Soi Twilight Visit on June 1

Recommended Posts

I visited Soi Twilight last night.  I went to three gogo bars and the stages were all very sparse. There were even fewer customers.  Even in Dreamboy, there were tons of seats available before and during the show.

I went looking for a date but left alone.  Not one boy I saw on any stage caught my interest.

not very encouraging on both accounts in view it was Friday, it may be cost of letting those closure rumors to spread without any reliable information and people may start to pass visit there away

It's not an excuse, but because it's slow season some of the bars have let guys go home for a while or otherwise take time off (take their stint as a monk, etc.).  Saves the bar from having to pay them.

Some of the boys are badly needed for the new planting season in the fields in the villages. Mama and Papa are getting old whilst hired hands are getting more expensive and scarce.

But when all the farm work is finally over, the boys will be back with some nicely toned muscles and tan skin.

I should have added:  I have been to Soi Twilight every year during "low season" for over 15 years.  Not once, ever, have I seen such a dismal display of variety of boys and lack of customers in each bar I visited.

Yes, the foreign boys have gone back to their home countries to help their parents harvest rice.

The regular Viet guy whom I'm seeing is away for 10 days. But he will be back in Bangkok when I visit in 2 weeks' time! :)

Boyztown last night was also very quiet and this was Saturday night and very good weather.

Just for fum I was sitting people watching from 7 to 11 p.m. and need to say people to watch were mostly boys coming to work and massage boys, not a passing traffic. What was saving a night were Chinese and Japanese heading for BBB. From my vantage point I'm pretty sure that none of Ambiance nor Copa masseurs got any client within that time .

I even feel sorry that at least I did not step in but had massage earlier as one of Copa guys was head turner but none of those who inquired about massages actually took him in.

Yet, somehow they are able to pay the rent for their room, to pay for food every day, to pay for their internet on their mobile phone, to buy new clothes now and then. I think they don't have that many extra fixed costs (I think for example they don't have to pay health insurance). So looks to me that with giving a one hour massage every day you can survive in Thailand. So with a 6 hour work week in Thailand you can survive (I assume one day in the week they take a day off, so 6 * 1 hour = 6). I wish I had a 6 hour work week and was able to survive. I need to work 36 hours a week. In Western countries it is (for most people) totally impossible to work 6 hours and survive without government aid. Thailand is in this way a richer country. It has managed to create a society where without government aid you can support yourself with only 6 hours work a week. I wish I was living in such an affluent country where this was possible.

Compare that to what I know from Western Europe. Every day you go to work. You work 8 hours (and that is really being productive for 8 hours, not 6 of these 8 hours just sitting on a chair outside). And then end of the month you have a salary and for the lower middle class jobs after subtracting the fixed monthly costs, there isn't that much left to spend. They can't travel 3 times a year to Thailand for example.

If you are talking about money boys, you are totally wrong.  In the USA, a guy can easily work 6 hours per week and make a nice income doing the same business as you referred.  That is not the type of job you and I may have, but I have seen many able to do it. And, lets now forget that the 6 hours is not a for sure thing.  Many do not get offed for days or weeks.  It is not as easy as you make it sound. Or, perhaps I misread what you said.

Yes very good looking money boys can earn a lot in the West when they are still in their prime age.

But look at the many many massage places in Thailand. Most (women and men) sit many hours outside on a chair. Sometimes they have a client. I am pretty sure without happy ending they can support themselves with only a few massages every week. I was not assuming these Boyztown massage guys all have massages ending in happy endings. I think it isnt needed to support yourself.

What non sex related job in the West can make you support yourself for 6 hours a week?

Well, are they sitting for hours for work?  If so, is that not what a security guard does?

If you think for one sec that a non-sex massage person makes more than 300 baht tip for a massage, I have some ocean front property in Arizona I want to sell you.

Ok fair enough.  I just think with so many massage places and so many people employed there (some clearly above their primee age 18-25) you would think many only have massages and have no clients wanting happy endings from them.

My definition of a prime age for a Thai male is over 28. lol

You are the exception. Not me :-)

In general people around 18-25 are considered to be in their prime age for sexual attraction.  Of course there are always exceptions: you have for example people who get turned on by elderly people (like 70+), but these people are exceptions. Most human beings prime attraction age is around the early twenties. Evolution took care of that.

I had massage with one of Scandic boys last afternoon - he told me  he did not have a customer in 3 weeks, that's THREE.

I view of what I saw on Saturday I  believe him and we are talking about fairly well known and outgoing boy.

If I'd eliminated guys over 25 from my massage options over the years, I would have missed out on some memorable experiences.

if you ask me , if i eliminated guys over 25 from my diet in Thailand I  think I could count all my boys taken over the years on one hand

Good thing age isnt much of a concern for me, if the guy is 40 or 20, as long as they have the quality i seek for, wouldnt mind them at all. It just happens that many of the guy that have the quality i seek are 30 and above, and many actually lie about their age on first meeting when they dont really have to lol.

Now that Dick's is closed in Soi Twilight, is there a good place to eat and observe what is going on there now?

Maxi’s . Across from Bangkok Massage and X-Size. Lots of boy watching

On Friday night dead, dead, dead. Yes, they had customers, but not much boy candy!
