Bangkok Trip Report 2018: I Get Really Greedy Edition

It's good to be back guys!

My first replies:

Might I also suggest that your trip reports to any country are very welcome and in the Main Forum whenever or where ever you have the time to post even if short stories!

Thanks Scooby for the support.  I'll think about putting reports of other countries. I have been to a lot this year and would love to share a bit of it.

Welcome back Namzu ! I agree with you Brazilian and Colombian boys are the most sexy in the world.

It is maddening how sexy they are. I can't get over it right now.

great report as always and ending with your trademark suspension  but I have a question: what the hell you need all those plush elephants from Crowne Plaza for ? Don't you care for environment?

I have all of them in a drawer in my house, along with all the amenity kits I get from flying so much. I will need to throw these away at some point. Right now I am amassing a collection.

I have elephant from Crowne Plaza and a turtle from old Conrad Hilton or whatever they call it now. But I don't, alas, have ShanBoy.

Namazu, will make you tender offer: one vintage elephant and one very old turtle for your one experienced ShanBoy.

Offer will remain in effect until until you relent or I learn to talk and write Thai--whichever comes first.

Hahahaha. I mean I can get you together with ShanBoy if you want. You can keep the vintage elephant. I got so many of those.

Thanks for the report...it’s the filigree of the details that make your trip spinning a cut above most others (e.g. mine).

I think you are the first to mention that X-Boys is now G-boy. Looks to be close to Moonlight.

Oh, agree with you on Excelsior Tailors, they’ve been my Bangkok shop stop for longer than I want to remember.

OMG you used the word filigree. Such an awesome word. Thanks for the compliment. And it is X-Size that is now G-boy, not X-boys. And with Excelsior Tailors, I like them, but I still prefer my tailor in Pattaya. But since I don't find myself in Pattaya lately I go to Excelsior.  They are pretty consistent.

You are genius ! Managed  to have post with all those numbers and figures to be still vivid and entertaining.

Enjoy your travels !

This is my life. Breathe life to numbers. It has served me well.

If i were to follow this index, i would never had left my place at all, except for long time (overnight), and definitely for the gogobars experience. Food is cheaper here, hotel roughly the same price, though plane ticket is cheap. Short time in bkk can last 30-2hours or so but over here, we pay by hour, and a full service are around rm210 ( ~1.7k baht, rm 1.23 = 10 baht). Since many boys working here are from outside, with varying quality, that value can range from rm150-400 for 1 hour. Overnight can range from 700 ( 5.7k baht) and up. I can say ive never had overnight here, as i dont really stay at hotel at my place, usually the mb i took is either at the massage centers or have their own hotel room (budget hotel). So, at 3k baht overnight plus off fee, its still cheaper to get overnight in bkk by 2k per night compared to my place. Short time depends on quality and time, if u take 2 hour, then bkk is cheaper, at 1 hour, here is cheaper. Factor in hotel and flight, id say about even for bkk if i only do overnight lol. And of course quality of boys i bkk makes it all worth the while lol.

I think if one lives close or next to a "Monger Location" then it is always economical to go to that country, and uneconomical to go the other countries. Kind of like Mexico is to the USA. But you are right, no matter what country we are looking at, it is the boys that make it all worthwhile. I find the if I want maximum relaxation and service then Bangkok is my go to country. It's sort of a vacation with lots of sex, versus a sex vacation, which to me is what Brazil and Colombia are. I never go through the motions iwth sex in those countries. It's always balls to the wall, no hold barred passion.

try  to remember that  on my trips specially when comes to meals and transportation, whoring is another matter  but no,  I'd not pay 5000 baht for hour of fun anywhere preferring to wait until I get to Thailand and blew the same for the whole night / drinks and off fee included.

And sometimes, paying $1000 overnight for a lovely local American boy is more economical, if you count the vacation time one must spend when going to Thailand. I often neglect the fact that vacation time costs me money too, even if it is a cost that I never see, because I just take it and never think about the fact that since I am a salaried guy.

