TotallyOz Posted September 25, 2017 Author Posted September 25, 2017 it will be quite unprofessional ... I prefer to stay out of such questions with guys of SiamRoads But, it is professional to ask if they are gay? Really? As an employer you see the difference? Quote
forky123 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Siam Roads advertises as cute local guides and gay guides for your travel. Checking that your guides are therefore Gay is a reasonable question whereas their specific type is nothing to do with the job. In the west you couldn't ask such a question, however the jobs aren't in the west. Moses and Phet 2 Quote
Moses Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 But, it is professional to ask if they are gay? Really? As an employer you see the difference? Sure, it is professional question cuz we promise to clients of SiamRoads "gay companions" and "gay guides". Also I have to be sure what they know local gay scene and will be not shy to visit gay bars/clubs/saunas, what they know local conditions, traditions and rules in clubs, will be able translate without shyness client's chat with local boy. This is part of SiamRoads unique offer: "we know what our clients wants, we know where it is, we are the same, please talk with us straightforward". Mamasan in club must to know who are her boys cuz she sells their bodies. Siamroads doesn't sell bodies, so question about guys preferences is out of my interests applicable for site. I have BF, so I don't want to ask it for myself also. Aux1010, vinapu and ChristianPFC 3 Quote
forky123 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Just as an addition. Having spent a few days with a guide in Bangkok on my first visit and visited various clubs/shows, he was able to tell me which of the guys on stage were tops, bottoms, etc which was really helpful at the time. His presence also acted as a buffer against the more pushy Mamasan which I didn't truly appreciate until my first solo visit to Screwboys. ChristianPFC 1 Quote

I guess I just have a hard time seeing the distinction. I think OK to ask in Thailand. A gay boy won't be offended. And, you don't always need a gay boy to know the gay scene well. I know this all too well. Quote
Moses Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Yes, they are in Thailand. You spoke about Max. Max is in Vietnam. And I doubt what you met him "on other sites". Think chances are about zero. Quote
forky123 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Whether they are or aren't is immaterial and, quite frankly, no one's business but their own. If you speak to them yourself when you book a guide I doubt they will have a problem answering your questions, after all they may ask you the same when taking you round the gay bars so they can take you to the right places. It still doesn't mean it's something for Siam Roads to answer, even if they do know. ChristianPFC 1 Quote

It still doesn't mean it's something for Siam Roads to answer, even if they do know. My best tour guide in Brazil was not a money boy. He was just a nice lad that spoke good English and wasn't afraid to tell the sauna guys what I wanted. My best tour guide in Thailand was straight and knew all the gay scenes, etc. You don't need to be gay to know these things. Would you agree with that? Or, would you say that only a gay guy knows this? Quote
forky123 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 I'm sure that someone straight can understand the gay scene, especially so since so many of the money boys aren't gay. Would you expect the straight guide's employer to ask him whether his wife prefers missionary or doggy? Or would you think that's not something an employer should be asking? Quote
Alexx Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Michael, I remember that you brought that up before. You seem to be somewhat obsessed with these guys for whatever reason. Sexual services are outside the scope of what Siam Roads offers, but why does it concern you what arrangements these guys make otherwise? Either on an app or as an add-on negotiated in person? I can't say I find it either surprising or inappropriate if and when that happens. ChristianPFC and vinapu 2 Quote

