peterholland Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 Hi everyone, I just returned from a short trip (10 days) to Pattaya and Bangkok. On my second day I did find a very nice guy from Cambodia, in the Jomtien Complex. Wanted to take him to my hotel, Welcome World Beach Hotel, which is very near the Jomtien Complex. He wasn't allowed to enter the hotel; they checked his passport and because he did not have visa, he was not allowed. Very disappointing for him and me! For my next trip to Pattaya in november I am looking for a hotel, which doesn't make any problem like this. I am looking for a hotel not too far from the Jomtien Complex, if possible with seaview and a nice swimmingpool! Do you have any advice? Thanks in forward! Quote
Boy69 Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 I stayed recently at East Suites it is in Jomtien Complex laxurious room on reasonable prices some with private Jakuzi and you have a free access to the swimming pool at the opposite Zing hotel, very guests freindly , you can bring anyone you want to your room without any questions or ID asked . vinapu 1 Quote
Guest Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 None of the hotels I have stayed at in Pattaya in the last 2 years check passports. These are: Zing Jomtien Complex, Mosaik (near Tuk Com) and The Classrooms, near Boyztown. I check passports myself, unless they are obviously a few years over 18. Most have a huge collection of immigration stamps and do visa runs on a regular basis, although of course I never check the stamps -just age and the photo. I'm fairly sure people from ASEAN nations do not need visas to get into Thailand. Just an entry stamp. Had your lad entered illegally ? Or was he past the date of the stamp in the passport ? I presume there was some illegality, but if the hotel had refused entry to someone legally in the country, I would have insisted they let him in, unless their T&Cs prohibit it. Quote
Travellerdave Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 Some good advice there from Z909. You should not experience any problems staying in one of the Complex hotels with taking boys to your room. They are all gay friendly Zing has the best pool there. BL8gPt 1 Quote
Jhoony Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 If u like welcome world next door Avalon no problem at all. They do not check anything. Stayed there many. Find it much more pleasant than complex hotels Quote
peterholland Posted March 5, 2020 Author Posted March 5, 2020 The Cambodian boy did have an overstay, his entry date was 26th of august 2019. He did tell me he lived already 15 years in Thailand, he now is 24!! Quote
peterholland Posted March 5, 2020 Author Posted March 5, 2020 Do they not ask to check in the boy? Quote
Boy69 Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 No the options mentioned above do not check anything. Zing resort have swimming pool and you have second entrance through the street bypassing the reception so you won't have any problems to bring guests there. vinapu and BL8gPt 2 Quote
MunichCut Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 I stayed at Classroom Hotel. No Trouble with Boys. You have an Seperate Entry.Great Rooms. vinapu 1 Quote
Boy69 Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Yes but the OP asked for hotels near Jomtien complex not near City Boyz. Quote
ggobkk Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 There is the Venue which Vinapu has given a thumbs up. I stay at The Poseidon and have made it my Pattaya/Jomtien base for the past four years. vinapu 1 Quote
Guest Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 The OP has so far received at least 3 suggestions in Jomtien Complex. Plus a few others about 20 minutes away on a baht bus. I'm not aware of a current bar called City Boyz, but am always here to learn. If my memory is correct, there was such a bar in Sunee, but it closed at least 3 years ago. At or close to the Winner Boys site. Back on the topic of hotels, if none of the recommendations suits the OP, other approaches are 1 To e-mail the hotel and check their policy on joiners. 2 Go to a straight forum and look for girl friendly hotels. Finally, as I travel around Thailand, outside of Bangkok and Pattaya, without checking hotel policy, I've had boys visit over 10 different hotels in the last 18 months and never had a problem at any of them. If I were booking for a longer stay in Bangkok or Pattaya, I would, however still check the joiner policy, as getting one of the minority of hotels which discourage joiners would be inconvenient. Travellerdave Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Another point to check is that some hotels do not admit joiners under the age of 20. During my November trip I stayed in a hotel near Soi Buakhow which I liked for having a large 25 metre pool (I like exercise swimming). After checking in I saw a notice to that effect. Later online I was in contact with a boy who specified his age as 19. I queried this with him, as some boys state they are younger than what is the case, but he confirmed it to be correct. I had to say then that I didn’t want him to join me because of the hotels rule. This was a pity as his picture really excited me. Certainly the Zing does not have this restriction. Whilst there I never took advantage of the reception bypass route as a check as to the boy’s credentials is a good safety play. Quote
BL8gPt Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 At Zing I usually have the guys checking their ID/Passport with reception, but on one or two occasions that I had guys I knew we passed reception without checking without any problem. Quote
CurtisD Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 I just checked on Airbnb and there are a number of apartments with pools available at reasonable prices near the Complex. I had a good experience with one a couple of years back. Great view from balcony and no problem with guests. Quote
peterholland Posted March 7, 2020 Author Posted March 7, 2020 I just booked the East Suites for april/may 2020! Thanks for all the advices! Boy69 1 Quote

It caters to straight and gay travellers. Rather nice place. Nice pool also. But I'd skip the breakfast. Nothing special and the service is quite terrible. Just walk towards the beach and get a good Pie around the corner. Quote

Yes I agree Zing's breakfast buffet not worth 250 Baht very limited options but they served it till 14:00 and since sometimes I woke up late it was convinance to eat there. Yes the service is not great. Quote
Travellerdave Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 Not sure you are right there Boy69. I stayed at Zing 3 weeks and had the buffet breakfast most morning with cereal, 2 fried eggs plus bread jam etc and as much coffee/fruit juice as I liked. 250 is not excessive for all of that. The eggs were always cooked quickly and brought to my table with bacon or whatever I asked for. Mind you on occasions when I felt like buying an off breakfast I did not eat there but instead walked with him to find a more Thai food orientated place. BL8gPt 1 Quote

I know quite a few boys that go there after work and chase the money that they lost the night before! Quote
