Weekly Report on Thailand will be omitted this week

The weekly report for Thailand for the week of December 31, 2006 will not be published, unless one of the regular contributors has something special he feels should be published without a fulll report. I have just been released from the hospital where they expect to install a pacemaker next week which should deal with the massive confusion problems I have recently encountered.

If you have something you feel "must" be covered now, please contact Boxer@boxertravels.net, and if he and Idaho2000 agree it is sufficiently important, they can publish a special edition. Hope to see you next week after some surgery. -- Allen (G.P.)

I'm sure I speak for everyone when I wish you the best of luck for your surgery and a speedy, full recovery.

You're certainly speaking for me! Get well soon GP - we miss you already.

Thanks, G.B., for the kind remarks and for the many kindnesses over all the years. I think they found the trouble -- heart problem, not brain problem, but blood must properly feed the brain -- it worked great while on I was on a temporary pacemaker, but the permanent one needs approval of an insurance company in California which despite at least two phone calls with the head surgeon at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya (who I understand graduated #1 in his class from one of California's most outstanding medical schoolsl so there certainly wasn't difficulty in speaking through an interpreter). Dr Manoon feels approval is certain to come fast after the long holiday weekend in the US

I sure hope so.

Thanks again. All the confusion that caused me to enter the hospital has returned, and I can't rely on myself for memory (Couldn't even remember Stanford University, a truly fine institution in California!!!!) but memory is on and off -- sometimes okay, sometimes unreliable. At least tonight I can type; most times I cannot, and cannot remember e-mail addresses. Quite a handicap. But I am confident the permanent pacemaker will correct it -- even a temporary one worked fine.

Best wishes. Thanks, again, for the many kindnesses.

I have cum off my well earned vacation just to say Allen, if Elton John can have a very Active life as he is active, after having his fitted, Im sure you can do all the things that you were missing out on before.

Thanks for all the wonderful help Allen, you have given me over the years, get out and about soon, If you were having it done at the Bangkok, Bumrungrad International , you would not have any problem, some Insurance companies have Bangkok International Pattaya on a black list, Bumrungrad is the best in the world at any money.

You know things are bad when all we have is news paper stories, I can even write them from here in Banff Canada ;) where we have at least 18" of snow, unlike you in Thailand with at least 6" of man, are you all going around with your eyes closed, i.e how was your party, what bars have you been lately, is Boyz Town or Sunee Busy yet, what restaurants was good for Christmas, where have you all decided to go for New Years, is it Montys or Manhattans..or what.
