First Time in BKK - trip report

(Very early) Morning everyone, 

I finally made it to BKK arriving yesterday. It is a trip that has been a long time in the making and that i have look forward to for months now. I posted before Christmas thanking everyone who contributes to this forum - I wish that i have found it sooner. The info that people have posted here has been a fantastic help in preparing me for all the joys of Patpong and the boy bars. 

I was going to save up a few nights and post a review then, but fierce jetlag, combined with a bit of a cold that i developed the day before i left (thanks office colleagues that passed that on), I find myself up at 4.30am, so I thought i may as well make a start! 

I arrived into BKK at a very civilised time yesterday morning. The plane touched down at 9.45am after an 11 hour flight from London. I had upgraded to Premium Economy and was glad for every penny extra that had cost. Although the cold i am nursing really hit my sleep on the flight and i didn't feel too out of it on arrival. One of the advantages of Premium Economy is that you are sandwiched between First and Business which means that you are one of the first to get off the plane. I got my skates on and sped through to immigration ahead of most of the crowd and was through passport control pretty quickly and without any drama. 

When i left the UK it was cold and damp, maxing out at about 10 degrees C - arriving in BKK and it being 30/31 even at that early time was  bit of a shock to the system - i had hoped that it would shock my cold into pissing off and leaving me alone, but no luck. 

Thanks to a recommendation i had seen on here somewhere, I had already pre-booked a transfer with SP Limousine and they were ready and waiting for me. I am sure it was significantly more costly than some of the other options that I could have gone for, but at 950bht straight to my hotel seemed like a price well worth paying and I was glad that I had spent the time and money setting up before I arrived; it took a load of stress out of the arrival process and delivered me to the Ascott hotel pain free. 

I had also pre-ordered my Thai SIM card and had that delivered to me in the UK before i left, so once in the car, I sorted my phone out and got online. 

Surprisingly, it was all really easy - no glitches, muddles, or stress arriving which is just what I needed after a couple of really hard months at work. 

I fired up Grindr on the journey over to the hotel and connected with a cute Thai guy. He was angling for lunchtime meet up. He was a top only which was fine. I am very Vers so depending on my overall mood will top or bottom. He had sent over pics and looked smooth, slim and big dicked - perfect! I met him in the lobby of the hotel; it is a good job he spotted me first as i would NEVER have recognised him from the pics he sent over! They must have been taken at least 10 years ago if not more. No problems at all in meeting him the lobby and going up to my room with him. I went for a (very) short walk around the block by the hotel and picked up a few bits at the 7-11, and then needed to sleep for a bit.

At about 9.30pm I got a Grab and headed out to see what action i could find. I thought rather than dive straight in and look for a boy to off, I would  have a bit of a wander, get my bearings and just see the lie of the land. I wandered around the Patapong night market for a bit, grabbed myself a pad thai, and kept my eyes open looking for all the venues so frequently discussed on here. It was a bit surreal having read about all these places for a couple of months being in front of me all of a sudden! I was really thankful for all the tips and advice so generously handed out on these pages as it made the night much easier to navigate. \

I ended up in Fresh Boys and only because a cute guy grabbed my attention outside... I arrived about 20mins before the show kicked off so got to see about 40 boys on stage in their small pieces of underwear. I was pleased with my choice of venue. Some good looking twink boys. Some eye contact being made and smiles but as i said before, it was more about taking a look tonight. I was met by a couple of mamasans - a mid 50s guy who sat next to me and an older ladyboy who was lovely. I bought them both a drink and just sat back and enjoyed the display. There was lots of dick grabbing and rubbing on stage as the boys did their parade. There were a couple I wouldn't have minded having a go on but I was still holding out for tonight. Nice variety, all much more on the twink side of things which is good and what I like. One of the boys was alarmingly skinny though and really needs feeding! It was almost painful to watch him. 

Thinking back, I don't think I have seen any comment on here about the price of drinks. I was drinking beer but it seemed all the drinks were the same price - 400bht, which seemed rally steep to me? I had got quite a bit of attention and bought mamasans a drink. Other hosts kept coming up and also asking for a drink but at those prices I just said "not tonight". The guy mamasan (the owner?) stayed with me and was nice. Asking what I was looking for, mentioning that they have a room upstairs to use if i didn't want to take boy back to my hotel. I didn't ask how much that would be... 

I stayed for the first three or four parts of the show. It opened with a ladyboy lip syncing. She was good. She had a headdress on that Elton John would have been proud of. The second act was a guy jerking off over a magzine. Impressive sized dick although somehow not erotic in the slightest. The third act was actually a pretty well choreographed light bdsm scene. A ladyboy whipping a leathered up boy, slightly more muscular than the boys from the stage earlier. It seemed she was getting quite into and was throwing the boy around. She threw him into one of the pillars at one point with some force. The resulting thump against the pilar was loud and percussive - it got a few double takes from the resident boys; i think it was a bit harder than usual! The last act i stayed for was a couple of boys in speedos getting lathered up, but given they kept their speedos on for what seemed like an age, it really wasn't all that interesting so i chose that moment to head out. 

