Guest straycat Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Not sure if this is just happening to me or others .... I have no issue signing in and posting when using IE. However, when I try to post using Firefox I keep getting booted back to the sign in page. When I check under who is online it shows I'm signed in ;( Just want to bring this to the tech godz attention :7 Quote
Guest BostonGuy Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 The problem is that it doesn't recognize you as being logged in -- even if you log in using the Login link on the toolbar. This error also affects the results shown by the "read new" link. There is a workaround, though: 1. Click on Forums 2. Click on one of the Forums (i.e., Pub) 3. Click on Post 4. It will display a login screen. If you login there, you will be truly logged in and everything should then work ok for you. However, it will only last for a short time, since they have the login timeout setting set to a short interval. BG Quote
Guest straycat Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 BG thanks for the suggestion but that isn't the solution I log in both to the site and then subsequently log in (as you noted) to the forums. The problem is when using Firefox I cannot post as DC forums doesn't seem to recognize that I'm logged in. For example if I were using Firefox now and went to hit Post Message I would be taken to the forum login screen. I know it is all very bizarre, but some say bizarre looks good on me Quote
Guest BostonGuy Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 I also use Firefox. Once I hit post, I'm taken to the forum login screen. After I log in there, then all is well. Sorry that isn't the solution to the problem you are encountering. BG Quote
Members TampaYankee Posted January 17, 2006 Members Posted January 17, 2006 Straycat, Sorry for the glitch. It has effectively locked me out of posting since my Five Questions post. It has been very frustrating for me so I definitely can sympathize with you. BG, thanks for throwing some additional light on this issue. It is likely to benefit many others while we get the bumbs smoothed out around here. Frankly I am exstatic that I am now a recognized poster in the community. LOL. Now I can catch up on my posts. Now if only we can get a few other techical glitches solved... TY Quote
Guest eastburbguy Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 FWIW, I use Firefox and I've had no problems posting. I did experience the short login/idle time and still being shown as being logged in, but that was when I tried to view escort profiles. I reported it to mgmt. Quote