Very nice post about that index, but it isn't correct for my situation. If you only do short time, so not overnight, the index reduces immensely: then in stead of doing 7 * 1000 for California, you need to do 7 * 250. And gone is already a large part of the gain.

So in my case it would still be profitable to go to Bangkok, but the index would be far lower than 5.54.

Indeed, auxiliary costs like off fees and drink fees in Thailand, or Cabina fees and entrance fees in saunas in Brazil, are costs that may need to be put into the index. This might make it a more even playing field between the two countries, as off fees and drink fees are more expensive than the auxiliary fees in Brazil.

Perhaps this whole topic merits it's own thread rather than pushing into one with Numazu's wonderfui trip reports.

My "index" was a money boy tip to gdp per capita ratio, although I also reference to the minimum wage.

Indeed, I should've made it its own post. Oh well.  Making the index relative to local GDP is a good measure for the money boys for sure. Kind of like when Colombian or Brazilian money boys who go to Hong Kong and eclipse the local money boys. They can get more in HK than what they can in their home countries.

I had never thought of making this comparison, possibly as I do not hire escorts back home as it has no appeal, but it provides an interesting insight.

...

My insight from Numazu's Index is that my best chance of consistently keeping in shape (while having fun) is to visit Thailand more often.

So now I need to go beyond the Index and do some sort of regression analysis to determine how much more time I should spend in Thailand.

Any of you math enthusiasts have a formula for that?

Is there an angle here for the Tourism Authority of Thailand and medical systems everywhere ("forget the pills, let me prescribe a week in Thailand")?

I have thought about doing an analysis on how long you should spend in any location to break even to what you spend at home, and how many more money boys it takes for both home and Thailand or wherever for this break even analysis.

And its awesome that Thailand serves as motivation for you to keep in shape. I know a few people who do this, or thinking about doing this.  This alone makes going to Thailand an even more value proposition, and the presence of awesome boys is just icing on the cake.

An interesting discussion. I'd add another factor which makes Thailand a good choice. It relates to safety and confidence. As a regular in Thailand for more than twenty years, I feel entirely safe when offing and meeting via apps...confident that the authorities won't intervene in my pleasure and that the guy I meet, if treated appropriately, will not turn nasty or manipulative. I am happy to pay for this.

There is a flipside, I know someone who thinks Thailand money boys have more drama than the latino money boys. And Colombia and Brazil do get a bad rap in terms of safety. But my experience has been overwhelming positive, in Latin America or Thailand, but it depends on the person. In the end again, your mileage my vary. We are spoilt for choice and lucky to have a lot of countries to enjoy boys in.

So i tried to do some excel spreadsheets comparing some costs of services between kuala lumpur vs bangkok tailored to my own habit. It includes massages cost as well, with a minimum and maximum for each category (normal massage, gay massage, money boy (little or no massage in kl vs gogo boy in bkk).

For massages, its further divided into time spent, 60-90-120min. Without even considering hotel costs and air travel, it seems like there is two categories where its cheaper for me to do in bkk compare with in kl, one is the normal massage prices, where its slightly cheaper. However for gay massages, for 60min duration, its about the same, anything longer, its cheaper here.

Also worth to mention, aside from normal massage, everything else is illegal here.

Massage is an avenue that I think Thailand is head and shoulders over anyone else in the world. If you are looking for great sensual massages, Thailand cannot be beat.

true but being on the road is  for me as much part of vacation fun as being at destination, I count vacation time from time I close my door to time I open it again upon return

I also want to thank you for mentioning the Moonlight Facebook videos, Numazu. I was not that interested in visiting Moonlight because it was new. But the guys in the videos look like models from Jupiter. I will definitely visit next time I'm in Bangkok.

