I was a bit too figurative but it was kind of shocking, not as much that he dumped me but that I was  dumped despite  agreeing to highest LT tip I ever paid. As consolation prize I saved 500 on off fee  and another 500 on tip as I had another boy in reserves.

as usual Thai / actually Phet is Lao / boys are looking better in flesh than on the photos and this is a case with him as well.

He is short but pretty massive so blends in Tawan very well.

 

No I'm not obsessed with him at all but wouldn't mind to be if not his original sin as described above .

At some point on this trip you referred to CB as your "beloved of the moment".  Since you landed you've had time with BurBoy who was there when you arrived, CB, Grindr Khmer, Mil Guy, Fit Khmer, Gorgeous Khmer, DTG, and a reunion with BurBoy...not to mention almost offs in Siem Reap and Fresh Boys. 

 

Haha if you list all the boys out like that it does look like the butterfly is alive and well, and thriving. I guess its a butterfly of a different sort. Gone are the days that I have a different boy in my bed every night.

Yes he is handsome/cute/sexy, and as vinapu says the boys are usually better in person than in a static picture. The added bonus of the closeness, body warmth and smell, and seeing them smile at you is with more than a thousand pictures. Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and though he wasn't my first choice when i got in the bar, he made sure he was my only choice at the end of the night.

 

For me he is first and only boy who backed from a deal. In May 2015 after all was negotiated and sealed with 3500 LT fee agreed , another first ever for me, all off the sudden he announced that he must go with another client and he dropped me with mouth gasping for an air LOL.

 

No , I don't hold any grudges and gladly will give him another chance, business in business.

 

 

I've never had a boy renege on a deal so maybe I am due for one. Boy from Tawan was the only one who i think I had a problem with in terms of the fee. See last trip report for reference.

Jupiter is still the bar I'd like to solve. I've only offed one boy there and that was a success, but maybe I am too intimidated to try again in fear of getting a diva or a dud. I will get over that, and maybe even get one that is good, even boyfriend experience material. The PMs I've been getting from guys who have had success at Jupiter have been encouraging.

Day 9.8 Screwing with the Boys

 

The vibe inside a gogo boy bar is like a Las Vegas casino. In most of the big ones on the Vegas strip, there are no windows and no clocks, shielding people away from anything that is going on in the outside world. The whole casino is designed to keep people where they are and gamble away their money, without any outside distractions like time, obligations, and weather. A gogo bar is the same way. No windows, probably both to keep the outside from looking in, and for customers to focus on what’s inside, which is the boys, and to spend as much money on them, and the bar, as possible.

 

So I don’t know how many times I’ve left a boy bar in Thailand, all satisfied after seeing a good show, and more often than not with a new boy in tow, only to step out of the bar and see that it is pouring rain outside. I had no idea of course, the loud music and focus on boys make me oblivious to what’s happening outside. BurBoy and I see the deluge of rain before us and think about ways how we can get out of Jupiter. Should we just go back to Crowne Plaza? Should we go to another bar? Should we get an umbrella?

 

We see other customers brave the deluge and scatter like cockroaches into the night. We decide to make a run for it to get to Surawong. We duck into the closest 7-11 just across from Soi Twilight. They had some umbrellas for 150 baht so we buy one. We talk about our options as we leave the store. It was 11:30 PM and in Bangkok time this is like, afternoon, so we had more night ahead.

 

We head over to Patpong and swing into the roofed portion that had the Muay Thai shows and some girlie bars. And we see in front of us the boy bar Screw Boy, with the familiar sign and the poster outside the bar. I wanted to see the show, but I wasn’t sure what the time the show was. I have found that it varies from night to night. I tell BurBoy to ask them what time the show was, and to ask the mamasan inside instead of talking to the tout. There was a tout outside and BurBoy asks him. He seems to refer him to talk to someone inside so we both duck in and he talks to a mamasan. He then tell me “12:30 or 1 morning, maybe.”

 

We go back out and decide to kill the time by going to Soi 4 to get one drink. We walk down Patpong to get to Silom and turn left to Soi 4. Because of the rain the only seating were ones under the roof, and there was a table vacant at Telephone to we duck in there to get a drink.  I get my usual Espresso Martini, and BurBoy gets a gin and tonic. We look around and the customers were mostly farang, some with Thai boys around their arms. We see people coming from Silom running in the Soi, trying to shield themselves from the rain, at the same time checking out the bars. Most of them take one look and leave, others go to Balcony Bar as Telephone was full.

 

We pass the time by talking about future plans. I have one full day left tomorrow before I jet away to farang land once again. My departure date has been in the back of my mind these last few days. This fun has been great but it inevitably ends regrettably. Why do I keep doing this to myself, I often wonder. But I see the boy across the table from me, looking at me with those loving eyes, that smile that was always meant for me, and a hand always reaching for a part of me (a hand, my arm, sometimes my heart). This is why I go here.

 

At 12:20 AM we decide to go back to Screw Boy to watch the show. By this time the rain has subsided enough for us to walk back up Patpong without using the umbrella. I pay for the drinks (350 baht including tip), and we head out. The streets were understandably more subdued tonight that last night because of the rain, or maybe because of the late time.

 

The tout in front of Screw Boy ushers us in and we go in and there were a few more customers than when we got there 45 minutes ago. The good seats in front were taken, and the only ones available were in the back, away from the stage a bit. BurBoy talks to the mamasan because he did not want to sit all the way in the back, so the mamasan takes us to the super front stage left where there were a few seats next to the toilet.

 

If you were a new to Bangkok, having just gone to Jupiter, with its polished stage, optimal stage and hall lighting, great sound system, arranged seating and plentiful waiting and professional waiters to get you your drink and or boy for the night, you would be in for a shock if Screw Boy is your next bar to visit. The bar is kind of dark (which is probably good because I don’t want to see the place in bright lights), the stage lighting seems to have only a few settings, the seating is awkward, the bar is longer than it is wide, with the stage awkwardly on one side of the long way, so if you are on the seats on the other far side its hard to see the action.

