TotallyOz Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 When I first got to Bangkok on this trip, I was going downtown with some friends and saw an odd building. I asked the driver about it and he knew nothing. The building looked like it was in a state of flux. But, I was fascinated with it and wanted to learn more. Today, I saw this article with a great video. Take a look: http://edition.cnn.com/2016/06/30/architecture/ole-scheeren-bangkok-skyscraper/index.html biguyby and faranglaw 2 Quote
paulsf Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 My condo is just a few blocks from there. I have a roof top swimming pool that has a great view of the building. I've been watching them build it for a couple of years. For this past year they have had 2 or 3 cranes on the top, hauling building supplies. But it never looked like they were getting to filling in the middle. I finally found out this spring that this is the design. It's a fascinating building, but it seems a bit scary as it looks incomplete. This area is really up and coming with lots of building. TotallyOz 1 Quote
Alexx Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 It got me confused, too, until I read about it. Now I think it's pretty cool. TotallyOz 1 Quote
vinapu Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 perfect landmark , visible from far and wide, unobstructed by nothing. I enjoyed looking at it from Bearing BTS platform and Preah Vihar hill in Muang Boran / Old City / in Samut Prakhan. Gives a good sense of where we are in Bangkok. And conveniently located is somebody wants to jump from the top, cemetary is right under it TotallyOz and ChristianPFC 2 Quote
