Guest thrillbill8 Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Rumor has it that there's a new gay bar on soi 33 off from Pattaya-Naklua Rd , almost across from Woodlands. Has anyone checked it out? I suppose it would be for the German population over there... Quote
Gaybutton Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 That seems like a highly unusual place for a gay bar to appear, but we'll see. There are a couple of gay massages in the north Pattaya area, so why not a gay bar too? I'll try to check it out and report about it if someone else doesn't get there before I do. Quote

There is the Kinky Boutique in Soi 33 makers of all things for the 'different' sex market but will look for club next visit.... haha! Quote

Gaybutton Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Ok, I haven't been in there yet, but this morning I was in that area. I drove by to see if I could spot it. Yes, it's definitely there. It's called Loma Bar. I was unable to tell from the outside whether it is a go-go bar or host bar or something else, but it's there. As soon as you get to Soi 33, from the Naklua extension of Second Road, you turn into the soi and it's just beyond the corner on the right. You can't miss it. I'll try to get in there and check it out soon. Quote

You can't miss it. If it's that far out I can't see it surviving very long, unless it is aimed at the Thai market, or is used regularly by farangs who have their own transport (car or motor bike). Last time I visited in that area - NoBody massage in Soi Anantagul (opposite City Hall) - the place seemed to be struggling to survive. I only went there because I knew one of the massage boys from old. The boy told me they were only getting five or six customers on a very good day, and quite often they were lucky to get two or three. He said that everyone who did visit complained it was too far away from Boyztown/Sunee Plaza/Jomtien. It was also very difficult to get to (and from) because most of the baht buses would not go out that far except on 'special hire' charging at least 100 Baht per person from Pattaya Tai area. Quote

Actually, NoBody is surviving quite nicely and a second gay massage opened right next door. Loma, from the outside, appeared to be a place that's been around for quite some time. That Soi 33 has several venues, but from what I saw I think Loma is the only gay venue there. I'll try to get there within the next couple of days. The one I don't get is Cartier. I have no idea how they intend to survive. From what I understand, hardly anyone is going there and it is in a bizarre location for a gay bar. Nevertheless, they're still there. Quote
Guest buaseng Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Actually, NoBody is surviving quite nicely and a second gay massage opened right next door. Very pleased to hear it. I will go there again (even suffering the transportation difficulties) as I found it a far more welcoming esablishment than others I have tried in the Boyztown/Day-Night area. You can guess I am a massage freak and usually have two a day - one on the beach and then an oil/cream or four hands massage in the early evening! Quote
Gaybutton Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 You can guess I am a massage freak and usually have two a day - one on the beach and then an oil/cream or four hands massage in the early evening! With all those massages, you must be getting to be like Kobe beef by now. Between the two massage choices, I think NoBody is the better of the two and it's also a little less expensive than the other one, the name of which escapes me at the moment. Even though I live fairly close, I've never been to Madame Ed's other than to simply have a look. Have you been there lately? If yes, what can you tell us? Quote
butterfly Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 i've never been to NoBody, where exactly is it? Quote
Guest thrillbill8 Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 I finally stopped at Loma Bar.. the interior is tastefully done and the staff is friendly...sort of strange in that it is in the middle of German restaurants and lady-bars that can look into the entrance(I'm a shy guy). The place doesn't get going until after 11PM. I like buffed guys so it wasn't my type of "waiters".--Another trip to BKK I guess.. Quote

The owner is a lady but it is definitely a gay place. As thrillbill8 was stating, it gets a little busy just later on at night, but opens till 3 am. It seens the place was totally re-done, that's why they told me. I like the photo on top Pretty cool . Anyway I am not sure how successfull they will get , cause it is not a gay area at all, in fact everybody is watching those entering Loma Bar with a straight strange looking face especially those that are in the restaurant located right on the left side of Loma... anyway who cares.... Gaybutton Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 No one has answered one of the most important questions: What kind of a bar is Loma? Is it strictly a host bar? Is it a go-go bar? I'd would also like to know things such as the drink prices, the number of boys working there, their "off" fee, assuming they even have "off" at all, and their business hours. Regarding the location of the NoBody gay massage, it's in the same complex with the Balcony Restaurant in Pattaya. You can't miss it. You simply enter the driveway, which you have to do no matter how you arrive at the Balcony, and NoBody is right in front of you. To get to Nobody from the Boyztown-Pattayaland area, obviously you do exactly what you would do to get to the Balcony Restaurant. You go north on Second Road until you reach the Dolphin Roundabout. Then you go east on North road (Pattaya Nua). You'll see the sign for the Balcony Restaurant on your left. If you get as far as the Tesco-Lotus shopping center, you missed it and went too far. Quote
Guest buaseng Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 i've never been to NoBody, where exactly is it? It's about 20 metres up on the left hand side of Soi Anantakul, which is virtually directly opposite Pattaya City Hall on Pattaya Nua (Pattaya North Road) Quote

Sorry forgot to answer all that. Went back tonight for a quick stop. Not a Go Go bar at all. More of a karaoke place. They do have dancing show, singing show and drag show when customers are present. Last night and tonight were just basic singing from some of the boys present. Nothing else. Talked to Mister Ball , the person in Charge ( Gay ) and he told me that they have a big opening party Feb 1st. Did not off anyone but it was obvious you could off any of the boys. Not all are gay but most of them are Bi - Gay. They do have one of them that offer massage as well. Drink are expensive compared to a normal host bar. The beer is at 150 bahts each. 69's was 100 each drink. Not sure if the price were high as I was the only one there but tonight I ended up paying 450 for 3 drinks. I took off right after they handed me the microphone to sing Britney Spear. Wouldn't want to wake up in the middle of the night with nightmares.... Mister Ball, also told me that the owner of the bar, also owns the restaurant next door. I was surprised at that as last night , the customers were starring at me and my friend like we were from Jupiter. May be my helmet ? Probably Quote
bkkguy Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 69's was 100 each not bad for a bj - what are the cocktail prices like ;-) bkkguy Quote
Guest ear wig Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Stef thanks so much for the Pictures ,you dont know how amazing it is to see pictures with an Informative post, this is what we all crave, as we use to have before now the lazy people only seem to repeat posts they read on other forums, but cant be bothered to put a picture with it any one can do that, please keep up the Pictures, when you started this channel I thought you was going to make Photos a big part of Information. I know your only in Thailand intermittently like me, taking care of business, but it sure is good to see the guys we all love & miss when away pictures really do tell a million stories. as OLIVER always say, Can We Have Some More Please. As for some one complaining about dirty Toilets, I use to visit a dirty bar where I lived in Spain who knows what was on the floor and the toilet was full of people doing what gay men tend to do, when they see an open opening, new people came bought it spent 100 000 dollars on it like a doctors surgery, no one went they wanted saw dust on the floor,....... ....Id much rather a dirty toilet and nice guys then have to go to the top of a building 3 or 4 floors in some cases a complete fire hazard, with no emergency fire escape terrifying to think they do not make people put in fire stairs or that a farang would allow it to happen, then worry about a toilet that need a bit of paint and fresh smell any day. Also it is not easy to bring along the camera when I go around town Gosh I might be taking way too much picture of beautiful guys in the street I wouldn't have enough space on my disk. Quote
