Guest frequentflier Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 1600bht from Bangkok airport to Pattaya is expensive, regardless of good looks. Quote
Guest ryanasia Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Yeah, that is true. I can get jst about anybody if sex isn't involved. Prices of more than $100 a day are simply quite crazy for a driver. On these kind of plans you have to still pay for sex and then pay the driver. This will add up to sums that aren't insignificant. The gay tour driver combo will ensure you pay way more than market value. Pay the boy you want to fuck and don't pay the pink tax anywhere else. It won't be the cheapest and that is guaranteed. Quote
Moses Posted January 31, 2017 Author Posted January 31, 2017 1600bht from Bangkok airport to Pattaya is expensive, regardless of good looks. It depends on class of service. Simple taxi you can hire for 1000-1100 Limo puck up sedan car (like Toyota Camry) normal price are 1300 - 1700 Limo pick up SUV car normal prices are 1600-2200 Toyota Fortuner is SUV - premium class, comfortable and powerful, but also fuel consuming car, so SiamRoads offers competitive service to customers who prefer to use comfortable premuim class cars. What class of service you will choose: taxi, simple, normal or premium limo - it is up to you. vinapu Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 it is the same with car like with hotels, some are content with 30 $ a night at Pavillion Place or Nantra Silom, others wish to treat themselves with more luxurious and much costlier Crowne Plaza or Dusit Thani Moses, ggobkk and ChristianPFC 3 Quote
ChristianPFC Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Why anyone would need a SUV to get from airport to hotel, or wants to have a handsome driver, is beyond me, but the free market will sort this out. Quote
vinapu Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Why anyone would need a SUV to get from airport to hotel, or wants to have a handsome driver, is beyond me, but the free market will sort this out. while broadly speaking I agree with you, I can't see harm in having a handsome driver, just paying premium for that must be left to market forces Quote
traveller123 Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Why anyone would need a SUV to get from airport to hotel, or wants to have a handsome driver, is beyond me, but the free market will sort this out. Perhaps i will be an example of why someone might need an SUV. Next Christmas my partner and I will be meeting two friends at Swampy and then we will go to Koh Samet. They will be tired after a flight from the UK, so four people and their luggage are going to need an SUV or mini bus. Any recommendations? Quote
ChristianPFC Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 You need a big car, but not a SUV = Sport Utility Vehicle. If time is more important than money, they hiring a car is the best solution here. Going by public transport would require at least two changes (shuttle to airport bus station - bus to Rayong - bus to pier). traveller123 1 Quote
witty Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 The Toyota Fortuner would be ideal for a gaggle of gay guys taking a long trip on the road. Quote
firecat69 Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 As has been discussed many times on this Forum. If you arrive into BKK late at night and are going to Pattaya, hiring a private car is the only logical option. At least from recommendations here you know you will get a safe car and driver for the same you will pay for a taxi , that you have no idea what you will be getting. If you are staying in BKK then depending on time you have a couple of options although if you want to have some fun, they why would you waste time saving a small amount of money vs. taking taxi direct to Hotel. ggobkk Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Last week, following up on a lead from Numazu, I booked a taxi from P.T. Taxi http://www.pttaxiservice.com/ from The Raya Hotel in Bangkok to the Poseidon in Jomtien/Pattaya and then a return later in the week. Including the tolls, it was 1,100 THB each way. Car was a Toyota Camry equivalent. Driver early each time. I'm sure Moses' option has value and is appropriately priced for the vehicle type. Just more than I needed. Moses 1 Quote

Yes, the main target of our driver are multi-days travels by country - that why we agreed to include him to team. SUV can reach places where normal taxi or sedans can't run normally - hills, remote villages in national parks and so on. Also big cars are more comfortable for long travels - more space, more comfortable seats. DivineMadman 1 Quote
Guest ryanasia Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Too expensive for me Come on now, anybody of limited means can afford to throw away 3,000 Baht a day. Man up and pay the pink tax. Quote
ChristianPFC Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 When I travel in the provinces and don't indulge in the 3 P (pizza/pasta in Italian restaurants, prostitutes, private transport), I spend on average 1000 Baht per day (hotel, food, public transport, entry to national parks or museums). However this is not generally applicable, as speaking Thai helps a lot and my standards for food, hotel, transport are low. DivineMadman, Moses and vinapu 3 Quote
paulsf Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 If I didn't indulge in the 3 P I would just stay in bed with the covers over my head. :) DivineMadman and Moses 2 Quote
