Huncsaba Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Hi boys! Just a quick question: Chialis (or Viagra) legal or illegal in Thailand? Thx for the answers. Quote
Guest ryanasia Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 AFAIK legal by prescription. Sold everywhere illegally but nobody cares. Most gogo bars will buy it for you at a slight premium should you want some. Western pharmacies like Boots stick to the law. Quote
Huncsaba Posted December 20, 2016 Author Posted December 20, 2016 Thx ryanasia, so no problems with the customs control...In January I will be in first time in Thailand and I need many information, your answer was comforting Quote
Guest ryanasia Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Customs won't care at all in the slightest. Quote
Brummbaer Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 There are lots of drugs which are prescription-only in Europe that your friendly Bangkok pharmacist will sell you over the counter. Just take the box or instruction leaflet which specifies the active ingredients into the pharmacy. Then they can check if they have the drug you need, as the pills may be sold under a different name in Thailand. vinapu 1 Quote
Guest ryanasia Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 He is worried about customs only. It is no problem. Once you are in the country prescriptions do not require prescriptions. As I said most gogo bars will have/sell it. Quote
Brummbaer Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I remember staying in a guesthouse in Pattaya once which had a sticker on the bathroom mirror that you could get Kamagra from reception ChristianPFC 1 Quote
anddy Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 clearly legal. Whether or not prescription-only is irrelevant, as freely available regardless. All real pharmacies in Silom area have and sell it, though prices may vary, so asking around a bit can be worth it (seen a 4-pack of Kamagra being sold for 500 vs 400 at others, quite a difference). Lately been going to the pharmacy on Silom very close to Silom Soi 4. Kamagra 4-pack 400, Kamagra jelly 80 Also, there is a Thai-made version available called Sidegra, which is even cheaper. Should be available at all the pharmacies, too, though I got it for 250 from the friendly, cute and sexy doctor of the relatively new (opened June 2016) Silom Pulse Clinic, which is right next to the big Boots next to BTS Saladaeng, i.e. next to the very small Silom Soi 2/1 where G.O.D. is. Same doctor that still has Sathorn International Clinic at Suan Phlu, though I think he personally now is only at Silom. www.silompulse.com = www.sathornclinic.com/ On a related note, this doctor also actively promotes PrEP, which you can get through him at super cheap prices. Original Truvada will only cost around THB 3000 a bottle, the price in Europe and the US is in the $800-1000 range! Generic Thai-made "Truvada" is even cheaper at only THB 1200 a bottle. So if you are on PrEP anyway or wanna get it and are not covered by your insurance, then the annual savings actually pay for the trip(s) to Thailand. ChristianPFC 1 Quote
Guest Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Remember there are counterfeit drugs in circulation. Quote
Guest ryanasia Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Okay if it is legal why don't pharmacies like boots sell it? It could be legal but require a prescription? Anyway all of this is only academic as we all know it is widely available regardless. Quote
Guest 2guys Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Remember there are counterfeit drugs in circulation. Thats what worries me to buy any drugs here. If I knew for sure to get the real stuff, I would buy some, but.... Quote
kokopelli Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 The Thai version of Viagra, Sidegra, is the real stuff and is available at pharmacies other than places like Boots and Watsons.. About 250-300 Baht/pack of 4. Comes in 100mg which you can cut in half and get twice the bang for the Baht. Quote
Brummbaer Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 I'd always opt for buying in a real pharmacy rather than off some guy in the street/in a bar. Chances are much better not to get fakes/counterfeits in the pharmacy. But then I don't buy those pills anyway, as my doctor in Austria tells me Viagra/Cialis doesn't interact well with my blood pressure medication. As I don't want a stroke/heart attack during sex - what a way to go, though - I'll do without. Quote
Guest ronnie4you Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Well, my insurance covers 3 Viagra pills a month. The co-pay is $45. Thank god for insurance. Without it I might have had to pay $15 a pill! Quote
kokopelli Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Cost of one Viagra pill in Thailand is no more than 75 Baht = $2 USD If you insurance co-pay is $45/3 pills that equals $15/pill ? Quote
anddy Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 In my above post I forgot to advise against buying in the street, though that should be pretty obvious anyway. Having said that, I find it highly unlikely that there will be counterfeit Kamagra on the market here, at least in pharmacies. That stuff comes from India and is already so cheap, not much of a point or profit margin faking it. The same goes for the Thai (government) brand Sidegra. Original Viagra is a different story, and the price of that is certainly not 75 baht / USD 2 as kokopelli says,he may mean the knock-offs such as Kamagra and Sidegra. Original-original Viagra is THB 1000+ for a 4-pack, I asked once in a pharmacy. Never bought or tried any of that though, as there is no need given Kamagra and Sidegra, which are working just fine with no adverse side effects (which may vary wildly for each person of course) Quote
kokopelli Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 For clarification, Sidegra, the Thai version of American Viagra, is the same formulation, not a knock off per se, meaning not a cheap or inferior product. anddy 1 Quote
Guest ronnie4you Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 These pills react differently for different people. One thing to check with your doctor is whether they interact with a medicine that you already take. If you don't consult a doctor, then check on the internet using the name of the pill you have along with the name of the medicine. Do that for each medicine you take. Better safe than.... Quote
Huncsaba Posted December 23, 2016 Author Posted December 23, 2016 Thx guys for the many replyes... It will be my first time in Thailand so I have many questions, for example: where are (there are?) public cruising places now (parks, malls, cinemas in Bk, Pattaya and Chiang Mai)? Thx for the ideas. ChristianPFC Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 The Thai version of Viagra, Sidegra, is the real stuff and is available at pharmacies other than places like Boots and Watsons.. About 250-300 Baht/pack of 4. Comes in 100mg which you can cut in half and get twice the bang for the Baht. As far as I know, there are tablets with 25 or 50 or 100 mg active ingredient sold, so you can chose which works best for you. I assume they all cost the same, and then if you find 50 mg works fine for you, buying 100 mg and splitting it in 2 saves you 50%. There are pills that are coated for delayed dissolution, this seems not to be the case with Viagra and generics (they are coated, but it doesn't seem to influence the activity). There is a joke: "Do you know what Viagra looks like from inside?" - "No." - "Neither do I. I always have to take a full pill." (Translates poorly from Germany to English; in German it assumes that the person replying "No" has to take a full pill.) Weisst Du, wie Viagra von innen aussieht? - Nein. - Ich muss auch immer eine ganze nehmen. Huncsaba 1 Quote
