Usually Christmas brings happy time to families. Not at this year. At this Christmas house of Siamroads guide on Philippines - Jay-em - has been totally destroyed by Ursula tycoon  

Jay-em is 22 yo, second old kid in family of total 6 kids and 2 parents. His parents are farmers. At Siamroads we already collecting money for to help him. I never did it before, but now I ask you to help as well, since at Siamroads alone we can't collect enough money. Please join us and make some donation if you can. Let's do Christmas miracle for family with 6 kids.

To send money without a PayPal account just go to PayPal's front page and from there click the link Send Money> Send Money Online. From there it will be possible to send a payment to any email address.

Moses, I do not not normally use PayPal but I decided to make a small donation.

To pay 1000 baht PayPal wanted to charge me almost 200 baht, is there not a better way to send the money (via yourself?)

Aside if most of our contributors could send a small donation, we wouldn't really miss it with the added advantage we could count our blessings and feel better at this festive season.

Traveller, I sent money via Paypal yesterday. It cost me another 10% to send but I figured it was worth it as it would be the easiest to get to him the fastest.

Unfortunately no more cheap way: it is international transfer, other ways will be even more expensive.

To make wire payments/transfers with Transferwise is quite cheap - nowhere near the fees charged by PayPal. If you want to do this guy a real favour you ask for his bank account details and post it here.

on small amounts they takes even more than PayPal (it takes 13.5%, PP takes 8%)

In total (with Siamroads) is collected around $900. Our goal is to collect $2500: it will be enough for to build up simple house with walls and roof for to protect family from rain and wind.

PayPal fees seem competitive for modest transfers, but rather obscene for larger sums.     I used PayPal.   

Perhaps anyone kind enough to send a much larger sum could contact the recipient to discuss alternatives.
