reader Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 From Bangkok Post World's largest producer idled for last 10 days by Malaysian lockdown KUALA LUMPUR: A global shortage of condoms is looming, the world’s biggest producer warns, as a coronavirus lockdown has forced it to shut down production. Karex Bhd makes one in every five condoms used globally. It has not produced a single condom from its three Malaysian factories in the past 10 days because of the lockdown imposed by the government to halt the spread of the virus. That’s already a shortfall of 100 million condoms, normally marketed internationally by brands such as Durex, supplied to state healthcare systems such as Britain’s National Health Service or distributed by aid programmes including the UN Population Fund. spoon Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 I dont even know we produced 1/5 of world supply of condom in malaysia lol. I hope due to lockdown, demand for condom will also goes down. I mean, u cant go out whoring anyway lol. So the use might be limited to contraception. Quote

There are some enormous latex glove makers as well. Top Glove makes about 73 billion a year. Quote

Yup, i know aboout glove as one of the factory is very close to my parents' house. I guess makes sense that anything latex related will be produced as well Quote