 

The flip side though is Screw Boy is probably close to what people have in mind when they think about a typical Bangkok gogo bar. A little bit dirty, and little bit run down, and a lot sleazy. If it was the other way around, and Screw Boy was your first bar, going to Jupiter would be a disappointment, because maybe the drinks are too expensive, the numbers too mechanical, and the boys too frigid, because the boys in Screw Boy are pretty personable. When you first come in they assess you to see what kind of customer you are, and try to entice you on the first minute you come in.

 

We give the mamasan our drink orders and she gives the order to one of the employees in the premises. The mamasan sits down next to Burboy and talks to him for a bit. The view from our seats were crazy close. From our vantage point we cannot see the other customers in the long side of the bar, and we can only see the seats in front of us next to the stage, and the stage itself. As some of you have pointed out, the boys were in their trademark checkered black and white briefs. There was probably 8 boys onstage. Two of them were checking us out, and smiling to entice. I am posting a photo of the stage, again lifted from the Facebook page, taken from the far side of the stage:

 

 

The boys who were here were mostly pretty hot. The four onstage that were tall, lean and sporting a big bulge were pretty hot looking. I point them to BurBoy and he responds back “All man na, no woman. Cannot bottom.” That is probably true. For all I know all of the guys onstage were straight. It doesn’t matter. I wasn’t offing anyone tonight.

 

There was a party of South Asians (I'm guessing?) who came in and it was obvious they were known to everyone in the bar. They were seated in the far side so I did not know what was happening. After 10 minutes one of the customers from that party went to the stage with a bottle of Johnny Walker Red, and one of the waiters had 10 shot glasses that he laid out onstage. The customers fills all glasses with the liquor and the boys onstage, and some sitting with customers, form a line to get their shots in. The first boy takes a shot and the customers gives him 100 baht. Everyone eventually takes their turn, getting 100 baht each time. This is definitely one way to have fun with the boys.

 

One hot boy enters the bar and it was clear he was a working boy. He goes next to the stage on the left side where I see a pile of clothes just heaped next to the stage. He takes off all his clothes except for briefs, and puts on his work uniform, the checkered brief. This bar does not have a locker room for the boys? Its just a pile of clothes in the side? But this was hot to see of course, him disrobing like that. He was probably 25, looks Viet or light-skinned Thai, and had a perfect set of six pack abs. He was handsome, bordering on cocky, and knew what he had to offer. He went onstage to show himself off, and after 5 minutes a customer calls him over to have drinks with him. Popular boy.

 

I focus back on the stage and see a familiar face again. One boy who I offed in Boyzboyzboyz Pattaya was here. He was light-skinned, perfect body, and kind of femmy. He was wearing different underwear, more stylish, but clearly it was for the show. When I offed him he was a good bottom, very passionate, and the body was insane. I wonder what made him move here. Another boy in different underwear joins him next to the stage and they talk. I also recognize him, this time from Hot Male. He was the usual bottom in the fuck show there. Does he moonlight here after Hot Male closes? And its sad that I’ve been going to bars long enough to recognize some of the boys.

 

All the boys leave the stage. The show starts with a coyote boys dance. The former BBB guy, the fuck show bottom guy, and another good dancer, go onstage and dance their asses off. The customer from earlier immediately goes to the stage and gives them their shots and their 100 bahts. The BBB boy came in for seconds and got another 100 baht, and hugs the customer.  After that a set of lady boy numbers go on and the customer gives them all shots each time. This guy sure knows how to have a good time, and obviously had some money to burn. And then this sad clown lady boy does here comedic number (photo from facebook):

 

 

There was a number where three hot young and lean boys with full erections just gyrate onstage. No choreography, no rhyme or reason, but this was a super hot number. The boys were really selling it, the penises were huge (where do they find these boys), and the audience were very appreciative. One was focusing on both of us, looking at both of us while he dances. He couldn’t be older than 23, a body to die for, and a cock that was pointing at us. I have super blue balls right now.  The boy numbers were less polished than Jupiter but more passionate.  The boys all get shots and baht from the same customer.

 

While the numbers were going on the table in front of us was used by the boys to sit down and relax. There were drinks and some ashtrays for the boys to use. It was nice to see the boys just sit and relax and horse around sometimes. The one boy with the big cock who was focusing on us was there too. He was glancing in our direction sometimes. I would catch his look at times. Nothing came out of it. I think he was gauging if he should approach us or not.

 

There was also a fuck show with a well built top, and the bottom was the same Hot Male fuck show bottom. Does he do this for both bars? They start their fucking onstage, but pretty soon they get off stage and go around the bar to ask for tips. They find their way to us  and the bottom rests his arms on my thighs while the top fucks him from behind. BurBoy elbows me to give a tip. I give 100 baht. They move on to the next customer. BurBoy holds my hand and gives me a peck on the cheek. We laugh at the spectacle of it all. This is why I go to Bangkok.

 

The show ends and it was a satisfying one. I don’t want to say it was better than Jupiter. What’s better to you pretty much depends on what you are looking for with your boy entertainment. To me the boy bar space is big enough for both to survive. Both had full houses tonight even though they catered to a different set of customers. Both bars are not for everyone, but both are for me. Hot boys, entertaining shows, and free flowing alcohol are all you can ask for at times. And ye shall receive all of it in Bangkok.

Before I thought you can get fair deals, although expensive, but then slowly (only now I fully realize) dawned on me that they are just screwing me, grabbing as much money and providing as little in return as they (bars and boys) can get away with.

 

Before I though the customer is king, they will accommodate my wishes (always reasonable, if a boy says he doesn't bottom I accept that), but charge me dearly. But then I realized I'm being fooled, and that's a huge insult to me.

 

That event (boy does not want to go with me) eventually lead to me leaving the Soi Twilight scene (except for 2 or 3 visits per year with Farang friends who come for holiday) and taking all my business to Pattaya, online or even better look for free encounters.

While you have a valid point on all accounts I still think soi Twilight is unique place and worth a trip from anywhere to immense inside.

 

You are right to be upset about non-offable boy but no need to be bitter, after all if I remember that  story they did not claim all boys at Scorpion are offable.

