Moses Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Do they stay with you if you pay for multiple days? I'm going to Cambodia this year. Depends on what you call "stay with you" If it means "guides can travel with you" - then yes, most of them can do it (excl. Oh - guiding is his part time job, he works as guide only from Friday evening till Sunday evening). If you mean "sleep with you" then answer is "no" - separate bed is must, but they can stay not in your hotel but in 2-3 stars guesthouse nearby (you pay for room). Thank you for question. It reminds me reference which I got for publication just today from Bruce about his travel to Cambodia with Ya just a about week ago. Ya made plan of travel for Bruce, made all bookings and transportation and then had escort Bruce from Bangkok to Siem Reap and back to Bangkok: Just did my first trip to Cambodia and it was fantastic. Boonyawut was very organized and took all the organizational headaches out of my hand. He knew what was most important for my first trip and insured he gave me enough to want to come back. I would definitely recommend anyone use his service. review is published here http://siamroads.com/testimonials/ Quote

Guest whall Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I'm going to be looking to hire when I go to Siam Reap and Angkor wat..does the price on your site cover transportation there from hotel? He will take me around to the different temples? Quote
Moses Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I'm going to be looking to hire when I go to Siam Reap and Angkor wat..does the price on your site cover transportation there from hotel? He will take me around to the different temples? Price cover only guide's time, full day = 8 hours = $35, half day = 4 hours = $25, each extra hour = $5. Your additional expenses will be: car/tuk-tuk (usually $25/$15, $35/$25), pass to Angkor $20/$40/$60 1/3/7 days Angkor Archaeological Park is about 200 sq.km in size. It has over 100 main temples and sites. Some temples located in 50 km from Main Gate (for example Rolous group). Usually tours are organized in 2 circles - Small Circle (path is about 40 km, full day, from which half of day is for Angkor Wat) and Big Circle (about 100 km, full day) In addition to Small and Big circles I suggest to make additional side tours to woman's temple with amazing carving Banteay Srei Temple, visit Rolous group of temples (have been constructed in 350 year before Angkor), visit Tonle Sap lake (fantastic sunsets) and floating village. Evenings: Apsara show dance, Men's sauna and massage (gay), Barcode bar (gay). Normal busy tour will take 5 days/4 nights, and yes - guide can escort you all this time. Don't forget to take foot massage every evening after temples. vinapu, DivineMadman and ChristianPFC 3 Quote
Guest whall Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Thanks. I'll make note of this. Does March seen like a good month? Does Sareth know the history of the temples? In other words, will he just take me or will he go over the temples also. I'm doing a lot of research on my own, but wondering about that. Quote

As almost everywhere in South-East Asia March is start of the hot season. Best time is December - February: cool weather. Sareth is official guide, with license from govt, he pass exams in history and language, and do tests every year at time of renew of license, he has guiding experience over 5 years. You can discuss your travels plans with him and your travel will be 100% tailored up to your wishes. It is personal private service: no templates, no standard program, no groups. traveller123 Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Excellent! I can't wait. Whall, please take note of Moses's comment about March potentially being very hot (and humid) If you can avoid March, April and May as sightseeing would be exhausting. June to October is hot but cooler than March-May and you can get days with rain. If you can take Moses's recommendation of December - February Quote
vinapu Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 you can get days with rain. good excuse to those over-templed traveller123 1 Quote
Guest cdnmatt Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 If you can take Moses's recommendation of December - February Depends. Will be interesting to see what this year brings. Last year it was bloody cold. I remember seeing +6C register during the middle of the night at times. Quote
Moses Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Whall, please take note of Moses's comment about March potentially being very hot (and humid) March is still OK if you OK with +32C +36C and it isn't too humid - there are no sources for humid in Siem Reap. Beginning of March can be even called "end of cool season". But end of March and esp. April can be nightmare to visit temples: day time temperature easy may be +42C +45C in shadows with no wind. I just wrote some travel tips at next thread http://www.gaythailand.com/forums/topic/10498-september-in-thailand-and-cambodia-tips/page-3 DivineMadman 1 Quote

I remember seeing +6C register during the middle of the night at times. We live in Thailand but are only 4 hours by road from Siem Reap, in years gone by I have had three great holidays there over Christmas. I noticed the low temperatures this year in both Siem Reap and Luang Prabang in Laos, which was strange as we didnt experiance them here. I would have enjoyed digging out jeans and sweaters and cuddling even closer to my partner. Moses 1 Quote

Guest jones Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 I was reading another thread today when I saw Moses signature. It had a link to one of his sites for gay tour guides and companions to show others around. I think this is excellent and something that is really needed. When I travel to Brazil, I always try to find a guide that is gay that can interpret for me. Being in Thailand so much, it is easy for me and I don't need this service. But, if I had found the site on my first few trips, I'd have been happy to spend 30 USD on a good English speaking guide. For those that have not seen the site, it is: http://siamroads.com What is brazil like for boys compared to Thailand? I'm considering going there early February. Is it safe? I've heard a lot of robbery stories but then you can't believe everything you read. Quote
firecat69 Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Go to Boytoys.com and you will find volumes of information on Brazil. It is reasonably safe if you follow the rules set out by someone who has been there a 100 times without a problem. At the beginning of the Forum. Is it as safe as Thailand. Probably not but few places are. Most of your questions will be answered on that site . If you like skinny twinks stay in Thailand especially if your trip will be short and you don't have a month to search. Quote
