Guest mgluyas
Hi Guys will be there in 17sleeps. I contacted someone on stickyrice and basically sought someone to spend a couple of days as a guide and friend. They responded with a very descriptive sex available, fine, however this was followed by a long story of family tragedy. What should i do. As callous as it sounds I am going on my first ever holiday for fun and relaxation not to be saddened by Tragedy. I was looking foremost for a guide for the day, if fun happens at night so be it. I will only be in BKK for 4days then Pattaya for 9, when i will travel out extensively Michael P>S Steff what is your advise as well

For me, it is a warning you might just need to find someone else. Might be hard to find someone that will fit your life style right away. Not easy to find someone with whom you will be compatible right away. I know people that takes a couple of trips out here, and then find a great match. But it takes times. It took me at least 4 trips to find someone I like to be with and that i also can trust and that also speak good english. The previous were just all about monney but did not do much. ( Which I understand somehow , but I wasn't in the mood to only deal with such philosophy at that time ). I also did not need someone , so the urge wasn't really there. There are more choices of guys in Pattaya I think ( that's my guess ), so you might just find someone in the first few days with whom you are going to spend severals days with. Just take it easy, don't commit yourself with one person only cause you never know. Also if you do commit with one person and then realize you aren't of any good match, you don't want the guy to be going a little nut on you, because you aren't keeping your promises. I know it sounds strange, but I have had that one time a guy that just became a " Stalker " and could call me like 30 times a day. Anyway .. just take it easy and meet those guy for few hours, over a drink or dinner and see how it goes. Stef
Guest Kregger
This Thai guy has given you the red flag that he is a professional money boy who traffics in most likely fictional tragedies to extract large sums of money from kind hearted, naive, lonely farangs. To him, you are a "buffalo." My advise is do not even meet him.

Gaybutton
I know what I would do, if I were you, Mgluyas. The first thing I would do is forget about this guy. He sounds like definite bad news to me, especially is he is already talking about the family tragedies, which translates into "give me money," before you even get there. You're right. You don't need that and you really don't need a guide either. However, I can certainly understand why you might want one on a first trip. I have a few suggestions for you. The first is to have your hotel arrange a reputable guide for you. Your hotel can also book you for guided tours of the city. The second is to talk to an English speaking taxi driver and make an arrangement. Quite often, people do that and are greatly satisfied. The third, and I think best choice, is to arrange a good, competent, professional gay guide via the Tarntawan Place hotel. That hotel would be an excellent place to stay, especially during your first trip. It's a gay hotel, located within easy walking distance to all the gay action in the Silom, Suriwong, Patpong area and they can arrange excellent guides at reasonable prices who are professional and trustworthy. I guarantee you won't end up with some guy giving you a bunch of sob stories. The URL for the Tarntawan Place is: http://www.tarntawan.com . Guest travelerjim
Enjoy your trip to Thailand... And may I urge you to forget the Thai fella you have been in communication with already ??? The advice shared by others on this board is very good advice! There are so many other fine Thais who can and will provide you with a most enjoyable trip in Thailand. ...And they won't be already setting you up for the "sick buffalo" speech ; "grandmama is very sick" syndrome; or the countless hundreds of other stories played over and over each day by Thais working the internet shops. Those of us experienced in Thailand have heard them all at one time or another..and have fallen for some too :-( If you are in Pattaya - might I suggest you stop by "Memories Cafe" in Sunee Plaza. I can assure you that several of the Thais who work there can provide you with a most memorable and happy Thailand experience. (PM me if you wish "names"). There are many more fine clubs in Pattaya and Bangkok as well which can assist you have an enjoyable Thailand holiday. TravelerJim

There is a tour desk in the lobby at the Pinnacle, although if it's a gay tour that you want, you're probably better off booking that through the Tarntawan Place Hotel. You're about a ten to fifteen minute taxi ride from the Tarntawan Place Hotel from the Pinnacle and the taxi shouldn't cost you more than 40 baht. That's slightly more than US $1. Also, as Geezer suggested, you're also perfectly welcome to contact me directly when you come to Pattaya. I'm always glad to help people new to Pattaya and will be happy to come to Le Caf

He doesn't need to become a doctor either . . . Yep! Your are right on!! An experienced Thai Doctor who I know of in a government hospital - the Doctor is of full Professor Status - and was earning 30,000 baht monthly - that was about 4 years ago. Again...my suggestion is PASS on the Med Student...he is really a "money boy" in a white coat or maybe in med school ??? And, if he is in Med School - where does he find the time to take full day tours of the provinces at 4,000 baht daily guide fee? Let alone part-time in Bangkok - Med School students are "students" first - study - study - study! Welcome to Thailand...and when you are in Pattaya - pm me and let's have lunch or dinner together - if you would like.