 

Yes , both bars and boys are trying to cash in but this is business  with very  little competition at least in BKK , particularly if punters are not inclined to online hook-ups . So yes we have two choices - look for business elsewhere or just gnash a teeth and pay up I guess.

Day 10: It’s Morning in Bangkok

 

Mornings are weird in Bangkok. OK, its probably not weird to the millions who call this city home, but for most tourists and nocturnal locals, the only mornings they see in Bangkok fall between the hours of 12 Midnight and 5 AM. This morning was no exception for us. It is past 2 AM when the show at Screw Boy ends. We’ve had a few drinks in the bar, more than the usual we have at a boy bar. We felt celebratory, and the boys were hot. The hot boy who was eyeing us all night sat beside us and talked to us for quite a bit. He was Thai, 23, and hot as hell. It was fun trying to communicate with him even if his English was not as good as BurBoy’s. BurBoy was fine translating and I gave the boy 150 baht in the end. He’s a good guy and seems super down to earth. And hot as fuck.

 

We leave Screw Boy and see that out in the street that the rain has completely subsided. I ask BurBoy what he wanted to do. Did he want to dance and go to GOD? Did he want to drink some more? Did he want to eat? He decides to look for something to eat on the way back to Crowne Plaza. We choose to go to the Surawong side as we make our way to Rama IV. The streets were now a little bit quiet. Some revelers are walking slowly back to their hotels. Some locals are still hanging around, sitting on the sidewalk. The air is clean and fresh from the recent rain, and it was a little bit cool.

 

BurBoy finds a fruit stand and he gets two things of mango slices and hands one to me and pays for it. I didn’t ask for it but he knew I wanted some. We eat the mangoes on the way back to the hotel, talking about the Screw Boy show and laughing at the spectacle of it all. We finish our mangoes and we stop by the 7-11 on Rama IV close to the hotel and get some snacks. He holds my hand on the way to the hotel. I love these times. It’s the slow walks with BurBoy in the wee hours of the morning that I will miss the most. It’s really the smaller, simpler things that matter the most.

 

We enter Crowne Plaza still holding hands and I get a warm welcome from the night concierge. By now he has seen me numerous times, with god knows how many boys, in the past. But this is the first time he’s seen me holding hands with a boy. He bids us good night as we walk past him to get to the elevators. No judgement or remarks. They have probably seen everything before. We get to the 23^rd floor to the second set of elevators and get up to our floor. We get in the room and I flip the switch for the “Do not disturb” light.

 

BurBoy adjusts the temperature of the zircon to something warmer and he takes off his shirt, shoes and shorts and plops himself on the chaise lounge. I love his golden brown skin and musculature. I do the same (the sight is probably not as an impressive as BurBoy's), and we dig in at snacks and drinks we just bought. We talk for a bit, about the night, tomorrow, the future. I have gotten used to how he talks, and my English has matched his spoken cadence, diction, and verb-noun sentence structure that makes me more intelligible to him.

 

As you would expect by now, we decide to shower together, followed by sex. The sex was passionate and quite long. There is really nothing like staring at half-naked men all night to get you hot and bothered for the sex after. BurBoy turning up the temperature is deliberate. A warm room and bed was more conducive to our physical needs. After it all we take a moment to catch our breath in bed, which was now a tangle of sheets, lube, and our own fluids, sweat or otherwise.

 

It was 4:30 AM, and we shower again to call it a day. He takes some time for his own beauty regimen and we are off to bed. He changes the temperature back to a cooler one because he knew I liked that. We have probably spend 15+ night together overall and he is very familiar to what I like.

 

I wake up at 12:30 PM. We miss everything: the sunrise, the morning, the free lounge breakfast. But who cares when you have the sunrise, the morning, and the most satisfying breakfast you can eat wrapped up in one sweet package. I turn to BurBoy he is still fast asleep, totally under the covers. I know the aircon is too cold for him but he knows that’s the way I like it. I get up and turn up the temperature a bit, and then go to pee. I gargle with some mouthwash that I bought BurBoy and get back to my man.

 

I see BurBoy on the phone and sees me and smiles. “Good morning! You chuck wow na?” I smile, and I head over to him and take off the covers. He wasn’t hard but getting there. I give his cock a good squeeze and pretty soon I feel it grow in my hand. Good boy. I lean over and put it in my mouth for a bit before stopping and going back to bed. He then leaves to pee. He complains that it’s hard to pee with an erection.

 

We decide to get something to eat and then do some shopping again on my last full day in Bangkok. We use the tandem sinks in the toilet to brush our teeth, wash our faces and do our hair. We get dressed and I turn off the “Do not disturb” switch so that the maid can clean our mess. We pass by the Crowne plaza lounge on the way to the elevators. Breakfast ended at 10:30 AM. We wasted the breakfast today. No problem.

 

We head over to Silom Complex to find something to eat. I have my go-tos in the Silom district but now I wanted some iced coffee and knew where to get it with a decent meal. We head over to the basement level and go to Vanilla Homecafe. This is one of the few brunch places I’ve been to in the past, mostly with farang friends. It is probably more western than most Thai restaurants but is pretty reliable. At 1:30 PM or so on a Monday afternoon the place was half full with some of the lunch crowd there. The customers were all Thai, it seems, so it probably was a favorite for locals as well, despite the price. We get sat down in a booth in the back of the restaurant and we get handed their usual hefty menu. I immediately ask for the iced coffee, and ask BurBoy if he wanted one as well. He says yes  and the waiter leaves us to mull over our brunch choices.

 

After a few minutes we get our iced coffee:

 

 

We look at the choices and BurBoy chooses an appetizer and a pasta dish. I get an egg rice thing. We call on the waiter and BurBoy gives him our order in Thai. While we wait we get on our phones. BurBoy shows me photos of where he wanted to go today, and tells me if he can get a few items of clothing. I tell him of course. It’s the least I can do. I don’t pay him a tip, as he is not a money boy with me, but at least I can shower him with gifts. He doesn’t ask for much, but when he does I try to give it to him.

