? Quote
Guest BostonGuy Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Firefox is a browser, like Internet Explorer. But it's a much better browser than IE. It has a rich feature set that includes tabbed browsing. It's also extensible and there are lots and lots of extensions to it that can be downloaded and installed quickly and painlessly. Best of all, it's free. :-) BG http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ Quote
Guest eastburbguy Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 I'll echo BG's accolades. If an advancing middle-aged tech dummy like me can use it, anyone can. Forget Internet Explorer - switch to Firefox! Just be sure to stick to version 1.0 for now!! Quote
Guest Conway Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 My only dislike with Firefox is that it causes adobe acrobat pages to hang up. I end up having to control-alt-delete my way out of them. Anyone have a way to get around that? Quote
Guest BostonGuy Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Hmmmm... have you updated Acrobat recently? If not, you might try doing that. It might solve the problem. FF should coexist with Firefox without any real problems. The latest version is 6.0 (I think; I won't vouch for that). BG Quote
Guest eastburbguy Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 I've never had a problem with Firefox and Abode Acrobat. If Adobe needs an update, I always get a prompt to download before proceeding. Quote
