reader Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 From Khaosod English BANGKOK — Getting between downtown to Don Mueang International Airport will become easier when two new airport shuttle routes launch Monday. For 30 baht, travel between the airport and two new destinations: Lumphini Park downtown and Sanam Luang in the old quarter. The A3 service will stop at Lumphini Park, Ratchaprasong, Pratunam and Din Daeng before heading to the airport by tollway. The A4 line runs between the airport and Sanam Luang (Royal Grounds), stopping at Khaosan Road, the Democracy Monument, the Phanfa Bridge, Lan Luang, Yommarat, Tha Prachan and Tha Chang along the way. The two lines come two years after the introduction of bus routes between the Bangkok Bus Terminal (A1) and Victory Monument (A2). They are more affordable options than the Airport Limo Bus service, which can be booked online for 150 baht per person. The routes launch May 1 and will operate 7am to 11pm daily. At the airport, find the buses outside Terminal 1’s exit No. 6 or exit No. 12 in Terminal 2 http://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/transpo/2017/04/28/new-shuttle-routes-don-mueang-airport-open-monday/ vinapu, ChristianPFC, eurasian and 1 other 4 Quote
Guest Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 Thanks for the info. However, going to the end of the BTS line on the skytrain above the traffic & then taking a #29 bus is already remarkably easy. I believe an A1 bus is also possible from the end of the BTS line. Quote
ChristianPFC Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 With airplanes starting and landing all time of the day or night (quotation needed), there should be sufficient demand for a public transport service that runs 24/7, but there is none! My arrival or departure was during daytime throughout in the past, but when I come back from Taiwan at 2 am, this will be the first time with no public transport available. Quote
pong Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Yesterday eve had to wait long time at/near Chatuchak for next bus-there pased some 20 A1 buses in the meantime-the DMK-Mochit BTS express, most were fuill to standing-nearly 1/minute!. The A3 and A4 cist 50 bt each, atv the mo A4 to Sanam Luang is quite frequent too-maybe due to the enormous crowds visitng it for the royal crematoriium. @z909: advantage of A1 is that it starts near exit of DMK and is empty when starting at Mochit-the 29 Or 510-AC and better) is always full to standing. There is also 538 from Vict.Mon-via Tollway and thus much quicker. Chris:-this is long overdue, but at main rd (and you should know that from your first stay nearby Laksi)-Vipavadee there IS 24 hrs bus-29. Besides that-after having passed immigr etc and late plane, it will be 3.am-and buses for normal daytime start running by 4.00-trains too. Quote
