Wheelz Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Has anyone stayed at Jomtien Palm Beach? Gay friendly? Allow boys back to room or are they sniffy? Two nights visit in a week's time - looking at Jomtien Palm Beach, or possibly View Talay Condo - both fairly near Jomtien complex. Or other recommends welcome. Thanks in advance, Wheelz Quote
vinapu Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 I found both Zing Resort and The Venue in the Complex itself good value and no problems with visitors. For bit more space and luxury Baan Souy in quiet side street short hop by songtaew / motorsai or still walkable from Complex is another option. Quote
Boy69 Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Zing Resort and the Agate are the best options in Jomtien Complex. Quote
Londoner Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Agate (according to my boyfriend) is the best hotel he's stayed in. And we've stayed in many, all over Thailand. I tend to agree. As I've said before, if you book, do so directly with the hotel by email. Best prices. Quote
Travellerdave Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 I stayed for a few days at the Zing in the Jomtien Complex during my current trip. Extremely good value and it has a useful size pool for swimming. It’s a favourite of Gays including myself. vinapu, BL8gPt and Boy69 2 1 Quote

The Jomtien Palm Beach Hotel was originally named the Royal Jomtien Resort Hotel. There was a horrific disaster at this hotel in 1997. Today many people consider the hotel haunted, as more than 90 people died in a very bad fire there. I remember seeing the blackened, charred hotel in the summer of 1997. It was spooky looking, with large burn marks and smoke stains going up the outside of the high rise building . It took a long time to renovate, and it was re-named the Jomtien Palm Beach when it re-opened. It is in a good location, close to Bamboo Bar and Jomtien Complex. It might not be a concern to some people, but I would not consider staying there, no matter how good a deal they offered. Up2u Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 Yes I remember the story about the Royal Jomtien Resort. The people died (suffocated) because the management locked the fire exit doors fearful that guests would skip without paying their bills. Management was prosecuted if I recall. Quote
Guest Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 Whilst I personally prefer to stay in South Pattaya, I have tried the Zing in Jomtien Complex and agree it's a good value option. Also has a gym and sauna. Beware there is more than one Zing in Pattaya, so check you are booking the one at Jomtien Complex. Quote
