Bangkok 2020 trip report

As my business is now closed already for 6 weeks due to Covid-19, I am getting bored and take some time to write a report about my latest trip to LOS.

During winter, some take a shortski for a long weekend. I don’t like that, so I have booked a 5 day 4 nights trip to Bangkok at the end of January: leaving on Thursday evening after office hours, taking an overnight flight to BKK arriving on Friday afternoon and leaving Tuesday morning and be home on Tuesday evening. Back in the office on Wednesday morning, only missing 3 work days.

As I only have a direct flight with Thai leaving at noon and arriving at 6 AM in BKK, I had to take a connecting flight. Last year, I used Aeroflot through Moscow, but this time Finnair was the cheapest, only 505 EUR.

The day before departure, I got an email from Finnair that my flight was overbooked and offering compensation for voluntary denied boarding. Didn’t react to it, as I was not sure which leg of my flight was overbooked. After my first flight to Helsinki, I got the same email for the second time. Looked at the departures in Helsinki and noticed there was a Finnair flight to Moscow, which would give a nice connection to the Aeroflot flight to BKK I used last year. Arrival difference in BKK was about 3 hours, and I would still have my full first evening. I volunteered, and had to choose between 300 EUR cashback on my credit card or a flight voucher of 500 EUR. Hesitated a bit, but choose the 500 EUR flight voucher valid for 1 year. 3 hours less in BKK, but probably my next trip for free…

Friday evening

As usual, I have booked a suite on the top floor of the Raya Surawong hotel. I really like that hotel and all the boys know it.

It is so sad to see Soi Twilight closed, but I’m up to discovering the new bars. But first, I decide to go to Golden Cock bar. I am lucky and get into some hot action with 3 of the boys. I really like that they are so open to each other. I left happy and gave a nice tip to the 3 boys.

Afterwards, I visited Lucky Boys, which I really like. Even when crowded, it feels like you have enough air to breed, as it has many seats and a very high ceiling. Mamasan from X-boys recognized me immediately. It is really a “supermarket of boys” as so many cute guys are on stage. Had a drink, watched a show, selected a boy and we went back to my hotel room. Boy was from Cambodia, would do everything and kept that promise. Gave him a well deserved tip when saying goodbye and added him on my Facebook. I stayed in bed and had nice dreams…

Saturday

I slept all morning and even part of the afternoon. Went out for a walk, but couldn’t find a masseur I really liked. Dinner buffet in Le Méridien hotel, which is expensive but really nice for a farang like me who is very picky on food.

Many boys contacted me on Grindr. I noticed Rak, which I knew from previous visits, but does not work anymore as a gogoboy. He agreed to meet late in the evening. Nice to see him again.

Visited Moonlight to start the evening. Too many Chinese with mouthmasks around me, and boys not really my type, so I left after 20 minutes.

Went over to some bars on the first floor in front of Lucky Boys. Did not find the right boy, so went over to Lucky Boys again. Boy from yesterday evening recognized me, but I had decided to take different boy every evening during this short trip. During previous trips, I often had preferred one boy for several nights, but not this time. Number 1 in Lucky Boys tried to get a repeat off, but he as a dud when I offed him in his X-boys period, I ignored him. It took me a long time to make up my mind, as there are so many good looking boys. Mamasan came to sit next to me,  so I gave her a tip when I had selected my boy. Once again a boy from Cambodia, who performed well. He really liked my room and made a lot of selfies. Even 3 months later, he still uses one on Grindr and another one on his Facebook. So nice to keep some connection with the boys on Facebook.

 

Sunday

Did not feel so inspired, so I went over again to the “super market of boys” Lucky Boys. Once again I noticed a very hot boy from Cambodia. I must say the quality of the boys in this bar is far above average I have seen in other bars in Bangkok or Pattaya. The boy turned out to be a great bottom, so tip well deserved.

The evening is only starting, so I went to the soi with DJ Station, but didn’t like it over there. Came back to Screw Boys, noticed a younger Lao bottom and we went to my room. Not a top performer, but it was a great evening anyway.

 

Monday

Today is all dedicated to Viro, my all-time favorite boy from Battambang region. We met about 2 years ago when he was new at X-boys. Last year, we have spent a few days together in Poseidon hotel in Pattaya. We chat a few times a month on Facebook. He went back to school after returning to Cambodia, but came to BKK to meet me today and stay over until I leave for the airport tomorrow. He is the only boy I like so much he can stay all night. Otherwise I prefer to sleep alone. He really gives me a boyfriend experience. I am so happy to meet him again. I pay him for 2 days, as he has been travelling so far to meet me.

Thanks for your report...it is truly a delight to have a report that is pre-covid...I hope the future will bring an opportunity for this type of trip to again be a regular event.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas

Compare it with a visit to a masseur. In most places around the world, the masseur remains clothed. He doesn't in Bangkok.

