floridarob Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Planning my Jan trip and looking for some input. I've stayed at Ambiance, The Venue, View Talay 2 and the Agate in the past. Didn't even go to Boyztown on my last few trips, Nice Boys seems to be my favorite current bar.....but there seems to be a lot of Crap in Pattaya. Most reviews mention that many places are run down and lack maint. I like the Venue, but I also like having a microwave to heat up food but the View Talay condo I stayed at had a/c problems among other things. Venue is 1000 baht plus 7% tax///Ambiance is 41 USD a night with breakfast, but it ends at 11am and I'm a late sleeper, so will probably miss that. Where would you recommend ??? Quote
Travellerdave Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 I like the Zing Resort in Jomtien Complex and have stayed there during my last three trips. Very gay friendly and a decent sized pool plus a small fitness room. It’s near the bars but not affected by noise at night. Breakfast served till late. I don’t think I will be going back to the Ambiance where I used to stay frequently. I use motor bike taxis to bring boys back from BT and Sunee. floridarob and BL8gPt 2 Quote
vinapu Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 I'm staying right now in Classrooms above ABomb, room is big and yes I have big fridge, microwave and full set of utensils in the room.Gentleman I was hosting last night drank his white wine from proper glass, go figure. No breakfast but Foodland is short walk away and there are many other places with all day breakfast floridarob, MunichCut and splinter1949 3 Quote

Since is a girl bar mainly downstairs....any issues (I wouldn't expect so, IT IS Pattaya ,lol) How is Boyztown these days? Quote

I've also stayed there 3 or 4 times. If I'm staying near Boyztown, it's my preferred hotel. Comfortable beds, spacious rooms & good showers. No audible late night noise from bars. However, I generally prefer to stay near Tuk Com, as the other amenities in the locality suit me better than near Boyztown. Quote
floridarob Posted August 28, 2019 Author Posted August 28, 2019 where do you stay near Tuk Com? Quote
Guest Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 1 hour ago, floridarob said: where do you stay near Tuk Com? Mosaik. Mosaik has a choice of the larger suites, or the smaller rooms, which can be a good value budget option. I've tried both. The smaller rooms are the best sub 1000 baht option I have seen in Pattaya, although I have mostly given up searching in this price bracket. The Classrooms had the best quality room -in terms of finish, bed, good shower etc. Quote

BL8gPt Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 True Zing has a very good swimming pool, but why bother with the pool when the beach is only a short walk from the hotel. Breakfast is served until 2:00 pm but is not included in the room fee. There is no microwave oven in the room there are coffee and tea making facilities and stuff. If you want to have a snack in your room you can get it at the seven eleven across the road where they will heat/cook it for you. I have stayed there four times already and I am coming again in January/February. vinapu 1 Quote

No problem with resident girls or hotel guests at all. There are 2 bars on ground floor , ABOMB, boy bar and Classroom own girl bar. Entry to the rooms is by separate door , keycard protected o bar guests unless sitting outside don't know who you are hosting and it' not their business anyways. Boyztown is kind of very quiet , Toy Boy look like short of boys big time , me and Christian visited twice yesterday 2 hours apart and saw even empty stage . But BBB is packing , Music bar past midnight lat night looked full , good fun at Castro with 1/3 seats taken and I have impression guys are more keen for a business. I'm happy with trip so far so it can't be that bad and certainly far from last October disaster Quote

vinapu Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 somebody reported it already but I just noticed new place called "SS Residences" in the same soi ABomb is, entrance is right beside former Vassa bar in the small connecting soi. Place looks new and is not available on agoda nor expedia yet ( at least I did not find it there) but booking.com quotes about 900 / baht per night so may be worth to consider as is close enough to BOyztown, whole 27 seconds walk, but that soi is much more quiet Quote
Guest Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 SS residences looks like another interesting option, but I have a few of concerns with it: 1 Someone I know quit staying at The Penthouse as any noise from the late night outdoor parties at the bottom of Boyztown comes straight down the Soi. I figure the worst rooms at SS Residences would only be marginally better for that problem. On the other hand, The Classrooms is further around the block and facing away from Boyztown -hence it is quiet. 2 SS Residences don't list a room safe in the description or show one in the photos. 3 No separation between shower and sink or toilet. 4 Strangely, although it's a completely refitted building, they have decorated it as if in the 1970s. I noticed some building work here back in February & this is the result. 5 Children allowed. Perhaps they are not marketing it to our type ? Quote

