So you don't recommend going? I'm curious, but sort of nervous.

 

Why would you bother ?   It's a trek out there, then you need to travel somewhere with whoever you pick up & money boys don't take the bus...... 

The choice of people is limited.  Actually, it wasn't that good when I tried it perhaps 3~4 years ago & if it's deteriorated since, I don't see much reason to go.   Just spend the money & go to Soi Twilight, or if you want to economise, take a Gay Romeo boy.

I have taken some friends in the past, but now I wouldn't recommend it to the average tourist, only if you stay longer in Bangkok and speak some Thai and know your way around. Numbers were low last time I went two weeks ago, and without experience (and spotting some boys I know from before) I wouldn't even know who is available and who is general public.

what about indoor cruising? there are many saunas with guys not looking for money and at least one blue movie theatre which was quite cruisy. I visited once and in 5 min had a middle aged guy sucking me off with a cute student sitting on the other side and cheering him on. also lots of action going on behind the back row.

I always thought saunas would have older guys there where as I'm massively into my Twinks. What are the blue movie theatres and where are they located? Thanks

Has anyone had much luck picking up guys in shopping malls? I always see cute boys but never actually picked one up but I'm usually with thai friends and people assume I have a bf! This time I plan to do a fair bit alone although I hate being in the boy bars alone especially if I'm the only customer. But I'm going to get on with it this time around lol

jones, my memory is not so acurate as to give you directions, but the chistianpfc blog is a very accurate source for saunas and movie theatres. just google for it. And no, there are plenty of younger guys in thai saunas, the question is would the be interested in you? maybe. blue movie theatres, showingporn or sex movies and where basically no one pays much attention to the actual movie but rather to the other patrons...

Several years ago, yes.  Particularly in the mall by Sala Daeing BTS.  

Nothing since the refit, although I'm sure smart phones also have as much to do with that as the changes to the building.

I know some of the money boys and thais in pattaya go to karaoke bars after work where you probably won't see farangs. I've been to a couple with thai boys but I wouldn't be able to find them again! Also in Bangkok I was taken to a gogo bar which was hidden and we'll away from the mainstream bars but on arrival it was late and they only had 3 boys not my type so I left. Again I wouldn't find it again because I was taken on the back of a tuk tuk around small soi's. My point is it seems there are bars and areas where the Thai only boys hang out. Personally I prefer these places such as tamnan isaan in pattaya and sake club bangkok.

not sure actual cruising takes place, but Lumphini Park after dark before they close is kinda full of single men oddly sitting on benches or aimlessly walking around, and mostly looking at other males.... For sure no action happens in the park, but who knows if it's not a pick up place given the suspicious men described above.

I found Lumpini park has a particular low density of cute boys. Will check again between sunset and closing to see if I spot anything interesting (I never did before).

I stroll through Lumpini often and at various parts of the day. Did not notice any cruising activities but cute boys are to be spotted.

 

In June I took what I call circular shortcut  through the park walking from Siam Paragon to Silom and noticed very cute boy walking ahead of me, slowed down just to relish in a view. At one point  he probably sense I follow him, turned back who he was?, Sokchai, may favourite masseur from Bonny. walking from the gym. I saw him many times before but always from face side and was surprised how good he look from behind , even dressed.

I'll have to agree on the low density of cute boys - that's why I said "single men", not "boys" or even "cute boys".  So I won't promise you anything interesting in the dusk hours.... ;-)
