V Club Price Increase

Recommended Posts

I just returned from an amusingly visit to V-Club. I informed the greeter that I wanted a one hour oil massage and then selected the massage guy. Just prior to the massage guy and I leaving the lounge area, the greeter said "the minimum tip for the boy is 1,500". The minimum tip price shown on their Internet site is 1,000.

After the massage I returned to the lounge area and looked at the plastic pricing menu. ADDED to the pricing menu were: "minimum tip soft massage 1000", "minimum tip Hard Core massage 1500". The greeter did not tell me about the two tear minimum tip system, he just stated 1,500.

I laughed to myself as I thought about the similar situation at Dream Boys during Halloween. There, they did not inform the customers of the increased drink prices until AFTER the customer was escorted to INSIDE the bar and seated; almost the same as V-Club.

The money hungry life in Thailand; you gotta love it - smile.

I'm trying to remember any Bar I ever entered in the USA where the drink prices were posted . Zero. If it is important then you ask someone or ask for a menu before you enter and sit down.

Soi Twillight and especially Dreamboys is famous for high and different day pricing.  So you ask and if you don't like the reply you move on.

In the past I have found most GoGo Bars on Soi Twilight will negotiate the price(at least sometimes) , with the notable exception of Dreamboys who to my knowledge have never done so.

At least V Club had a pricing menu !

Perhaps firecat69 you have not been to a massage place in Thailand or memory is failing you. Every message place I have visited in Thailand, without exception, has presented a pricing menu to me as soon as I entered the establishment. Obviously that was not done at my recent visit to V-club. Previously this was done there, but not today.

In the USA and other countries I have visited, when there is an increase or decrease in sale prices, the information is generally conspicuously posted or the customer is informed of the changes upon entering the establishment. Also this post is about the change in prices and not the daily or routine price.

By the way, price is important to everyone! When was the last time you bought an airline ticket; stayed at a hotel; bought a car or a pair of shoes, a shirt, a house, etc; ate at a restaurant or negotiated a financial contract WITHOUT knowing the price?

As Oprah once stated, she knows where every penny is going before it leaves her account. Indeed there is a lot of wisdom in her statement.

The greeter probably needed just one good look at you to know that you're hardcore. I'd feel flattered. ;)

More importantly though, how was the massage and how was the hardcore part? Worth the money or not?

My response was more about Bars.  True my recent experience about massage places is pretty limited but certainly I would ask for a menu when I waked in to determine if I had any intention of staying.

I generally like a King size bed for my massages so seldom go to places where cleanliness is variable and I have to climb 2 or 3 sets of stairs .

That said I will undoubtably give Prince a try on my next visit and the place mentioned in Pattaya where Vit works.  hehe

The place where Vit works requires climbing steps, without a hand rail on the right side as you ascend. One person wrote on another thread about even wheelchair people are assigned an upstairs room. Very funny, but point we'll taken. Concerning Vit, one can off him and easily get a short time room at the Copa or Ambiance hotel.

The Prince and Hero get an A+ for rooms being on the ground level. I can not recall any places in Pattaya with massage rooms on the ground floor.

Yes Alexx, having been to V-club several times, I am sure the greeter knew a lot about me. You know how the guys talk. The receptionist even greets me with my first name.

Pretty sure one of the massage places in Boyztown had rooms on the ground floor...maybe it was Copa massage?  It was a long time ago, so maybe my memory is failing, but seemed like it was ground floor.  If not, it surely was an elevator ride instead of stairs.

What is a "hardcore massage"?  Perhaps the additional 500Bt was for whips and handcuffs?

Not posting prices clearly visible outside is psychology. By going in and asking for price or menu, you have already half committed to that place. Even worse for markets without prices displayed: overcharging tourists!

(Jumping from bars to restaurants). Restaurants often have a menu outside so you can peruse it. Most Soi Twilight bars have price posted outside. I prefer places that have price clearly posted outside.

I was in Paradise massage two days ago (same building as Mosaic apartment, towards Tuk-Com, mixed gender staff), ground floor massage room, but only a curtain as separation to hallway.

I see incredible amount of whining on this forum. Guys, if you are on short holiday, do not waste your time, enjoy yourself and stop whining. It will not change the reality on the ground. What is the point? After all, 1000 or 1500, the difference is 12 Dollars in current exchange rate. I pay more for my laundry in US. As Hillary said, what difference does it make? Or perhaps it is generational and younger folks are incredibly mercantile?

4 days to go before leaving!. Another newbie question....I assume you have to pay cash at all the massage places? No credit card??

sure it's cash, how you can sweep your card through boy's crack in order to tip him with all that sweat and oil  there ?

Try to have exact change, best way to get big bill changed  are change counters  on BTS stations
