Guest ronnie4you Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Did anyone catch the New Year festivities in Chinatown last night? Were there any? I hope to be in Bangkok the next time that Chinese New Year rolls around, but, if they don't have much of a celebration, well, it's back to Hong Kong. As it is, the husband and I joined family in Monterey Park, near Los Angeles, for a New Year's Eve banquet. It was quite fun. As we waited for our table, I noted the handsomest Chinese guy I have ever seen at one of the tables. As luck would have it, I got his seat after they left. The honor of occupying such a seat! Wow. But, Happy New Year to all of you. Did any of you celebrate? Quote
ChristianPFC Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I happened to be in Nakon Sawan for Chinese New Year celebrations (full week of celbrations), which was nice. No problem getting hotel, few other Farang. (I did not celebrate at all on 8th in Bangkok, but went to festival on 10th in Nakon Sawan.) Quote
1moRussian Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Translated a media release regarding CNY celebration today. It looks like it's 15 days long celebration and the 15th night is "lantern festival", quite a big event. This year it's 22nd February (was mentioned like Chinese kind of Valentine's Day) - so you can try your luck in 6 days Quote
Guest ronnie4you Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Thanks for the information. However, I was hoping to live vicariously as I am not currently in Bangkok. Quote
