12is12 Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 Touchdown was Friday 14:20, 40 minutes ahead of time - that's a first! Decided to go with the minority recommendation. In taxi at 15:15, at hotel - 16:20. 525 baht including surcharge and tolls. Tarntawan is a basic hotel, quite adequate, no luxury, offers room service (which I didn't use), perfectly located, $70 per night through Agoda. Yesterday I asked around for a possible stay in Dec, since I'll probably have to cancel HK. Baht per night: Tarntawan - 2200 Siam Heritage - 2300 Tawana - 3300 Le Meridien - 7000 !!!!!!! anddy Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 I'd recommend you not stay at Siam Heritage or Tawana, visitors may be an issue there vinapu 1 Quote
12is12 Posted November 19, 2019 Author Posted November 19, 2019 Sorry Forgot to note. I asked in all places; they said no problem. Quote
DrimVoiz Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 I only stayed in Red Planet Surawong, I really like the rooms and the water pressure from the shower, but its only suitable 4 backpackers like me. Jasper 1 Quote
Huncsaba Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 Hotel Malaysia 950 baht/night for 2 persons with breakfast... Visitors OK! Quote
Londoner Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 Check Tarntawan on Agoda. It's usually much cheaper there....though I realise it's the high season. We're there in January (we booked early) and are paying only 60% or so of your price. Quote

But it's a direct answer to a direct question (provided they understood the question correctly) Quote
Boy69 Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 Yes Siam Heritage or Tawana are not guests freindly many reports in the past about this you can't ignore.Althogh they have excellent location I would not recommend book this hotels. Quote
12is12 Posted November 19, 2019 Author Posted November 19, 2019 Made sure ALL understood both question and answer. Can't vouch for reliability..... Quote
Boy69 Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 You should consider the gay friendly hotels bellow : Le Siam (Swiss Lodge) Furama Silom Pullman (Silom) Rose Hotel Quote
joshhb Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 Why do posters feel the need to stay in Silom hotels. AirBnB has so many apartments on soi 3. Its not far from Patpong, and you can "live like a local" as they say. The sub-soi directly behind Bangkok Bank has some great food. Anon's 88 Eatery and Bar on the main 3 is great. Boy69 Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 Some want live like local but others prefer to live like tourist so it's really a matter of personal preferences. vinapu 1 Quote
ggobkk Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 Arrived Swampy just before midnight. taxi with tolls and tip 400. Took 25 mins total, of which 5 or so needed to get out of taxi lot. Somewhat proud of self, plane landed at E9 and multiple walkways later which filled with multitudes as more planes arrived. I took the easy way and used the “monk lane” to clear immigration. So just one hour from getting off the plane to check in. paulsf, vinapu and anddy 3 Quote