Popular Post DivineMadman Posted September 25, 2017 Popular Post Posted September 25, 2017 I think the idea of Siam Roads is great and I'm happy it's doing well. Having a gay guide for tourist activities and/or nightlife/scene is wonderful. It may well be that straight guys could do it just as well, but it's also nice to give the work to guys who self-identify as gay and some customers may just be happy knowing that their guide self-identifies as gay. Community. "Gay Owned and Operated" is a perfectly legit thing to say. When asked a question about a particular guide's role/preference, I think the answer should not be whether it was or is ever appropriate for Moses to ask, but rather to answer simply that it's not relevant. It's not an escort agency in disguise. Moses and the guides should be entitled operate in the way they want: as professional trained guides. Top/Bottom/Verse -- there's no need to go into that because the minute it becomes the topic then the idea of Siam Roads just seems to evaporate, and it becomes an escort marketing gimmick. So I say let Siam Roads exist in it's bubble where the guides are just guides. It's a nice bubble. It also seems irrelevant to me what a guide may have done in the past or may do in his spare time, whether for free or for pay or on the apps or as member of furry cosplay sex club -- or whatever. The deal they have and Moses has with them is that as far as Siam Roads is concerned, they are professional guides only. I'm a fan of what Moses and the guys are doing. It's a great gay positive idea and a great opportunity for the guides. We should respect that. #thisiswhywecan'thavegoodthings GWMinUS, Phet, vinapu and 7 others 10 Quote
santosh108 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 In March I spent ten days in Siem Reap and for two of those days I used the services of Sareth of Siam Roads. We had a most delightful time. He was very knowledgeable, very fluent in English, a lot of fun and witty, and gay which made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. We had a most delightful time and I thoroughly enjoyed his company as a tour guide. It felt really nice to meet him and I felt good that the money I was spending was going to help support such a wonderful, kind and nice person. I wish Moses the best with Siam Roads. It is a win-win situation for all involved! Moses, DivineMadman and vinapu 3 Quote
Popular Post ggobkk Posted September 26, 2017 Popular Post Posted September 26, 2017 In the past two years, I've used Siam Roads guides in Bangkok (3 times), Laos, Chiang Mai, and Pattaya. I will use them again on future trips to explore Vietnam and Myanmar. They have been professional and always knowledgeable. They have shown me around gay clubs and gogos - it is a comfortable way to be introduced to places that were new to me. I've returned on my own to many of the places armed with the previously guided entires. As to their personal lives outside of being their being gay, I might know who is a student, who works in software, etc. But I've not been approached for "extra" services. These guys have come together to earn a living, Moses deserves a lot of credit for keeping up their website and supporting them. vinapu, traveller123, santosh108 and 2 others 5 Quote

vinapu Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 In March I spent ten days in Siem Reap and for two of those days I used the services of Sareth of Siam Roads. I second that. Last Dec he was my guide for just a day but helped me to arrange car with driver to some remote temples which would be time consuming to do while there ( I did some asking while so I know ). Also ensured me that driver is gay friendly so when I took boy with me to one of those trips I did not need to explain anything. Quote
Moses Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 this would be to haste and unfair. The way how SiamRoads works gives protection to boys: they have licenses and can't be blackmailed, also they can openly report sexual harassment/assaulting to police and don't afraid accusation in prostitution. Sexual services are outside the scope of what Siam Roads offers, but why does it concern you what arrangements these guys make otherwise? Either on an app or as an add-on negotiated in person? I can't say I find it either surprising or inappropriate if and when that happens. I am not obsessed with these boys in the least. Most (99% are not my type). I agree that most likely Siam Roads does not offer sexual services up front. Heck, I know people who ran escort agencies in the USA and they said the same thing. They were only selling time for companionship. Gay boys are gay boys. I hope they all make tons of money doing whatever they want for I think promoting them on this site and on SiamRoads is a good thing for them. I don't know why everyone gets so upset at my insinuations. I have been there and done that (or them). This is a site that talks about money boys and sex. What is the issue? Wrong, wrong and wrong. 1. It isn't my service, you call it again "your" but at third (I think) time I tell you: I'm owner of website and run it for guys, but it isn't "my service" 2. 5 guides in Thailand and 1 driver to 8 guides in another countries, where is "mostly in Thailand"? 3. And I will take this person from website at next 10 min after reading it. I don't want to be pimp. Again, same thing an escort agency would say in the USA. I see nothing wrong with it. Truly. But, as someone trained in the law, your statement about paying SiamRoads is a bit disingenuous. The extras always come on the side. It is kind of like taking a boy from BoyzBoyzBoyz and paying the mamasan a fee. What happens after is up to the adults. Right? We have great trust within the team. So I already know all "strange" stories. The way how SiamRoads works gives protection to boys: they have licenses and can't be blackmailed, also they can openly report sexual harassment/assaulting to police and don't afraid accusation in prostitution. Trust me, you do not know all the strange stories. I have none. But, if you think the boys tell you everything, I have some oceanfront property in Arizona I want to sell you. Not sure where blackmail and sexual harassment came up. I am glad you brought up prostitution and glad you protect them from accusations from others. That I respect. I hope you stand up for them in every situation they have as many of these boys need that guidance and support and if they have that in you, kudos. GWMinUS and ct2005 1 1 Quote
