Guest straycat Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 This morning I once again had to login twice. I'm using Internet Explorer this day and cannot find any logical reason why this is happening so sporadically. It isn't a huge ordeal just want to let the admins know that there is still integration work to be done :) Quote

I've found that >I can stay logged on here for several days, BG I suspect you too might experience the same issues if you log off after each session. I do log off after each session for privacy concerns. I don't want those who have access to my computer to happen upon this site plus have access to my account. This is most likely the same reason others log off as well. Quote
Members TampaYankee Posted February 22, 2006 Author Members Posted February 22, 2006 Our software integraion with dcforum for a single-login process requires that the software set everyone's 'Remember My Login' flag properly and that the flag be maintained over time. The observed forum behavior over all active members that respond indicates that this process is not working consistently. We have been unable to ascertain the cause and implement a fix to achieve the required reliability. As our final 11th hour attempt to save dcforum, we are asking members encountering the double login problem to perform the second login and use the check box for 'Remember My Login' . If the user can manually set this and that eliinates the need for a second login in subsequent visits then that may provide an acceptable, if not ideal, workaround. So please, if prompted, perform the second login and manually set 'remember my login'. Also please provide feedback on your experience over the next week. This manual process should only be necessary once and not every time or most times for this to be deemed an acceptable workaround. Our present position is to replace dcforums if this manual process does not provide an acceptable workaround. So please provide feedback. Thanks for your patience and support. Quote

TotallyOz Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Ok guys. The programmers have tried to upload new fixes one more time. They asked that we please try the Forum again. If this is not successful, we will go with another forum board software package. I do apologize deeply for this. We had wanted to keep the DCForum but the programmers have now put in over 200 hours on this issue alone. That is about the same cost as it would have been to make the board from scratch. So, please test tonight and if the new updates work, I will party hard in Rio tonight. If they don't, I may party too hard and that is never a pretty sight. Thanks! Oz Quote
