Guest marcanthony1
Whenever I try to post, it leaves the "Name" line blank. If I leave it blank, it refuses to allow the post. If I type my screen name, it says there is already a usere with that name. So I typed a variation of my name. Letting you know... something's amiss. Guest marcanthony1
it's also interesting that you can post without being a member, because I just made up a name and it allowed my post.

I wasn't clever enough to try a different name as you did. Are you by any chance using a Mac with the Safari browser? My workaround was to use my Internet Explorer browser to post, or to send a PM. For some reason, IE works fine. Safari started misbehaving just after the server upgrade.
Guest marcanthony1
No... using IE browser. Still can't post. Thanks for your input though... it may help their programmers figure out what's wrong.
Members TampaYankee
I apologize to all for the glitch. It has to do with the single login for both forum and site. It was an issue in the beginning and it remained chronically 'touchy' but we managed to get by until the big hack 'n crash. Then it became acute once again. Since the crash I haven't had the programmers to address the issue what with server moves and the like. Now I have the support but must decide whether to invest the manpower in an open dark pit just to throw it out in a few weeks with new software that we have acquired on OR move ahead with the new replacement. When the forum software doesnt recognize, I have been advising members to try logging out and then back in but only from the Home Page. Then try again. If that doesnt work then kill the cookies and restart the browser. Or we can descend into the pit without guarantee of outcome and delay the replacement. Guest marcanthony1
Thanks for the explanation.... though I have tried all of those things except throwing away all my cookies (which I will have to think about if i want to do that and have to re-enter all my usernames, passwords, etc that I have saved on my computer). However, still curious why it will let me post with a made up name. Didn't you have to be a site member to actually post in this forum, or is that not true? I was reluctant to throw away all my cookies too but, thanks to a comment made by PWIT on another thread, I remembered that I can throw away individual cookies rather than all of them. I found four cookies for the MER site, threw them away, and here I am posting again, good as new. For those using the Mac Safari browser, you can click Safari/Preferences/Security and then "Show Cookies". All your cookies will be listed by website (in alphabetical order). Delete the ones for the maleescortreview.com website, and you should be back in business. (Other browsers may store cookies elsewhere; your Help Menu should tell you where.) I did have to log into the MER site again, but I didn't have to restart the browser or do anything else. Pretty simple.
Members marcanthony
Haha... thanks, Lookin. I did what you suggested and only deleted the MER cookies and I am back in business! Thanks
Members marcanthony
And btw...I did this with Internet Explorer: Tools: Internet Options: General: Settings: View files: then select and delete individual cookies.
