reader Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 The following article describes a chain of inexpensive hotels known as "Hop Inn." Being completely unfamiliar with them, I spot checked some Trip Advisor reviews and they seem to rate fairly well among guests. They appear to have numerous locations in the north and northeast regions and other locations around LOS in the price range of $16 US or less with current promotion. From The Nation Book soon and you can stay at any of the 25 Hop Inns across the country for Bt99 per night. The hotel chain is offering the low rate to celebrate the opening of the 25th outlet. Rooms can be booked from June 12 to 14 for stays anytime before October 31. Hop Inns boast consistently high quality and standards based on the brand’s “4 Points Promise” – cleanliness, convenience, comfort and safety. Designed for budget-conscious travellers, every room has a comfortable bed, air-conditioning, TV set, work desk and refrigerator. The hotels have secure parking, CCTV, key-card room access and a coffee corner. The 25 great locations include Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lampang, Udon Thai, Khon Kaen, Krabi and Had Yai. pong Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 Mostly similar to say IBIS-Budget here in EURope or any of the loads of other budget-hotel-chains. Traditionally Thai HTLse were in centre town, near train/busstations and run by Chinese. These are more aimed at cardrivers and thus often at edge of town near the motorway/highway. Picture is a little deceiving-superwide angle-expect small rooms. Also I dont know how well they cope with age, chain exists for some 5 yrs now and aging seems to be a perpetual prob with any Thai building. Normal price is mostly 6/800 bt/nite/roomonly (max 2 people), but they indeed very often run promotions. Quote
ChristianPFC Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 I noticed several of them during my travels, but didn't have a chance to stay in one of them. Quote
GWMinUS Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 They also have hotels in the Philippines. In Manila the lowest rate I see is US$26. About 900 TB. I have stayed at the Tune Hotel near the airport. Very basic and small room. But fine for one night stop over. I think now it is re-branded as Red Planet, but charging US$51... Quote
Guest Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 800 baht for a room in Chiang Mai in December. Only just outside the square part, seems like good location & good value. However, they do not have a room safe listed in the specifications, so that would be a deal breaker for me. Quote
