chillout Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 My partner and I will celebrate our 15th anniversary in Bangkok this weekend and are looking for recommendations for a nice dinner place for Thai food in the Silom area which is not too over-the-top pricey or a must-go touristy place like Vertigo, State Tower LeBua etc. Thanks in advance! stijntje Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Eat Me Restaurant is one of the best restaurants in the Silom area. It has a great chef. International cuisine. Quite pricey compared to street food Quote
Guest Tomas1576 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Eat Me is an excellent restaurant, but if you want thai food, you will be disappointed, as it is a Western food restaurant. Try Mango Tree, Silom soi 6 instead. Also pricey, but well worth the experience Quote
DivineMadman Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 La Table de Tee is a delightful Thai fusion tasting menu spot that's great for special occasions. http://www.latabledetee.com Le Du is really very very nice Thai food with a modern touch. http://www.ledubkk.com Might be tight to get reservations. Meets my requirements for a romantic dinner spot. ___________ Blue Elephant is considered very good Royal Thai cuisine. Seems a bit stuffy to me. http://www.blueelephant.com/bangkok/ There is a large rooftop restaurant over Central World (the mall). http://www.bangkok.com/magazine/zense-rooftop-bar.htm# It's nice with all sorts of food and not as pricey as some of the fancier sky bars, like the very highly recommended but rather expensive Red Sky over the Centara Grand. chillout Posted December 6, 2017 Author Posted December 6, 2017 Thanks for all your lovely recommendations, will be sifting through them slowly. So many exciting choices, but only one anniversary dinner...but heck, we may just celebrate it as a week-long affair, why not, in that way we’ll just get to savour more than just one if not all of them!! Also heard about the Kitchen Table at the W which, although serving both Thai and international fare, has received some accolades from Thais themselves about the standard of its Thai food. Quote
bucknaway Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Did you guys meet in pattaya? If so I think it would be kinda romantic to eat at the first place you both ate together if it's still standing vinapu 1 Quote
Jasper Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 First Bangkok Michelin Guide announced today. Surprisingly not many Thai restaurants. https://guide.michelin.com/th/en/bangkok/restaurants/ Quote
