Will Visit bangkok this may for 5d4n and i plan to offed guy from tawan and jupiter for short time (tawan 2 night and jupiter 2 night) and i put budget 14,000 baht for that (3500 for every offed including 1 drink and bar off fee)..

Is that any chance to get cheaper than that let say 3000 baht for 1 offed overall?

Please give advice..tq

Others will have to advise on those specific bars.

You can sneak in at under 3000 from some of the other bars.  1500 tip, perhaps ~1200 for 2 drinks & an off.

Finding your boy on a phone app for 1~2 nights can save money.    Although if it's a short trip & you've invested a lot in flights & hotels, paying a little extra for the full gogo experience makes sense.

Alizizou... I now understand why you are opposed to long term.

The longer the heavy muscle bodies lie on your bed, the more damage they do to it... :)

Makes sense.

Alizizou, you lucky to have offed that guy. anyway some of the tawan guys are asking 3k nowadays. this despite the dwindling number of customers. some might say the price increase was actually caused by the decrease in customers. anyway that's thai logic for you.

have a great trip

Yep and its not just confined to the bars.  Markets are doing the same thing seeming to bet that if they quote outrageous prices one tourist will bite.  Got to the stage that I don't even bother looking anymore. At the markets that is! :)

I guess you have to strike a balance between working your budget and not being mean.  I think it is probably unlikely any guy would perform well if things start out with haggling over not very large sums of money.  Similarly I'd be pretty turned off by quotes of outlandish prices.  Just kills any kind of mood.

I don't think you will have problem of finding willing boys for such short time tip from either bar.

nothing wrong with offering quotation and sticking with it , it works both ways i.e they may  dismiss it if they have good offing streak recently or gladly take it if they are kind of hungry.

I had a case when Tawan boy extracted 3500  promised tip from me , my first that high ever and still dumped me before we even left bar but also one when  for 3000 boy stay with me from 10 p.m. till noon next day with no hint to leave  until I told him   he needs to go because I'm leaving BKK.

In general my advice I'm giving freely to myself is , rather overpay boy you like than save money on one you don't.

I am adding this to my list of Vinapu advice and tips for the seasoned (and unseasoned ) traveler.  It should rank with the "smile" rule and putting different denominations of bhat in different pockets.

You should pay a fair price, but I find tourists with more money than sense keep inflating prices to the point that they're ridiculously high for the local economy. You pay your fair price for a hotel, airfare ... you don't think oh well I'll pay an over inflated price. Why do this when it comes to off-ing. I pay 1,200B and that's it, for 1 hour of fun.

You need to remember the average wage is 14,000B a month, or about 650B a day and then unskilled work pays on average 6000B a month or 300B a day. Would you pay a full days wage for the same back home? Or a full weeks wage or more. Crazy.

Another thing to remember is Thai logic is to increase the price when their fewer tourists which is the opposite of the rest of the world.

Taxis are another example. They'll tell you it's a fixed amount say 200B and no meter when you know it's around 80B for the trip. I always sat "meter on please" and get out and get a taxi that does have the meter on and then reward them for being reasonable and hassle free. You need to do the same with the money boys also. Dumb tourists only end up inflating prices for us all. Cheers and play safe out there.
