ggobkk Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 This question wouldn't have to be asked if PaulSF was on duty at HM Bar...but he decided it was time to take a sabbatical in the USA. This is a topic close to his heart and I'm sure is being kept informed and hopefully will comment. I had a message from my Vietnamese friend, Van (see trip reports)..I asked if business had been good during the high season and his reply was that the police were active in Twilight and he'd been off work for the past three days while the police were around. This seems to happen regularly and is usually directed toward non-Thai bar and go-go "artists". Update with current information... vinapu 1 Quote
paulsf Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 Yes, it’s true. Just before I left a couple of weeks ago, a few of my Vietnamese friends said the police were hasseling Vietnamese boys for most of the month of December. When bar managers knew police were around they would give the night off to many of the boys. A couple of boys that have worked in Twilight for long time told me that when they go home for Vietnamese New Year in February, they will probably not come back. Their just tired of the uncertainty of knowing if they will work or not. I’ll be back in a couple of weeks and find out more. I saw Van the night before I left and he said he was off that night because of police presence. We talked about it a little then he was off with friends. vinapu 1 Quote
a447a Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 Screwboys used to have many different nationalities working there. The other night the mama-san told me all the guys were Thai. Quote
Jasper Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 On the other hand, Jupiter2018 is hiring more and more Cambodians and Vietnamese. I wonder if it’s anything to do with the fact that owner’s husband is Thai policeman. ggobkk 1 Quote
vinapu Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 On the other hand, Jupiter2018 is hiring more and more Cambodians and Vietnamese. I wonder if it’s anything to do with the fact that owner’s husband is Thai policeman. or with fact that it's very busy bar and can afford to contribute to a bigger cup of tea. I only feel sorry for boys who came to look for some opportunities and now being hounded at somebody's whim. But what we can do ? not much other than offing them. Quote

ChristianPFC Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 The boys could still work online. There are some Vietnamese boys in Pattaya as well (info by a friend on my recent 9-11jan2018 trip). Quote
