In Bangkok, westerners, including the younger and older expat residents or tourists, will often visit DJ Station and hang out in Soi 4. That can be an opportunity to meet people. Stranger Bar on Soi 4 gets a good number of younger western expats and although Maggie Choo's on Sunday night is in my experience mostly locals/Asian visitors, there are certainly a good number of westerners there - again, tending towards the 20's-30's.
