Long before in this thread I said I recognized the Boy from Gayromeo. That means he has no protection.

This did happen with one of our members who posted on Gayromeo.  A now deceased forum owner found the image of XXX and posted in on his gay forum much to the dismay of XXX.

The protection and restrictions are to Members. What is so hard to understand about that.

 

That is why non- members cannot view photos. All this BS about a family member or friend seeing a photograph is so moot.

 

You have to join and be a member in order to view photos. People who join and become members of this site recognize this site is about Gay Sex. Mothers, fathers sisters , brothers may stumble across this site but they would have to be looking for Gay Sex and join in order to see any photos.

 

I would guess the likelihood of that is close to ZERO.

Now that the melee of opinions has settled a bit there is one thing missing.

 

The missing link is Visseange who made the original post, his one and only post on this forum.

 

Was his post just an innocent, albeit, naive post on his part?  Or was he trying to be provocative or offensive in which case he succeeded. Or maybe just trying to smear the lad in the photo for whatever reason?

 

Probably will never know?  So far no word of explanation or apology or defense of his actions and likely there will be none.

Time will tell.

 

In addition his post and resulting discussion highlights the paucity of moderation by a forum moderator or owner or his surrogate. IMHO

 

The only thing I think we can be reasonable sure about is that this first post, by the OP is likely to be his last. If I had faced a barrage of criticism like that on my first post I would be off, never to return again let alone post again.

 

Every forum is different with its own views and rules on what is acceptable and what is not. What I would observe is that the other Thailand forums that I belong to (and even moderate on one) such a post would have been considered quite acceptable - even encouraged.

 

So he might have been forgiven for not realising that the ethos of this forum is clearly very different. I have (finally) found the code of conduct and even then it is not the easiest read, one great block of text.

 

I also note the same code contains a 'no nudity of any form' clause, and yet the model thread, by far the most popular on this site, shows every form of nudity save for the penis itself, and often then, the penis is more or less visible though thin/wet pants. I am not complaining - its my favourite thread by far, I just observe that it could be argued that it does not comply with the forum rules either.

 

I am pleased to have found this site, and I enjoy browsing and have benefited from the information that it contains, but am genuinely surprised at such harsh treatment at the first post of a 'newbie' member.

The ? after Phuket "escort" is somewhat ambiguous. Was it questioning whether he was an "escort" or whether he was in Phuket?  The  objectionable element in your post was" i had sex with him in July '15 and he's a great bottom, looking to fuck him again but seems not be in Phuket anymore".

Tactless choice of words in my opinion.

as for the exemption - "All GoGo and Host work-related information is exempt provided the guy, with intent, has made that information publicly available or has given tacit approval for such information to be made available", there was no indication in the original post or any other post before my first post that this actually applied, then there was a vague memory from you that you had seen a profile somewhere - and we all now know how reliable you are with what exists or does not exist on web sites - but the OP has at last finally said the picture is from a public profile without confirming that the said profile identified the guy as a "great bottom"

Initially, this site was never going to allow porn. That was the rules when we started the site. We did this as we didn't want any trouble in Thailand.  I sold the site many years ago and the rules have stayed in place for the forums but not for the main part of the site. There are nude images on the main part of the site.  I am not sure if they are visible there or not but I know they do exist.

 

The owners should decide if they want nudity or not.  Then, let that be carried over to both areas of the site.

Not sure what I said that said it was a sex, sex, sex site.  I said that porn was not allowed years ago on front end or in message boards. I have never said that message boards should be all about sex, sex, sex.  In fact, the opposite.  Most message boards thrive on messages.  Yes, that is right, messages.  But, most gay message boards do not have an aversion to nudity.  I don't I know.  And, like many boards I have seen, they limit the nude photos to one area of the site. 

 

I also see nothing wrong with sexcapades by members as that is why a great deal of people go to Thailand.  If you are gay and not have hired someone in LOS, you will be a very small one percent of a 0.01 percent. It happens.  What is wrong about talking about it?  Giving advice?

 

And, the same is true for restaurants, politics, etc.  What I want to read, I read.  What I don't want to read, I ignore.  I can always find good information on these boards and I can always find things I don't wish to read on them as well.

 

I don't see any problem with what I said and not sure how it was construed.
