vinapu Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 I'm really looking forward to a trip report, as I'll be in Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville last week of october with my Thai boyfriend. I think we all are looking forward for two reports , first numazu's and then yours Quote
Brummbaer Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Will be a boring report. With my BF along I'll just be looking at temples, palaces, restaurants and beaches. No mongering allowed Quote
Guest whall Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Yes, I would love a report on Phnom Phen! Quote

No mongering allowed boring - not at all. Good leads on sightseeing , feeding and secluded beaches may be more worthwhile for some than under the sheets graphics Quote
vinapu Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Numazu I hope you are doing well in Cambodia busy boyseeing and gathering notes for a next trip report Quote
worldatlarge Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Anybody tried Men's but as hotel? Rooms seem nice. http://www.mens-resort.com/index.php Quote
Moses Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Anybody tried Men's but as hotel? Rooms seem nice. http://www.mens-resort.com/index.php I did. It is OK. Clean and... boring. Hotel located in the middle of the living area. For everything (coffeshop, bars, shopping, markets and so on) you should take tuk-tuk. Service is good, staff are straights, kitchen is so-so. Massage 6 of 10 points, masseur expects tips, no happyending. Fun time when locals come to sauna starts after 5pm and lasts till about 9pm. vinapu and DivineMadman 2 Quote
Guest Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 I prefer to be within a few minutes walk of the centre. The old Ei8ht Rooms hotel had a near perfect location, although it has now closed and these days I expect a slightly higher quality of hotel. Quote

I agree. I stayed there quite a few times - the last time was just before it closed. It was a bit too basic for my tastes but the location was perfect. My final stay at Ei8ht Rooms was marred by the theft of my mobile phone from my room safe. I told the staff that I was going to report the theft to the Tourist Police, which I did (that's another story!) and my phone mysteriously turned up in my safe the night before I checked out. It was then that I decided I would not be staying there again. Little did I know that they would soon be closing down. I might head back to SR at the end of the year so would appreciate any information regarding nice hotels in town where I can take back "guests." Quote

As per my experience any hotel will allows you to bring quest to double room paid for 2 person if you stay there alone, but some hotel may ask you to pay some fee if this double room will be paid for 1 person (usually they call it "for extra towels") vinapu 1 Quote
Brummbaer Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 My BF and I stayed in Golden Butterfly Villa, which is walking distance from night market, Chillax Lounge bar and old market. I believe US$ 30 - 35 for a double room with balcony and breakfast. Nice, clean, quite big rooms. Cute (straight) staff, no problem to receive visitors (my best mate had the room next door and took some of his grindr dates up without hassle). Only negative point might be the Primary School next door, which can get loud in the morning when kids arrive for school. Quote