 

We waited a little bit for our food. The waiters were busy closing out everyone’s checks as the lunch hour end. Pretty soon the place was almost empty. I guess the lunch crowd is thinning out. We eventually get our meals, appetizer, pasta dish, and egg and sausage with rice. I am not sure how Thai our meals are but we devour it anyway:

 

 

 

 

We finish our meals and I pay for the brunch. I forgot what I paid but I looked at my credit card statement and it was $27.98. That’s probably around 900 baht. Not bad.

 

We go to the second floor of the mall to get to the BTS station. I was not sure where we were going so I let BurBoy take the lead. He tells me we are going to Siam station, and he wanted to go to Platinum Fashion Mall to buy clothes. I’ve never been there so this was a treat for me.

 

The BTS was not too busy on a mid-afternoon on a Monday. BurBoy takes care of the BTS tickets. I let him take care of things he wants to pay for and lead on. I pay for probably 95% of the stuff we spend on a daily basis, but when he takes care of the little things I think it is important that he feels he can contribute. He does offer to take care of some meals but I’d rather him spend it on his dream of a new life in Myanmar. I figure the direct deposit I get every two weeks from my job will take care of my own needs.

 

We get off Siam Station, quite possibly one of the busiest BTS stations in the Bangkok train network. We take the long walk on the skywalk to CentralWorld, and then we go in the mall to get some needed aircon respite. It wasn’t that hot but it was a little bit humid. BurBoy tells me “I no like CentralWorld. Everything expensive.” The mall is very hi-so, and actually it looks better than most malls in America. We go through the mall till we get to the far side of the building and then we go outside to the street.

 

Outside it was overcast, threatening to rain. As we make our to the street way pass by the Trimurti Shrine:

 

 

BurBoy pulls me towards him and he Wais in front of the shrine. He says a little prayer and then looks at me and smiles a big gigantic smile, before he says “OK na,” and continues his way to Ratchadamri Road. Why did he pull me in for his prayer? When I got back to the USA I googled what the Trimurti shrine was about and find numerous articles about it being, among other things, the “Shrine of Love.” Perhaps he was saying a little prayer for us and our love. That is very sweet, if that was actually the case.

Day 10.3 Shopping for Salvation

 

With my vacation coming to a close, it is time for me to think about my real life back in the US. Not that all this love and sex and hedonism in Bangkok isn’t real. But this is just about 19% of my life. The other 81% you guys don’t know about. It’s the part where responsibility and obligation and the mundane and the routine come in. It is the ordinary, but important part of life. How else can you have the energy and the money to let loose once in a while. One simply cannot live in a heightened sensory state all the time. Pretty soon you will long for the quiet and the rest. Life is all about balance.

 

So thinking about my real life means thinking about my BF, the other love of my life, my family, and my friends back home. They all know I am here. Some of them even see vague Facebook posts about my time here. So I will have to get them souvenirs. From my travels. I don’t usually get all my loved ones something whenever I go here, but I haven’t given them anything in a while, and I went to a new country, Cambodia, so it would be good to buy them something, and my mom has asked for a some stuff as well.

 

So our next destination is Platinum Fashion Mall. I’ve never been to this mall, and at first blush the name sounds posh, but just because the name has “Platinum” in it doesn’t mean it is only for the 1%. Like MBK, Platinum Mall is like they shoved Chatuchak Market into two big buildings. I’ve always had fun visiting Chatuchak Market. Apart from the usual clothes and souvenirs, there are a few niche items that I love finding in that market (and I am not just talking about the Hitler t-shirts, complete with swastikas, found in some stores). It is an assault on the senses, including physically, because the lack of aircon means you have to search for deals in the heat and humidity.

 

We head up Ratchadamri Rd to Platinum Mall from CentralWorld/Isetan. It was overcast so the heat wasn't a concern, but the humidity still got us. We entered the mall and we see a Starbucks. BurBoy takes two waters, pays for them and hands one to me. We sit for a bit and then head on back to shop for deals.

 

There's a little bit more order to the chaos of the mall, moreso than MBK, but still that's not saying much. But that's OK. Half the fun is just going from store to store and seeing what they have, and then quickly moving on. There was no point in lingering too much at a store that didn't quite have what you wanted.  Chances are the next store or 5 will have it. And if you find something in a store that you can't live without, get at least 2 more of them at least. They're cheap enough that even buying 3 at full price is way cheaper than getting 1 at your western country, and you can haggle down the price easier if you buy more of it.

 

So that was my system. When BurBoy saw something that he liked, I would look for more of the same item with gifting it to my BF or friends and family in mind. I would let BurBoy haggle down the price, and not only do I get BurBoy his gifts, but gifts for my other loved ones as well. He gets mostly t-shirts, so I got some for me and others. He got some shorts and that made me get some for me as well. 

 

This was also a great way to spend time with BurBoy. He has been a great companion for me all this time. I am happy to buy him little tokens of my appreciation through shopping. In turn he helps me buy stuff for people back home as well, and he sometimes asks questions about who I was going to give it to so he can have a hand also in picking the best gift. By the end of the shopping trip, I think I only spent 1200 baht on him. And probably three times that on gifts for other people. That's a little bit over $140, which to me is money well spent. I have a happy BurBoy appreciative of the gifts, and I have giveaways to share back home. I even got some for myself.

 

We decide to have some coffee before heading back to Silom. BurBoy takes the lead and finds us a table. I tell him to go to the counter to look at the menu so he can tell me what he wanted. After about a minute he comes back and says he would like a Mocha Frapuccino. I leave him with our shopping bags and table to order. I wanted an iced coffee with a hazelnut shot. I pay for the drinks (about 275 baht) and also get a banana and a cookie (120 baht). I sit down with BurBoy to wait for the orders, and hand him the food. He takes the banana. After 3 minutes the drinks were ready. I hand him his drink and we share in the caffeine and the afternoon. Life was good. 

 

After finishing our drinks BurBoy tries to carry all the shopping bags, but I tell him I will help. We head out back on the street, using the overpass this time, to get from Platinum back to Isetan/CentralWorld. After a good walk we get back to the BTS to whisk us back to the Crowne Plaza.  Back in the room we sort our loot and I start packing most of my stuff in my roller bag. I better get most of this done now before we start our night.