Got a Grab back to the hotel and went up to my room., No sooner had I got back in, a Croatian muscle boy messaged me on Grindr. Off to a great start.  

The drinks are definitely expensive, but it's where the bars make their money.  400 is still the high season price.  If it gives any comfort, I find it helpful to remember that the drink is a combo (1) drink, (2) cover charge for the shows and (3) fee for entering a brothel with a lineup of 40 or so guys.  

I am rather fond of the older ladyboy mamasan.  From the right angle she is dead ringer for Eartha Kitt.

You are absolutely right - she does! I had not thought of that but now you mention it.

I don't mind the price really. It is no more than going to see a show at home, at there is just as much to look at here!

Thanks for reporting early on in your visit. You add atmosphere to expand the reality of the experience. Fresh Boys owes much of its success to the cute boys who, like the one you mention, got you into the show.

Chatuchak you survive for sure but brace yourself for Lucy, the Mamasan at Lucky Boys.

Keep in mind that buying drinks for mamasans is not an obligatory exercise and boys are those who are parading in skimpy briefs to your visual enjoyment, not mamasans although some of them looked great in their younger years.

Take it easy with jet lag and be prepared that 2nd and 3rd days are usually worst and on the 1st day we are running a bit on adrenaline.

Great report and have fun at both market and Lucky Boys. There's no trip to Thailand like first trip , I feel jealous

Yes great report. I liked particularly the bit about spanking the 6 ft 4 Croatian muscle boy with the complementary slippers. I will have to try that during my forthcoming trip, although for me it is more likely to be a 5ft 4 twink on the receiving end.

Yes, I usually would have called it quits at that point, don't really know why i didn't; I had just got off the plane though and needed to get some action in. In the end i was pleased i didn't send him home. Whilst the massage was really nothing special,  he had a big dick and fucked me good, which was just what i was looking for.

Agree with vinapu: If boys are that long in this trade they must have qualities and their looks are just a minor aspect fort hat. IMHExp. the older guys-say from 25 are so long in the trade and have so much experience they can give tremendous pleasure feelings-as indeed I had the pleasure to find out that evenng. And if they massage you most of the time you dont even see them as you lie on your front.

Arrived myself around same time the day before and was in the bus also whithin 30 mins after arrival (was directed to premium lane even though I do not yet qualify for that-and anyway you then have to wait longer for luggage to appear). Bad air here though and a really awful mass of asean and mainland China people.

2 reasons why I don't agree with both of you :

First , it's a matter of ethics I never lie to boys who I am in contact with through the apps I just don't like liers , it's a bad start when a boy show up and he isn't what he described initially so usually I prefer to cut it off and say goodbye.

Second, I am into 18 to 24 boys years old more than that it's a turn off for me, If a boy sent me old pictures and when he show up he's much older than his pictures I won't take him to my room only one exception if he  looks young and attractiveI will probably consider to take him but he should be really a stunning boy to make an exception.

Thought I would get back to it and updte on the weekend's adventures....

Got up and out on Saturday morning so i could get to Chatuchak early before the heat and the crowds really kicked in. Although some of the stalls are later opening, I was pleased that i got a good hour and a bit before it started to get really busy. Amazing place really. I do like my contemporary art and had heard that they were some good stalls there. I was sceptical when i heard it and even more so when i arrived. I couldn't imagine how the conditions would be anyway close to being suitable for displaying, but more importantly, preserving the work in such blistering heat and humidity. Of course, I hadn't reckoned on the little air conditioned units they had in the "art" section. Some really fantastic work. Some of it could easily find a home in the upmarket galleries back home. I picked up a really nice leather wallet of astonishing quality 1/3 of the price that it would have cost back home. 

I was doing really well until i all of a suddent found myself in the middle of the "animal" section. Just horrific. The puppy farming on display; tiny cages with little evidence of food or water anywhere in sight - huskie puppys with full on coats in 34 degree heat. Birds, fish, reptiles, and yet more puppies. Everywhere i turned just seemed to take me deeper into this animal hell. I couldn't get out fast enough. A different culture and attitude to animals but distressing even so. 

Market done and an afternoon nap, I headed out to make a visit to Lucky Boys. I stopped and grabbed a couple of chicken skewers but they turned out to be inedible. Cold in the middle and largely grisle. I took a couple of bites before spitting then out and dumping them. I really didn't fancy a dose of food poisioning! 

Lucky Boys - more polished and larger than Fresh Boys. Everything seemed a little bit more professional - the lights that bit more sophisticated, the boys a little bit more polished (?), the waiters a bit more busy. 