As with any maths formula - experiential use will only improve its utility.  One more round of adaption and It'll be ready for the Fields Medal ( that's mathematics version of the Nobel prize).

that's funny how different we all are.

For me fact that bar is new is main reason to place it on top of list to visit

For regular trippers like yourself vinapu and like what i insipred to be, new things excites us. But for those for the first time visiting, or have a very short time in bkk, they would want to visit a bar that is tried and tested highly recommended bars, and avoid bad ratings or mixed review or uncertain new bars.

makes sense although mine first was unreviewed by me one on semi -deserted stretch of Rama IV, chosen because I was pretty sure eyes of half of Bangkok are following me where I'm going, LOL

I don’t necessarily agree. Just because someone goes somewhere and has very positive or negative review of a place doesn’t mean you will have the same experience. We spent all this time, money and travel getting there, check it out for yourself.

You don’t need to stay, and most places are in the same neighborhoods. Easy to go place to place. We all have different ideas of fun. Check it out.

I do that too, but i also use ratings and reviews to set my priorities. When travelling, i usually dont like a strict schedule, but like to go with the flow, but i also have lists of places i want to go to arranged in an order of the most to the least places i wanted to go, grouped by locations. This is only true for first time visit, where i usually want to visit all the places that is recommended as much as possible and im usually flushed with choices with not much time. On the other hand, if its my second or subsequent visits, and if i stay much longer than 3-4 days, i would like to go to places that are more unique and tailored to what i really want to see and maybe just wander around looking for places to watch sunrise/sunset, or restaurant to chills, or off beaten places not usually frequented by tourists. I guess its really depends on my mood lol

I always wait for a positive review on these forums before visiting somewhere new! :D

after offing few stars acting on recommendation and being disappointed and offing few I was strongly advised against and being very happy I did I register recommendations but still act on what I see.

One may find lousy masseur in classiest place and perfect one in dingy dump, the same goes with bars.

There's that thing called chemistry which may cause one to salivate about boy somebody else may even not notice.

So register our recommendations but act on what your eyes will see. Keep in mind both boys and us are human beings and we have better and worse days as well.

Posted

for sure chemistry is important. And if you're an attractive guy with a nice body and friendly attitude that likely helps a lot...as the case with our prolific poster here

Posted

Usually the attractive Thai guys with a nice body aren't friendly at the contrary they're arrogant and greedy.

what movie you are talking about? That's too harsh

Sure there are arrogant , lazy and greedy boys but I don't think it's much of  correlation between and attractiveness and friendliness and for good reason - while we can generally agree what makes boy friendly, what is attractive is matter of endless contention.

You may not even give  a second glance to a boy somebody else is dreaming day and night.

As for greedy part , if boy is sought after and offed night after night can we blame him for cashing in  on his short lived popularity ?

We may not be happy and refuse to pay demanded amount but I don't see any entitlement to expect stunner  should be  be happy with the same amount  boy next door with 5 offs a month will be.

Wow a lot of pictures in this very informative installment of day 2. Thanks for sharing. I dont see tam anymore as the model for moonlight, i guess they always change their models from time to time, though with that choreography, itll be hard to simply change people often.

Very yummy boys indeed. And really, they are more impressive live then in photos, I can assure you.

*********

"Come 3 Pay for 2" - is I am assuming get 3 masseurs for the price of two. I would definitely get this promo when I get the chance. And I wouldn't

I still have  afresh memory of Moonlight models and agree fully that in flesh they look MUCH BETTER than in the photos.

But for me not even close to forking out 1500 off fee neither 4000-5000 tip ( ok , one of them , tattoed , second from left in the back row perhaps warrants 5000 for long time midnight till noon but still not such off fee ). I wish them good luck though.

******

at My Hero 'come 3 pay 2 " rather means that third massage will be free but nothing stops us from crowding 3 boys instead of 2 and ask for a discount.

I don' t see Tam anymore as the model for moonlight,

I also noticed absence of Tam #60 , best looking of them all