 

It was 6 PM so we try to relax in the room (or, lelax in loom). No free food in the room but the happy hour was happening in the lounge room. I ask BurBoy if he wanted to get a drink and he said maybe later. With the shopping and packing done we just lie down in the bed and watch TV for a little bit. We didn’t say much to each other. We knew this time together will end tomorrow. I’ve become too comfortable with him that I start believing that this was my reality. I shake off the negative feelings and just be in the present with BurBoy. I hold him tight and focus on the show onscreen.

 

We spend an hour just relaxing like this, before we decide to get going with our night. There was no point in napping before the night tonight. It would be good for me to actually be a little tired when I get to my flight tomorrow. I need to start adjusting to my time zone in the USA, and last night was a start, with going to bed at 5 AM. People have ways to ease into their home time zones to reduce jetlag, my usual way is to be awake in the same waking hours as my destination time zone, and be tired enough to sleep during my flight. It does not always work but its good enough.

 

We shower together as usual, and prepare ourselves for the night. We decide to wear some of the new clothes we just bought. We both have a feeling tonight is a big night. I tell BurBoy that we should have dinner before going out to the bars. I also tell him that we should hangout with paulsf tonight since it was my last night in Bangkok, and he is still in the middle of his trip. He asks me a few questions about how I know paulsf. Understandable that he asks about these things, as he is a very inquisitive boy. I make some cockamamie story about meeting him a few trips ago and we became friends. Of course I can't tell him that we belonged to this famous gay forum in the internet where I spill the beans on our relationship.

 

We finish dressing up and leave for dinner. We had luck going to Silom Plaza this morning for brunch, so we decide to go there again for dinner. We have had a few dinners in Silom Plaza before, but there was one restaurant that seemed to be always full whenever we decided to check it out. I could count at least three times when BurBoy would go to that restaurant to look at the menu and liked what he saw, but the wait for a table was always too long for us.  As we head over to the basement level of the mall, we see that restaurant had a table empty. So we rushed over to claim it.

 

Before I continue, and before everyone says that these trip reports are turning into a foodie blog, let me just say that I have received a few PMs from people asking me for recommendations on places to eat in Bangkok. So I made sure I took the extra time to feature the meals that me and BurBoy (and CB) have had this trip. It is not for everyone, but for the few that have asked for this, you’re welcome.

We were going to settle for the empty table that was just outside of the restaurant, but the receptionist pointed to a better table inside that we might also like. We went inside and get seated. We get handed the large two-sided menu:

 

 

 

Again, I love the concept  of menus with big photos of the food in addition to the text describing the food. The English translations also help. We choose some drinks first. I liked the “Half coffee and half thai tea” option they had, and BurBoy gets the “Pandan leaf juice with collagen jelly”, as well as sharing a bottled water:

 

 

We look at the menu and choose our items. I realize that mine and BurBoy's number is “4”. We always get four things of food over dinner. We are constantly hungry and I guess 1 food item per person is not enough. We order “Porkchop steak with Thai local sauce,” “Fried rice with shredded pork jerky and soup,” “Sundried stripped beef,” and “Spicy and sour soup with chicken.”

 

As we wait for our meals we forget our impending goodbyes tomorrow and just spend time as a regular couple. No reason to sulk and be sad. BurBoy is a serial optimist, always looking at the bright side of life. He tells me about his plans for the next few weeks. He is hoping that the money he got from his former farang benefactor will get him far in Myanmar. But he is open to stay in Bangkok for a little longer, maybe stay with his parents for a while, and decide on a future course of action. He tells me about Yangon and Mandalay and how nice it is there. I tell him I will definitely visit him and visit those cities.

 

Our food comes and we dig in:

 

 

We share everything, of course, and everything was so good. We take our time to devour the food, and we both agreed that this restaurant was worth the wait. We can see and taste why this restaurant is as popular as it is. Another good thing about it: it was cheap. We get the bill and I paid 625 baht ($16.33) for the feast. For that amount and quality of food that was cheap. And most of all, the good meal cheered us up, to be ready for the night ahead. Like I said before, a great meal, like great sex, is good for the soul, and sharing it with someone you love and care for is the best feeling in the world.

Silom Complex is the one right next to BTS Saladaeng. Silom Plaza is the mostly dead semi-open mall that is further down on Silom, just after the big intersection where the BTS makes the bend towards Chong Nonsi Station. Silom Plaza is also where Arena massage is.

They are now inconveniently located on the Thonburi side, though still easy to get to as they are located right next to the BTS Station Pho Nimit, which is the 3rd Station on the other side of the river. But takes an extra effort to got there, unfortunately a casual visit is no longer possible.

Day 10.6 So Fresh and So Clean

The first time I have ever set foot on Soi Twilight was a clear night on February 2014. Back then, armed with the knowledge from the best trip reports and advice from this forum, as well as reading the blog http://bangkokbois.sawatdeenetwork.com/ religiously before heading out to Bangkok, I was so nervous and wasn't sure I could actually do it. I chose my first hotel, Crowne Plaza, knowing how many meters I had to walk from the hotel to the bars. I made sure I was ready before 10:00 PM to get to the bars so I can get good seating and see the shows. I even made sure I had some 20, 100, and 500 baht notes in my pocket so I was ready to give out tips.

 

 

I knew where to stay, where to go, what time to be there, and what to bring. But nothing could prepare me for the initial assault on the senses that I was about to witness as I walked on Surawong and see Soi Twilight from the distance. The neon light signs, the aggressive bar touts, and the boys sashaying up and down the Soi, was too much for me. I entered the Soi, pretending to be unimpressed, and ignoring everything they were throwing at me. I walked too fast that I got to the Classic Boys side of the Soi without stopping and even able to check anything out.

 

 

I left the Soi to try to compose myself. I decided to go to Tawan instead, and the rest is history.

 

So tonight, with my eye candy in my arm, I step into Soi Twilight for what it seems to be the 100th time, without the shyness from before. Now, at the end of my trip, I am almost jaded, a little over the bar scene. I know that when I get back home I will be aching to be back here again. Maybe one can really never do this everyday. It's good as an occasional thing. But once that you have indulged in the fantasy, and had your fill of the hospitality the boys are known for, it's time to step away. Tonight it my last night in Bangkok this trip. It was time to go.

