Ill be in BKK in June and so far here is what I have planned...

Mall-Friday afternoon....looking for suggestions'

If I dont go to a mall I plan to have tea at Hotel Indigo

Rest up for the night

Asiatique during the night before heading to Khaoson Rd-food, massage/pedicure, some shopping

Saturday-Chatuchuk Market morning and afternoon

Definitely getting a massage here...

Depending on how tired I am I plan to go on some type of tour after Chatuchuk

Looking forward to getting a show-definitely want to do a Calypso/ladyboy show

More shopping on Khaoson Rd depending on how tired I am

Sunday is my birthday and I plan to pamper myself all day...

Spa day, luxury lunch somewhere nice...

I am still planning Sunday

Monday I plan to rest up...see some sights

Planning a river/dinner cruise

Any suggestions you guys want to offer are definitely welcome...

This will be my second trip in BKK and I am very comfortable in the city and getting around...

You know Calypso is in Asiatique, right?

You can do touristy shopping there before the show.

If you are interested in ladyboys, why don't you go to specialised ladyboy go go bar? I think you will have a fun time rather than just watching a lip synch show.

"Obsession" at Nana plaza is a ladyboy only bar.

I understand Chatuchak but shopping on KhaoSan Rd? I never understood why that place has such pull on some visitors.

For river/dinner cruise I suggest Ayuthaya trip , one way by bus return by the boat or other way around.

Made day trip do Kanchanaburi of river Kwai fame.

Better do survey of newly opened Boy66 bar and Jupiter after move for us , fuck Asiatique , you have malls at home I guess.

Visit Muang Boran to get good overview of Thailand's architectural gems.

See Bangkok from top of Bayoke Sky Hotel and upon return visit Platinum and Central Malls if shopping inclined.

See snake milking  at snake farm and pat live cows in Wat Hualampong nearby, visit Hindu Temple on Silom and Vinamek teak mansion as well as Anantha Throne Hall nearby.

Go to Golden Mount by the canal commuter boat and visit Jim Thomson house on return, steps from there you have retail therapy at MBK,

rent a boat and have a canal tour on Thonburi side , take a boy with you for more fun.

have fun

Have a massaage daily and off boy every night

A few things...

NO SNAKES....

Not sure what off boy every night means....

I had a great time in BKK but did not as much sex as I thought I would....just not attracted to slim, fem guys....Or older white gents which is what I saw a lot of in the saunas and in the gay areas of BKK...

The guys who were muscular wanted to interview me for a screw....

Thanks for your suggestions....

Saturday or Sunday night I planned to do a Bangkok by Night Tour-Temples, Markets and Food by Tuk Tuk...

I like Khoason Rd because of the energy, the street food and the availability of getting a massage all over the place....

Sunday afternoon Im thinking of booking a 5 hour Massage and Spa Experience....

Has anybody been to Rod Fai Night Market?

I have seen enough temples and Buddhas, they are essentially all over the place....maybe one that stands out....

Saturday-Chatuchuk Market morning and afternoon

There may not be enough of interest at Chatuchak to fill a morning and afternoon,  unless you are desperate to accumulate cheap stuff to take back home.

Chatuchak market is ok for at the most 3 hours and it will be as hot as hell during the time of your holiday.

You find plenty of videos of "Obsession" at Nana plaza on youtube.

Here you can fast-forward and stop at any time you have enough.

I've only been once. It was fun, hot and exhausting. Is it just me or are all the markets selling the same crap? Nice to visit once or twice but nothing worthwhile buying. I'd only go back to eat some food

going to bar or massage , paying so called ' off fee ' and taking boy you fancy  with you to accompany you  with whatever activities you are planning that night , evening and next morning, that's  called "long time"

or keeping him for hour or two , having good fuck or whatever you fancy , that's called ' short time"

Has anybody been to Rod Fai Night Market?

Talad Rot Fai Ratchada? Back of Esplanade shopping mall.

Yes I have been a few times.

If you like street foods, you'll love there.

My favourite is salt grilled fish.

It's mainly street food and bars with live bands and always packed with young Thais friends and couples. There aren't many farangs but some Asian tourists.

IMHO  Tuk Tuks are dangerous in Bangkok traffic, I wouldn't go near one

Not only are they dangerous, they are noisy, they contaminate, they will take you to unwanted Gems shops and they will rip you off ....steer well clear.

but for new visitors they can be fun and kind of essential Bangkok experience , warts and all, the same like motorsai taxis

Agree with Vinapu.

The fact is that no self respecting tourist would leave Thailand without riding on Tuk Tuk. lol

Judging by the tour name, he is using a popular night tour of Tuk Tuk experience.

For me, Tuk Tuk epitomises Bangkok - Mad, Bad and Dangerous!

Bangkok bad and dangerous?

Then I wonder how you'd classify Johanseburg, South Africa or San Pedro Sula,  Honduras

ESSENTIAL Bangkok experience? Smart travelers are those who return home unhurt!

In my first visit to BKK I rode a tuk tuk with a guide who took me on a tour.  I found these vehicles had nothing of "romantic" but are a dangerous contraption, an example of poverty in a third world country.  I have never stepped into these things a second time.

To clarify for the Bangkok newbies, I quoted Lady Caroline Lamb's words to describe Lord Byron " Mad, Bad and Dagerous to know" in relation to Bangkok because of the city's addictive allure and chaotic beauty.

I didn't mean to say that Bangkok is particularly bad or dangerous city to visit as a tourist.

Jeez some people would really better stay at home! If you're that worried about getting injured taking a tuk tuk ride in Bangkok, I wonder what will happen once you realize that the country as a whole isn't much safer? People got electrocuted in swimming pools, should we add staying out of swimming pools to the travel advisory?

Posted

I would never die on the back of a motorcycle taxi, as they tend to weave in and out of the traffic.

But a tuk -tuk is ok in Bangkok, as the all day traffic jam means they can only go very slowly. If they hit something, or vice-versa, it is unlikely any damage will be done.

A tuk-tuk in Chiang Mai, however, is another matter.

How poetic!   I like its addictive allure, and to orderly explore its chaotic beauty  :)
