Guest Thaiquila Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 I have read a lot online about getting a Thai a visa to the USA, but there is one thing I can't seem to find out. If the Thai is given a visa, how long does he/she have before he/she has to travel. In other words, how long is the actual visa good for? I need to know how long ahead of time I can put in the application. Thanks, Thaiquila Quote
Gaybutton Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 how long does he/she have before he/she has to travel. That's a very good question. I don't know the answer, but the most accurate answer will come from the US Embassy in Bangkok. If you are located in Thailand, give them a call at 02-205-4000 and ask for American Citizens Services. I realize you want a visa for a Thai, but that office should have the answer. If you are located outside of Thailand, I still think it's worth springing for a phone call, but you can also try their "Contact Us" form at: http://thailand.us-visaservices.com/Forms/contact_us.aspx Quote
Guest Thaiquila Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 If you are located outside of Thailand, I still think it's worth springing for a phone call, but you can also try their "Contact Us" form at: http://thailand.us-visaservices.com/Forms/contact_us.aspx Well, thanks for the information. I tried the email address and here is automated response I received: "Dear Applicant, Thank you for your interest in the Visa Information Service. Unfortunately, through this Help Desk feature we cannot provide visa information or answer any visa related questions. The Visa Information Service Website is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at http://thailand.us-visaservices.com You must purchase a WEB PIN (12.00 USD) in order to receive visa information online and schedule NIV interviews for a specific date and time. The Visa Information Live Service is available Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Bangkok time), except on designated Thai and U.S. holidays. Live agents can be accessed by dialing 001-800-13-202-2457 (Please note that you must have international phone access). You must purchase a LS PIN (20.00 USD) in order to speak to live agents and obtain visa information and schedule NIV interviews. Visa or MasterCard can be used to purchase a PIN directly from the website or when calling LS. Purchases can also be made directly through a Thailand Post location. A PIN purchased at Thailand Post will not be activated after purchase until the next business day after 1:00 PM. The PIN will allow you to schedule NIV appointments for yourself and up to 4 immediate family members (i.e., spouse, children, parents) residing at the same address. A WEB PIN AND A LS PIN ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE. The LS PIN will allow you to call twice. If you need to call a third time, you will be asked to purchase a new PIN. The Web PIN will allow access multiple times. You can continue to access the website for information only for up to 10 days after your scheduled appointment. You can only cancel or reschedule your appointment twice with the same PIN. If you have not made an appointment in 90 days, your PIN will expire. Your PIN fee is not refundable. Thank you, The Visa Information Service Team" I guess everything really is about money in Thailand. -Thaiquila Quote