 

I have made plans with paulsf to hang out tonight on my last night. Before this trip I have been peppering him with questions about his take on some of the bars here, and I have followed his advice on some queries I had. This is the beauty of gaythailand. I get a lot of advice on all things gay Thailand, and I get to meet cool people in the process once in while. I’ve seen paulsf probably three nights now but we have never really hung out to watch a boy show together.

 

We meet him around 9:30 PM at Hot Male beer bar. We exchange pleasantries, and BurBoy gives him a hug, and we sit down with him as we talk about each other’s activities for the past few days. BurBoy was again content in being in the background while the two westerners exchange Bangkok stories. I share with him my lament about my impending goodbye with BurBoy and Thailand. For people who have read my trip reports, they know how much I get attached to the boys I spend time with the most, and BurBoy is no exception.

 

At around 10 PM we decide in heading out to Fresh Boys, which was just a few steps from where we were sitting. I’ve only been here three times before. Once in February, and I talked about it in my trip report, mistakenly identifying the bar as X-Size, another time with my BF and we bought this wickedly handsome Khmer a drink, and another time just 5 nights ago when I was trying to get a boy before seeing BurBoy. I always like the boys here, but I never seem to be able to off anyone. I’m pretty sure I won’t be offing anyone tonight either. This has been my white whale.

 

 

We go in and get seated in the back benches that had a view of the front of the stage. There were probably two or three more parties in the bar so it wasn’t full. We get asked our drink orders and settle in to watch the boys advertising their wares onstage. The police raids that happened a few months ago on Soi Twilight that forbid the non-Thais to work in the bars, was to me an unfortunate development in the lead up to my last trip in June. I’ve always thought the variety in nationalities of the boys in the bars gave it the edge it needed. The exception of course was Dream Boy. For some reason, having an all-Thai employee base works well for that bar, and the effect is sometimes beautiful.

 

So I was happy to hear that non-Thai boys were allowed to work in the bars again. Onstage at Fresh Boys right now, wearing only tight white underwear, was a good mix of Thais, Viets and Khmers (and maybe a Burmese or two). It was a good looking crew tonight, although not as many as other bars. Some of the boys were eyeing us, trying to see if we were the offing types or not. paulsf, as the only farang in our group, got the bulk of the attention. He wasn’t calling anyone over but the boys kept introducing themselves to him. BurBoy had one leg wrapped around my leg and holding my hand, possibly to both stake his claim and for comfort.

 

The group of boys who stood out for me tonight were the Viets. They were all young, hot, fit, and handsome. Some of them I recognize from Hot Male. paulsf has told me that Hot Male was, for the moment, not hiring any non-Thais, so some of the boys had to land somewhere else. If I was alone tonight I might have thought of inviting them for a drink, but paulsf tells me that most, if not all, of the boys are tops. For some of these gorgeous boys, I can probably make an exception and off them anyway.

 

The boys get off the stage as the show is about to start. BurBoy puts his head on my shoulder as paulsf, sitting on the other side, gives me some of his impressions about what is happening onstage. One of the first numbers was the big cock show, a staple in most of the boy show bars in Thailand. One after another, a hot boy/man would appear with a big raging hard-on. In this bar they did something extra: they would “bang” their rock hard penises on a steel pole that was onstage. The pole would make a big “clank” noise, as if someone was hitting the pole with a steel bat.

 

That probably hurts, banging your hard cock against a steel pole and getting it to sound like that. But I immediately see the parlor trick. As they bang their cock, they also use their knee ever so subtly to bang the pole as well, creating the sound. What was funny was first paulsf turns to me and tells me about the knee thing, and then after that BurBoy turns to me and tells me the same thing. “No original.” BurBoy adds. I guess he has seen this parlor trick before.

 

There was a number where this tall, lean muscular handsome guy with a long and large hard cock was chuck wowing in front of us, while playing gay porn in his iPad, to music. It was entertaining and hot, because the guy just had one of the biggest penises I’ve ever seen on a Bangkok stage, he had an unfair lean muscular torso with a six pack, and he was playful, posing in different ways onstage, and making sure we all saw what he was watching on his iPad, which was gay porn. paulsf tells me the guy was over 40 years old. How I wish I looked like that when I’m in my 40s. I wish I was hot like that now. Good genes trumps everything I guess. At that age though, you can hardly call anyone fresh, but somehow it suits him still.

 

There were a couple of energetic ladyboy lip-syncs with two backing dancers. The tunes were upbeat and the boys dancing were kind of cute and could dance really well. I hear BurBoy singing along to the songs that was being lip-synced. I was kind of enjoying hearing the song on stereo. paulsf remarked that this was one of his favorite parts of the show.

 

There is a fuck show in this bar, but it was kind of different and weird. They put a screen, or a net, across the stage so you don’t see the fucking directly, per se. After seeing the no-holds barred acrobatics in Tawan and Screw Boy throughout the week, this seems pretty tame. This was the time me and paulsf and BurBoy talk. How blasé we have become, talking over a fuck show. There was also a shower show. Again, blasé.

 

One Viet guy approached paulsf. paulsf did not want the boy to sit with him, so the boy kept his distance, but soon he sat next to him. I see them talk for a bit before the boy extends a hand to introduce himself. paulsf tells him we are both Americans, which prompted the boy to remark that he thought I was Thai. I get one every night. The boy was cute but paulsf was not having any of it.

 

While the show was happening I check my phone. The bar was not too strict with the phone usage, though I am sure that you still can’t take photos inside the bar. I see some Line messages from Dream Boy Thai Guy (DTG), asking me if it was my last night in Bangkok tonight. I answer and tell him it was. He replies and says that if it was possible tonight, I should go to Dream Boy to say goodbye. He adds that I don’t have to buy a drink for him, he just wanted to see me. I tell him I will see what I can do.

