ChristianPFC Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 http://bangkok.coconuts.co/2016/08/23/mahanakhon-celebrates-completion-and-title-thailands-tallest-building-light-show A Thai friend told me today that they have been running tests for days, so I went tonight to find the best spot to watch (and because I might not be able to go tomorrow). Very poor view from skyarc (almost completely blocked by W), poor view from BTS public areas, probably good view from train platform. I found best public view spot from old cemetary in Silom Soi 9. Even better from Silom Plaza (where Super Rich money exchange is) Arena Massage (you have to walk through the massage place - I have been customer there before - and up 2 floors). When I asked boys outside for viewing spot, they let me in, but after about 5 minutes someone else came and told me I have to go down or out or have a massage. Side note: there is The Best Massage on ground level of the complex, has a lot of boys (they were out eating when I passed). No good public spot in Silom Plaza (nor anywhere else in that are, I estimate from walking there before). Cloud47 would be a good view point (at least those parts that point to that direction). A friend was on Baiyok 2 yesterday and saw it from there. biguyby and DivineMadman 2 Quote
paulsf Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 I have a great view of that building from my condo. I'm on 8th floor and can see it easly. Problem is I won't be back to Bangkok for another week. Quote
Brummbaer Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 You can see it from the executive lounge of Pullman Hotel G Silom. But then you would need to stay there to access the lounge. Quote
vinapu Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 I wonder how show would look like from bigger distance since that building is visible from far and wide even in BKK foggy air. I was impressed by the view of it from Bearing BTS platform , I'm kidding you not. There should be place in Lumpini close to northern fence where view will be relatively unobstructed and close enough . Paulsf , have a nice trip back to BKK. Quote
ChristianPFC Posted August 29, 2016 Author Posted August 29, 2016 I don't think you have good view from Lumpini park. Many other tall buildings in between. I want to get just a few 100 m away, but without anything obstructing the view (at least I would like to see it from bottom to top). Preferably at an elevated position so I don't have to look up in the sky. Beside Cloud47, Lebua would be a great spot. Quote
Brummbaer Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Did you manage to see the lightshow? One of my friends took this from his apartment and on PACE Development's youtube channel: vinapu 1 Quote