Compare it with a visit to a darkroom. Sometimes it is boring and nothing happens. Other visits you are lucky.

I don't remember if there were other customers. Maybe one or two, as it is never very crowded. But I don't mind that, as long as every customer has a different selection of boys. I don't mind other clients next to me. It could even add up to the fun. In a sauna, you also have others close to you.

What hot action happened with three of the boys? Well, it started completely innocent with buying a drink for them, like in any other bar in LOS. Drinks in Golden Cock are very cheap compared to other bars. After that, some kissing. I prefer boys to be shirtless, so some clothing was removed. They did the same to me, so one boy started playing with my nipples. Boys noticed something getting bigger in my pants and they were curious about it. Well, i had the same idea about theirs. When you have 3 boys petting you, it is a great moment. One of the boys was doing very well with his mouth. I left very happy. Of course I paid the drinks and a fee to the bar for the fun inside the bar, comparable to an off fee.

I never had any luck in Nature Boys. Most often only 2 boys, so not worth going in and buying a drink.

You can find more boys in Super A in the same soi. The older ones shirtless, the younger ones in street clothes and very concentrated on their mobile phones. Anyone been there in the last year?

I hope so, but I prefer them to be shirtless already when entering a bar.

If masquerading as a gogo bar, I expect to see the boys wearing no shirt, no trousers and at most one layer of sexy underwear.    Birthday suits ideally.

When I go into these bars, I either order a small beer which costs about 40 baht in a 7-Eleven or a water, which costs about 6 baht.  

When gogo bars mostly charge between 150 and 350 baht for the same drink,  as far as I'm concerned the unwritten contract states "I the customer shall pay between 350 and 5800% of the retail value of the drink, in return for seeing some high quality & very scantily clad lads on stage, who may be offable."   

Unlike some members in the past, I tend not to moan about bar drink prices, on the basis that I'm not paying for the drink, but paying for the entertainment. 

I expect the bars to keep their side of the bargain with the entertainment.

that's true, really we are paying admission ticket, free drink of our choice is included in the price

I very much agree with z909 although I would not go so far as to prefer gogo boys to be naked - that was often found in Pattaya gogos 15+ years ago.  G-strings or jocks would be my preference. Having said that, at the moment I would like an Asian boyFriend whatever he was wearing

End of April update

My all time favorite Viro contacted me on Facebook. He asked for money as he had a motorcycle accident in Cambodia and didn't wear a helmet. He knew perfectly well from previous attemps 2 years ago that I don't give money between meetings. He must be desperate. As I'm aware that coronacrisis is hitting hard on everyone, I decided to make an exception and have given him some money. I hope he will not try to ask more money soon.

This is the main problem with the boys once you give them money endless further requests will follow I did it once and it was a huge mistake .I won't do it again.

we should count our blessing that we have a choice 'send or don't send", problem would be if there was noting to ponder choices about.

A wise comment. How many of the world's population can afford to support someone in a foreign country? how many here in the UK? I've sent a lot of money over the past fifteen plus years; never have I had to make  serious personal sacrifices in terms of my own comfort. I count myself lucky, particularly n view of the happiness P brings  me, even in a twenty minute LINE call. Of course, he would propose the Buddhist  view that in fact, he is doing me a favour by allowing me to "make  merit"....or something like that!

Both comments make complete sense.

1  It's fairly obvious that anyone intent on having money sent from abroad will direct repeat requests to anyone and everyone who has donated previously.   Repeat what works.  For the less honest types, I guess they might repeat whatever story works.

2  Many of us are lucky to be living in relatively wealthy countries, so when we combine that luck with a little hard work or good decision making, we do have the money so we can decide what to do.   So far, we're also lucky to have been living in those relatively wealthy countries during the last few decades.  Flying to Thailand wasn't quite the same option 100 years ago. 

[I appreciate these comments don't apply to all members, as some live in countries with a relatively modest GDP, rely on initiative etc etc. ]

 

I've still only received 2 requests for money since the Covid outbreak.    There are 2 or 3 people who I might just have sent money to due to abnormal circumstances, but they didn't request any.  

The two I have received requests from include one I don't think I've ever met (I keep extensive notes) and another who's probably spent less than 90 minutes in my presence.    Obviously, I've not sent anything.

Agree...When I was more frequently visiting Pattaya, my hotel base was (and hopefully will be) The Poseidon in Jomtien.  The hotel has no business, surprise, but has taken to feeding folks.  They do this once or twice a week and provide 450+ meals each time.  I've decided this is a good place to provide financial support.  

I haven't had a direct request from any of the guys I know though I have heard from many...they complan about the lack of work but are happy to away from Bangkok where the virus is...at least it is in their minds and they don't want another quarantine.

I did not get any request owing to simple reason - I don't keep in touch with guys while I'm away from Thailand. 

I don't want  them to nurse any illusions and don't want to have those myself too. But when there I like to treat them well because I can I guess.
