Hi all, we are arriving next week and will be in Thailand over the American election period. We have read that all TV channels are closed and only showing images of the late King.

Is this correct? We are hoping CNN will be broadcasting. Thanks for any info.

CNN is still on. Some other channels are still off but BBC and  CNN are not amongst them.

For a couple of days, all channels were showing Thai movies, programs, and news about their beloved King and the premium channels (HBO, Cinemax, etc.) continued in that manner for a few more days; however, all the English-speaking channels are back to normal now (meaning that occasionally there is something interesting or entertaining to watch but in general we're back to the normal wasteground).

True is still censoring BBC World News.

As soon as an item about Thailand comes on, they cut to a caption saying that service will be resumed as soon as possible.

This is an action by TRUE VISIONS --- nothing to do with the government.

As soon as I can find an email address for True Visions, I will protest at their censoring what I watch and cancel my many years long subscription.

True says it is complying with the morning period.