The boys on show looked great. A good range - young, smooth twinks, some muscle, some older. Aesthetically, they all looked great but something just didn't feel right to me. I was getting a lot of eye contact and gestures from number 80. He seemed really keen and would more often than not be my type but something didn't really work for me. I have been thinking about it a lot but still haven't been able to put my finger on it. I had a drink in there, settled up and moved on. 

I ended up back in Feesh Boys. Instantly recognized i was given a seat slap bang in the middle of the stage a row back. I had previously sat at the sitde on my last visit. I took a shine for a boy named something  that sounded lile "Ow" although i am not sure if that was actually his name of whether i just misheard... He was 20 from Myanmar and very cute. When i went out i was thinking i would find myself a bottom, but my new companion was a top and i was happy with that. The older guy fromt he venue who had sat with me the previous night fetched him, i bought them both drinks, watched a bit of the show and off'd him. We headed  back to my hotel (the Ascott), no issues at all taking him in, no ID checks or anything. He was not shy. Got straight to work and performed really well. I was certainly satisfied. Gave him his tip and a bit extra and he headed off. I forgot to get his Line which was silly of me as i would have had him again. 

Sunday I headeed out to Central Embassy. Before coming over a friend had mentioned the food hall so stopped in there for lunch. It was really, really good. Probably a lot more expensive then what i could have found elsewhere, but given the disaster of food the previous night, i was starving. I was not feeling on top form, the UK cold still lingering I decided to stay in. The effort of going out was just too much to think about. I had had loads of messages on Grindr from all manner of boys throught the day and agreed a late afternoon mssage in my room. A really nice 23 year old student who spoke fluent English. A bit of discussion and secured an appointment to include naked oil massage, getting rimmed and a blow job for 850bht which seemed a bit of a bargain. Well, his service was anything but cheap. He was excellent. I remembered to get his Line this time, although as i found him (or rather he found me) it was probably less important. I will almost certainly book him again on Tuesday.

That's all for now. Am feeling pretty lethargic today. Last night as my first night with the jet lag truly conquered but i do not see a day of activity aahead of me. I might head out later and maybe check one of the other boy bars. I really shouldn't just keep going back to Fresh Boys variety being the spice and all that...

Yes I agree at the end it's all a matter of personal taste I am into young slim smooth twinks so I am more sensitive to the their age others who are into six-pack hunks may be more flexible I guess.

Somehow at the end you'll find you have preferable bar which you find  yourself comming more often than other bars and maybe it's Fresh Boys,this bar received many positive reviews lately certainly on my first list to visit in my upcoming trip on February.

lol, I usually choose the middle ground. Most of the time I mention to the guys that if they don't look like their pic then I will pay them between 200 to 300 bhat (Depending upon how far they are coming from) and will conclude business with that.  

Most of them walk/take short ride to my hotel as I usually stay in Silom area but again since the guy took an effort to come over, they deserve some compensation for their effort/time. This avoids any bad feeling, at least I don't feel that I am being rude or unreasonable as I paid something instead of just outright rejecting someone because of their looks

Maybe it was the sheer number of boys on stage? That's what caused an insurmountable indecisiveness in fellow forum member numazu recently on his first visit to Lucky Boys. He managed to overcome that though on another visit to the bar. So maybe just give it another try.

As for adding variety and spice, yes that's true, but on the other hand it's all about having the best time and the best encounters. If you are able to get that from just one bar, so be it, nothing wrong or to regret. As it happens, on one of his many trips another esteemed member, @vinapu , went to one and ONLY one bar (Tawan, not for you though haha) the entire time of that trip. He called it the "Tawan mono diet"

I've never had this particular problem.  I had one guy who had put on quite a bit of weight, so no more six-pack, but not a big deal (for me).  We still had a fun time together.

I do assume that the guy has posted a flattering photo or two of himself (duh), so I'm always expecting some variation.  I also assume that standard filters have been used to lighten skin.  Again, not a big deal (for me).  I know some people like to have a quick Line video chat or FaceTime with the guy to confirm the looks/identity. 

Personally, I don't put too much stress on a particular encounter with a guy, so if the sex is only "meh" and the guy isn't quite as good looking as the fantasy that I built up in my own fevered brain, I still mark it as a win.  

Based on my own non-scientifically-valid experience, I also tend to steer clear of the most beautiful guys - whether at bars, massage shops or on apps.  My lustful greed never seems to pan out and they often don't measure up to the fantasy, so it's unfair to them and me.   

Upon reflection, I think I still come at the whole thing the same way as I used to when I and my friends would go out and hit the bars and clubs.  You chat up a guy you think is cute and you don't get to see him with his clothes off until you're back in the apartment.  Maybe the sex is great.  Maybe it's only good and a bit awkward.  Repeat.  Fun.
