vinapu Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 perhaps due to closed borders they don't have enough Myanmarese and Cambodian workers to continue? Quote
Guest Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 My bet is they have run out of money. Firstly, only the official border crossings are closed. Closing unofficial entry points is another matter. I've met a few workers from Cambodia and Laos, although as you might imagine, not ones who work in the building trade. The last was under an hour ago. Secondly, the Thai government is allowing illegal migrant workers to apply for 2 year visas, subject to certain conditions. Thirdly, as you might expect, Pattaya is enduring some kind of economic depression at present. With very little government support. So, if there were construction jobs, even if 10% of the temporarily unemployed took them up, they could finish the job. Quote
biguyby Posted January 23, 2021 Author Posted January 23, 2021 Thank You z909 it appears to be about the same as the last time I saw it from that angle but a lot of work has definitely been done to the building on the Second Road side of the Mike Mall in the last 15 months since I was last there. Really? I would have expected you to be seeking out workers with a specialist knowledge of erections. biguyby, vinapu and Travellerdave 1 2 Quote