I stayed once in East Suites Jomtien , just opposite of Thai Blind Massage Institute ... No breakfast , usually fullybooked , I recommend if you want to stay in Jomtien . Second option Baan Souy is located halfway between Boystown and Jomtien , my favorite hotel in Pattaya , a bit expensive but wonderful pool and rooms . Pure gay ... BL8gPt 1 Quote

And when done , they place us in contaminated soil anyways. santosh108 1 Quote

You hear many dire warnings but I see many people sea swimming and I am not aware of large numbers of them being adversely affected. I am not a regular sea swimmer but when on the gay beach and the sea is fairly calm I do go in and like to swim to the safety floating barrier, So far with no ill effects. Maybe I am lucky perhaps like I have been in the past with unprotected sex. I take motorbike taxis sometimes without using a helmet, cross busy roads when intoxicated and travel on the highway to and from the airport. In fact it’s surprising I’m still alive. But perhaps my luck will run out soon ! kokopelli, BL8gPt and santosh108 3 Quote
vinapu Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 As promised , few impressions from Pattaya hotels used recently CLASSROOMS Above ABomb bar, one of my favorites of all time. Spacious rooms, ones on top floor with sea view and ample balcony are particularly recommended. Even if they are two bars downstairs very little noise is coming to the rooms. Entry by discreet side doors so quite private , no problems with visitors nether from guests not bar girls. Some even nodded approvingly it was my impression seeing me opening door to two different handsome guys the same night, LOL. Rooms very spacious which I like, with seating area. They did not forget about necessities in the bathroom like toothbrush, condoms, lube etc. which can be purchased with very little mark-up ( toothbrush just 5 baht more than at 7/11, condoms 10 baht extra ). Kettle, microwave, cutlery , all kitchen conveniences included so my guy who wanted white wine was drinking it from proper glass ! Very popular, will stay again and hopefully again and again. Pretty strict with 3 p.m. check in time so take it into considerations , like lady on reception told me explaining ‘ our guests are waking up late” LE CAFÉ ROYAL, BOYZTOWN Renovated, now all room painted in white theme with psychedelic green fluorescent lights but when you turn it off and on again it becomes normal white light. Oddly , it was only hotel out of 8 I slept in this trip which requested my guest ID. I was on third floor so not much noise from MUSIC bar downstairs, Good value, last minute room for 20 $. As with all Boyztown hotels, whole soi can see whom you are hosting, on another hand one can’t be more close to the action so all depends on preferences, funny I did not mind but my boy did as he was known to the boys in the soi. ZING RESORT, JOMTIEN COMPLEX Not to be mixed with Zing hotel closer to Pattaya proper. Very good value for money with all conveniences in the room. Pool accessible to guests. Mixed clientele but many gays , lots of them escorted and did not notice any fuss. Entry possible with bypassing reception so visitors are no problem. Breakfast provided but not included in the rate, pretty good selection, 220 or 250 baht per person , can’t recall exactly. Will stay again THE VENUE, JOMTIEN COMPLEX Good value for money with Junior suite particularly very good value , spacious room with seating area and a couch, big window. Spiral staircase and working elevator, entry before reaching reception so visitors no problem, facing main soi of complex so may be a bit noisy but not this time. Entry by old fashioned key. Will stay again. both Complex hotels are walking distance to an airport bus station as an additional bonus. splinter1949, BL8gPt and Boy69 2 1 Quote