 

I tell this to BurBoy, that I wanted to go to Dream Boy after this bar to say goodbye to DTG. BurBoy has never met DTG, and he was immediately skeptical about the meeting. He asks me “How do you know boy?” I tell him I offed him in the past. “You still talk him?” I say once in a while. “You want off him tonight.” No, I say. I am with you. I just want to say goodbye to him because I haven’t seen him in a long time (a bald-faced lie again). BurBoy just shrugs. I guess he didn’t like it as much but figured he would let me do it.

 

The show ends and we pay up for our drinks. I tell paulsf that we have decided to go to Dream Boy because I wanted to say goodbye to DTG. paulsf decides to go with us to Dream Boy, a bar he doesn’t check out that often.

All the qualities I could have hope for for a boy, except the bottoming part, but for a first off, or any off, it was a good choice for me. Curious that I have not dipped into this well since.

You are right to be upset about non-offable boy but no need to be bitter, after all if I remember that  story they did not claim all boys at Scorpion are offable.

 

Yes , both bars and boys are trying to cash in but this is business  with very  little competition at least in BKK , particularly if punters are not inclined to online hook-ups . So yes we have two choices - look for business elsewhere or just gnash a teeth and pay up I guess.   

 

I'd say I can feel how cheaper the boys are in Boyztown than in Soi Twilight, so that's probably why I've seen some Pattaya boys cross over to Bangkok because of this. Even with stiffer (hehe) competition, they still earn more in BKK, even with the higher cost of living. I would also say that looks-wise, at least for what I like, I'd give the slight edge to Bangkok boys, but I don't see a difference in quality of service. At the end of the day I like to mix it up and visit both without any strong preference for either one. What puts Bangkok over the top is there is way more (non-Boy) things do there than in Pattaya.

 

Sad ... 'cos you feel for the boys who are still in this trade till now?

 

Haha that too, though my reasons are more selfish. I lament that I have been doing this way too long and too frequent that I recognize the boys when they go to different bars or cities. Day 10.9 A Dream Boy versus A Real Guy

I’ve probably offed more boys in Dream Boy than any other bar in Thailand. Tawan and Boyzboyzboyz in Pattaya are second and third in the list. On any night when I am unsure of what I want, this is the bar I go to. If I know I want a hulking muscular guy, I go to Tawan. If want to get a skinny, cheaper, twink, I go to Screw Boy. If I want to get ignored all night, I go to Jupiter (just kidding, sort of). But if I wanted to see variety, unsure if I wanted to off anyone, and if I just wanted to go with the flow, Dream Boy was the bar.

 

 

If one would go to this bar around 9:45 PM or 10 PM, on a high season weekend (or just before or during Songkran), and be lucky enough to find a good seat in the very front and center, you may see at least 100 or more boys jostling for front position onstage, trying to get your attention. The effect is unreal, as you see these boys in their skimpy speedos, from the twinkiest of twinks with angelic faces, boy next door types with unreal bodies, boyish lean muscular types, as well as big hulking types. Short, tall, and everything in between, they seem to have it here. When I see this, I cannot help myself, and the question is not usually if, but who, I’m coming home with tonight.

 

Dream Boy Thai Guy (DTG) has been pretty open with telling me stories about the bar. Its history, its inner mechanisms, and its strong sense of family that runs deep with everyone associated with the bar. No wonder it is far and away the most successful boy bar in Bangkok, maybe in Thailand. In my short tenure as sex tourist to this wonderful land, I’ve always seen the bar full of tourists, full of willing boys to come home with you, and it therefore has filled my nights with a lot of fun and memories. I’ve also have had more success with long time offs with this bar, with some of the boys I’m able to off willing and able to be the whole package for me: sex, smarts and savvy. This is why I keep coming back.

 

And just like any bar, it is not for everyone. Some of the complaints: it's too expensive, too crowded, the Chinese tourists have overrun it, the mamasans are too pushy, the boys are divas and don’t do what they are told, the list goes on. And some of the criticisms are valid, to a point. As I see it, the bar has had to do what it needed to survive. I was born too late to have experienced the “golden age” in Thailand boy bars that a lot of you have talked about here at length. I’ve always known the boy bars to be like this. I’m sure the world has changed a lot since that gilded age, and the boy bar changes are just a reflection of what is happening outside its walls.

 

(Sidenote: I would appreciate it tremendously if some of the more seasoned among us can share with me, either here or in Private Message, what it was like in that golden age. I want to know what I missed!)

 

It was 11:30 PM, and BurBoy and paulsf and I decide that we will check out Dream Boy. At this point I have been over the bar scene, and this bar visit was just so that DTG can say his goodbyes to me. This will be interesting, as BurBoy has not met DTG yet. Last time I introduced DTG to a boy I was already in a long time companion situation, was with Cambodia Boy (CB), and there were tears:

CB bursts into tears. I did not expect this. We have had angry words before. We bring out the worst, as well as the best from each other. I was expecting him to fight back, to tell me why I invited DTG here, why was I not true to him. But no, he starts crying.

 

...

 

He says “I can stay? You want me to stay?” Yes, I never asked you to leave. I just think you are unhappy with me and DTG. He hugs me tight, on Soi 4, in full view of others. And cries some more. In between he says “Thank you. I want talk to my mother. I am jealous of Thai Guy. I’m sorry.” I hug him back. 

 

 

The jealousy was understandable. DTG was handsome, sexy, and his English was perfect and he can hold his own in any type of conversation you throw at him. Any boy would feel intimidated.

 

As we go in Dream Boy, we see that it was packed, as expected. The main show was still going on but it was wrapping up. There were no available good seats up front. My usual friendly mamasan rushed over to greet us and he tries to find three of us good seats. I explain to him that I wanted DTG to sit with us so it has to be four seats. It was difficult to do in a packed house to find, so we just got seated in the stools in front of the seating in the back. Not prime seating for sure, but at least we got situated together.

 

We got asked our drink orders and we look at the stage as the last numbers were finishing. The mamasan goes up to me and makes small talk. He recognizes BurBoy and says hi as well. He asks about paulsf and if he wanted a boy, and I tell him “We are not sure, we are just here to enjoy now.” I then ask him to call on DTG (by telling him his number). “You want Mr. <insert name>?” Yes I do. He looks at me and BurBoy and gives me a knowing smirk. I tell him its not like that. I just wanted to say goodbye because I was leaving tomorrow. Mamasan leaves to get DTG.

