Numazu,

Hahaha i beg to differ... Since you were getting lots of free sex, I would guess you are fit and good looking. In addition, you did a lot of exercises and watched out on your diet while you were on vacation. That means you are conscious about your body and look. Prove me wrong by showing us you pic (hihi it does not hurt to try, right?) :-)

Nice try ;-).

I can't believe you actually use Google translate to communicate with Thai guys.

Most of the time Google translate can't translate properly.

Yeah it's pretty challenging. We would have to repeat ourselves numerous times using the speech to text function to get the correct words translated. Lots of repeating, frustration, hand gestures. I find it was useful for me to paste my translations on http://www.thai2english.com to ensure that my point is correctly being conveyed. That website gives you a rough word for word translation of your Thai text. Not useful for sentence structure or syntax, but it ensures that the keywords of the idea you're trying to convey are all there.

And it sure beats the alternative, not talking at all. If I had this technology a decade or so ago in my semester in Europe back in college, I probably would've gotten laid more (yes, it's all about sex for me haha).

Thoroughly entertaining,informative reports.

Am yet to have the pleasure of visiting the delights of Bangkok, and these reports are sure to change that, i am sure i will be a major Tawan Bar regular, really enjoyed your Tawan report.

Thank you for the reports.

as TomNg alluded to, these are not just "reports" but more like a novel, amazingly written, engaging to read and with almost tangible emotions. Thanks for taking all this time to write it!

Oh, and your mutual efforts to communicate via google are touching, showing the affection. I can relate to that. As for the practical side, it must be really difficult, whenever I use it (which is rarely now as my Thai gets better) the translations are just so crappy...

We go to the GAP on the ground floor of the mall, and I buy him better fitting clothes. He gets a button down shirt, pants, underwear, 700 baht total.

All that for 700 Bt...from The Gap.... at the Royal Garden Mall?  Hahahahaha....

I tell him my favorite place in the world is Yosemite Park. I show him pics of me climbing Half Dome. He wants to go with me to climb it.

We turn on the TV. We watch a Thai News telecast. I ask him what are they talking about. He tells me using google translate. He translates what they are saying by translating it on Google Translate. Lots of communication layers there.

Hahahahahahaha...  Watching Thai news together? Using google translate on top of that...when the average Thai person struggles with the language used in our news broadcasts - far too formal and exclusive.  Hahahahahaha....

Boy expresses interest in doing something athletic and challenging?  Hahahahahaha......

I think you are meant to suspend disbelief.

Wow, i am speechless :-) :-) :-)

Numazu, are you sure you are not a novel writer ?

I'm sure he's a short story writer of some sort, but not one you'd be reading in The New Yorker anytime soon.  Still, his stories are not bad for whittling away a quiet - afternoon although he should brush up on his research a little.

News reporters in all countries always use formal and difficult words and not everyday simple words. Not every citizens in that country can understand them well.

I don't think that's the point.

Hahaha you guys are awesome. And here I thought you guys are gonna complain about my overtipping the boys, or my choice of hotels. Didn't think you'd have a problem thinking a young guy would choose the News to translate to me, or cost of the sales rack items at the GAP. My problem is I pack in too many details in these things. Maybe I should cut down on the deets in future installments. At least I can entertain you on a lazy afternoon.

I use the dictation app Dragon Dictation to "write" these reports, and then just do a quick edit and grammar check (not totally successful, when I reread these) in Word. No, I am not a writer! It would be embarrassing if I were, as it's obvious that I am not good at it (as some of you point out). I'm better with numbers (hint).

News - why not? I think, it was not more as in the song translation "she loves him", "he loves her" - just the main topic/idea of the report.

GAP - yes, I had a temptation to re-ask "surely 700 baht for a shirt, pants and underwear in GAP? Looks like unbelievable deal" but after a while just decided Numazu could just misremember something about certain prices - not a big deal... :)

Although I noticed the 700 baht Gap buy in the story, it did nothing to deter my enjoyment.

First of all anyone who suggests he should do better research is just ridiculous. How many people even know there is a Gap in the Royal Garden Mall. And of those how many have ever entered.

I do know it exists and have been in it once. As I remember they had tables with stuff discounted 70% and more .

Is it possible he spent 700 or maybe 1700? Who cares. For me the point was that he loosened his wallet and bought the boy some new clothes . In other words treated him like a human being instead of a piece of meat.

Something we should all endeavor to remember when we are in Thailand.

Numazu , keep reporting and don't worry about constipated remarks.

You are not only one who is overtipping boys / me too /  but if you happy with what you got in exchange, why not. I'm still smiling at some overpaid memories , why not others ?

Your choice of hotels is your preference which some may share and others consider wasteful spending but nothing wrong with what you had chosen - all locations are excellent for reason of your trip i.e. men hunting. If you based yourself near airport and made long daily trips to Silom ,that would be  questionable.

No idea what GAP prices are but certainly great bargains in Thailand can be had, nothing controversial here for me.

I was seen in Pattaya by few forum members so no doubt I was there and still have no slightest idea where Royal Garden Mall is. So it looks I need to do better research as well, Lol

Waiting for  a next installment impatiently

voice of reason, word by word

You need to take a walk down Beach Rd in the morning. Royal Garden is attached to the Marriott and if you walk further then you will come upon Central Festival. Lots of places for breakfast and in the morning you get to watch the shirtless boys set up the chairs etc.

Actually a very pleasant walk at least for Pattaya.

Posted

Vinapu, don't feel bad. I have stayed at the Marriott several times and talked to people that were staying there and had no idea it was a mall connected to the hotel.

Great reports, numazu - I'm really enjoying the description of your exploits.

"He cums first, my face again. I eat up some of it (I didn’t care, it tasted great)."

Are you not worried about contacting something nasty? HIV, chlamydia, hepatitis, etc?

thanks for an advice , will do next time I'm there.

I know where Central Festival is so how I could overlook Royal Garden ? Obviously I did.

My usual morning strolls are in opposite direction- Walking street which looks completely different deserted in the morning than at midnight.

perhaps not everybody succumbs to the retail therapy on vacation

If you take a boy on vacation, they LOVE retail therapy . I'm finally getting out of Bangkok this weekend and headed to Pattaya. Then in 2 weeks we are headed to Hanoi. I told him he only gets to shop in one city. He's Vietnamese so is going to wait for Hanoi shopping spree.

Agreed that it's a minor detail but any good writer of fiction should do careful research to enhance the authenticity of his story.

LOL @ fiction. I wish I had the imagination to dream up these scenarios. Shall I just quit now while I'm ahead? I don't want to get heartburn over every minor detail that seems unbelievable to some of you folks.

It's like watching bareback porn; they warn you that it's only fantasy/for your home enjoyment only and you shouldn't do it in real life.  Same same here.
