Just those who are here to have a friendly chat with and discuss about bars/boys and travel/tourist stuff. Ive met with few forumer in bangkok, and had a fun time sharing coffee, go to onsen, go to bar together. I am here without specific plan so pretty flexible with anything really. Id say very few that doesnt fit in those "like minded" category.

Good luck Spoon , hope you meet up with some great people , unfortunately a lot of the gay guys who are of mature aged ( myself included)  can be paranoid when it comes to meeting people.

I find it so different to the straight farangs who socialise together in bars , a lot of times I see gay farangs  sitting by themselves

I met with andyy and christianpfc in bkk, two separate meetings, two very different activities lol. Also met two more guys from blowingwind forum, one ive been chatting with a long time, and one i only engaged because we are in bkk at the same time. All four "strangers" ive met has been a delight to be with. Me travelling solo means i can change my plan anytime to have a meet with fellow forumers. Agree with vinapu, it does adds more joy to my trip.

I am always here in Pattaya. Hang out at Green Chairs Bar,  Diamond Bar, Eden Bar and Winner Boys.

But as mentioned by another poster, us old timers are somewhat leary of meeting new people.

Send me a photo by PM and I will keep an eye out for you.

Forgot about this thread and only remember when floridarob above bring it up again. Sorry we didnt get to meet kokopeli. Totally understand your reason to be leary of meeting new people. I am not comfortable sharing my photo online as well, so i also have my reasons as well. Maybe we can meet when we have mutual friends who can introduce in future trips. Cheers.

That is really true. I don’t know why. The straight farangs seem to hang out together much more. I suppose for me I am always cautious about getting too friendly with anyone to quickly.

But talk about bars, boys I am more relaxed with. Just if there are too many questions about personal stuff I can easily overthink it and get uncomfortable. My hang up I guess. It is however really helpful when you meet someone who does understand how things work and can offer you some tips and advice.

Sorry, didnt noticed your reply. I can totally understand that. I myself will also get annoyed if someone asked me personal questions too. And yes, most of the time we chat about boys, bars, more boys, massage places, and maybe about some tourist places we have been to.

Possibly because most of us have careers, and the more broadly known parts of our lives that we expose to friends and family. While bar going and boy offing are things we only share with people who we trust or others with similar interests? I have occasionally struck up conversations with farangs in bars and been rebuffed - but also met friendly people who were happy to trade news and contacts. I do not really arrange to meet forum members because I combine business and meet ups with personal friends on my BKK trips, and what spare time I have I prefer to spend with regular boys (they are of course my main reason for going!). But definitely not ruling out meet ups out in the future.

I met several members , from  brief chat to day long trips to the woods and it was always universally pleasant and trip routine breaking experience. Looking forward for more repeats and new meetings.

Sometimes suggestion for meeting is declined or ignored and I don't take offence understanding not only need for privacy but also fact that on vacations people have other things to do than converse over beer with stranger sharing the same interests.

One meeting did not materialize I suspect because my look did not meet expectations ,  LOL   I was waiting in the agreed place, farang passed by just glancing over me without stopping  and after 1/2 hr  of no show I just took off but I received  some excuse later so no problem at all.

Yup, people have reasons for meeting or not meeting someone. For me, it is a bit of a step out experience as i am very shy person at firstand usually wont make any small talks with stranger myself. But talking about bars and boys loosen me up as we already shared something that is rather personal in my view, so i find it easy to connect after that fact. And yes, the type of activities can always be determines after the first meet or first few meets, and see if we have more in common than just boys and bars.

Sometimes meeting up can be an anticipated part of a trip.  At the moment, I’m exchanging possible Thailand trip dates with three other Forum members to see if we can coordinate or overlap visits.

Can i join in the exchange lol. Though i rarely plan ahead. But itll give me some options of dates that i can join in later haha.

Answer is "yes" but best through PMs.

Back in Pattaya now.  Would be pleased to meet any established members who have posted intelligently.

Compared with the new year period, I note the following advantages:

1  Increased response from boys on apps.   As the average bar boy does not plan beyond today, anyone already fixed up tends not to reply quickly.  The speed of response, frequency of response and number of boys chasing me has improved.  I can be more selective.

2 Fewer people.  Easier to walk up the street.  I can saunter down to the beach at any time and get a lounger at my preferred concession.

So for anyone with a completely free choice in when to travel, maybe it is best to avoid the new year period.   However, for anyone with enforced time off work around that time, I think Pattaya still beats being at home in winter.