 

After 5 minutes DTG and the mamasan emerge. I chastily shake DTG’s hand and then introduced him to paulsf and BurBoy. He takes a stool nearby and sits. I ask the mamasan to get him a drink but DTG says no, he was just sitting with me. I insisted to get him a drink and tell the mamasan to get him one. The mamasan leaves. I tell DTG that it was sweet of him to not have me spend money on him, but I feel that he can use the little commission he gets from the drink, as well as increase his goodwill at the bar.

 

The show ends and some of the customers leave the bar. The mamasan tells DTG that there were prime seats at the front now if we wanted to move. DTG tells this to me and he stands up and goes with the mamasan to the seats. The seats were really good, at the very front, and enough to seat all 4 of us, with space to spare. I sit in the middle and paulsf sits to my right. I tell Burboy to sit to my left and let DTG sit on his left. BurBoy tells me that DTG should sit beside me so I had talk time with him. So BurBoy squeezes between me and paulsf and DTG sits next to me. The careful politics of boy seating arrangements. I guess the westerners will just have to sit separately.

 

DTG and I talk while BurBoy was just content in taking in the atmosphere. I notice paulsf sitting quietly in the corner. I look around the bar and notice a lot of cuties still un-offed and looking for customers. There were probably 20 boys still in the bar. I see this striking, young, tall and Viet looking guy onstage. I point him to paulsf and he agrees that the boy was super hot.

 

DTG continues to talk to me. Sometimes he asks if BurBoy was OK with me talking to him. I assured him he was OK but I wasn’t totally sure. He asks about my trip and what has happened since he saw me. It was nice talking this one last time in person, even if we talk constantly on Line. I often wonder  how it felt if he was my long time off instead of CB or BurBoy. Maybe someday I can do that. Now I feel that he is doing this to pay off his debts, and I do not want to take away from his income by offing him long. I know that I don’t pay enough for it to be worthwhile for him, and he gets more if he sticks to his customers. We will see if his promise of remaining friends after his bar boy days are over will actually happen.

 

The 12:15 AM show was about to start and I see paulsf still alone in the corner. As I like everyone happy, I look for that hot boy I mentioned to paulsf earlier to see if he is still here. I see the boy sitting by the gym equipment in the far corner. I call on our mamasan and tell him to call on the boy to sit with paulsf. I tell paulsf what was coming at him, and he nods and the boy gets to paulsf and shakes his hand. DTG scoots over to the left, and BurBoy and I do the same, to make room for Hot Boy to sit between BurBoy and paulsf. I guess it's now a habit of mine, calling on boys I think my friend wants to talk to but for some reason wasn't:

 

The other one was a Thai stunner, short, handsome, and muscular abs and pecs protruding off his sexy frame. Lets call him Dream Boy Thai Guy (DTG) I encourage him to call on DTG over to sit with him. PNGguyBKK is shy and doesn’t want to. I get mamasan in the act, and pretty soon all three of us were encouraging him to call on DTG. I ended up telling mamasan to get DTG to sit with us anyway, and made the decision for my friend. He sits down, and flashes us his zillion watt smile. What a smile. I think it lit up the dark bar. I let my friend chat up DTG. DTG has better English than most gogos, and him and my friend get more comfortable with each other. 

 

I see them talk for a while before paulsf introduces Hot Boy to me. Hot Boy turns to me and speaks to me in Thai. I give him a puzzled look, the same look I give people who speak to me in Thai, and I answer him in English. paulsf tells him we are both from America, and paulsf tells me “I guess you look Thai tonight.”

 

The second show starts and it was an abbreviated version of the main show. The show starts with the usual coyote boy dance, with the boys in their speedos and cowboy boots.

 

 

And then the “Magic Mike” sequence with one of the non-offables dancing with other offable boys. The non-offable boy is always a treat to look at, and at our vantage point in the front seats, it really was a sight to behold. The ladyboy comedic number was kind of funny tonight, the one where an audience member joined in on the hijinks. I see BurBoy and paulsf laugh so gauging from them I’d say it’s a success. The elaborate dance number was also in the late show, and it never fails to disappoint.

 

The other boy number staples were there: the neon paint number, the candle number, the tonic water number. It was blur at this point of the night because I’ve been talking to DTG, and occasionally to BurBoy. I tell DTG towards the end that I appreciated him asking me to come here tonight and hope that I will see him again, and we will just continue to talk on Line. I give him 200 baht as I would any boy that sat with me. He says he doesn’t need it, but I put the money in the garter of his speedos, telling him that he should keep it. I then tell him that he should get ready to get onstage after the show so he can try to get a customer to end the night. He told me he will, and hugged me tight, and said goodbye to BurBoy, before leaving us to prepare to be onstage.

 

I see paulsf and Hot Boy in deep conversation. That boy is really hot. I made the right decision. I hug BurBoy and I ask him if he was ok. He says he was fine, and then asks me where DTG was going. I told him he was going to go back onstage to get a customer. BurBoy was kind of surprised that DTG wasn’t coming home with us. I told him I will not ask anyone to go home with us without his consent. He gives me a peck on the cheek.

 

The show ends and the unoffed boys get onstage to make a last minute effort to get noticed by the customers. An announcement was made that informed us that in 15 minutes the bar is closing, so if we wanted a boy now is the time. I see Hot Boy leave paulsf’s side to get onstage. I ask paulsf why he wasn’t offing the boy. He said maybe tomorrow. He agreed that the boy was really hot and thanked me for the gentle nudge to actually get the boy to sit with him.

 

We all leave the bar, and back on street level on Soi Twilight me and BurBoy say goodbye to paulsf. It was fun meeting him this trip, as I do with other forumers. It’s nice to hang out and share stories with other like-minded individuals who make the trek to this land of wonder. But for all the fantasies and dreams that was on offer tonight, I decide to take home the very real BurBoy, the non-bar boy who was just along for the ride.
