  1. That's too difficult for me, I could make wild guesses about the continents. But as a teetotaller I want to take umbrage that the prices are wine/champagne. At least there is an alternative in money. (Teetotaller is not correct; I drink on average two litres of beer per year, but I don't drink any wine or champagne.)
  2. No. I am years behind the current developments in mobile phone technology. I am always amazed when I see the phones Thai moneyboys have. So I am roughly aware of what you are talking about. The last phone I bought was a Nokia 6210 (?) which was in early 2001. It's still in perfect working condition, but the screen has a low resolution so reading SMS is tedious. In 2009, I got a newer model (Samsung E720 ?, colour display and build-in camera) as a gift from a friend (there are people who get new phones every few years with their contracts), which will last (current estimate) well until 2015 or even longer.
  3. So far, I only knew "beat the monkey". I can't think of any German expressions verb-article-noun at the moment.
  4. (No vote - question to long/complex.) I dislike tight fitting trousers. But I like tight fitting shirts. I prefer tight fitting underwear (or rather exactly fitting, like a second skin or painted on the skin) over boxer shorts.
  5. Sorry, I don't get it. What is "pulling his pudding"?
  6. Christian; I am not so sure you are German but you write like an American? I like to read your posts. Does this make sense to you? I can't add to the the five same words in a sentence, but I like sentences like The soldier deserted his dessert in the desert. (The solider left his pudding in the Sahara.)
  7. I have a book about homophones in the English language. It contains a poem where many words are replaced by homophones. I don't have the book at hand, but a quick serch on the internet gave this: (the poem in the book was different from this) Finding a word replaced by its homophone is always a special delight for me. I found examples in real life for these: waste/waist, male/mail, peace/piece, semen/seaman, nose/knows and others to give so. a piece of one's mind to have one's peace of mind Let me use this occasion to thank LMTU, who has been an especially rich source in this regard.
  8. The former Bangkok Variety is now Bangkok Desire.
  9. There was a car crash in Germany, I remember the article in the newspaper because it went something like this: an illegal immigrant who drove drunk in a stolen car and overtook exceeding the speed limit crashed into a tank lorry. The tank lorry burned down and as this took plance on a bridge or under a bridge, the bridge was damaged and had to be replaced. The article mentioned that this was the most expensive car accident in Germany, but I don't remember the cost and the year it took place.

  11. In this context, in Thai language there is no punctation and no spaces between words. OnceIgotusedtoit itdidntposeanyproblemtome AndletsnotforgetpostsbyLMTUpostinghereasHeyGay whichareoftendifficulttodecipherwithpongspostsadistantsecond Crosswords are quite tricky for non-native speakers.
  12. Good to know! So I will wait a bit longer until I book my hotel rooms. Regarding hotel rooms: in July I was asked for the first time to give an address where I stay on the immigration card (before, I always left it blank, as I travel around). I have little personal experience in this matter, but read that booking hotel over the internet (I use agoda) is significantly cheaper than the walk-in price.
  13. I wanted to say the same.
  14. I can read at about 80% speed (compared to normal text). There are similar experiments, where the first and the last letter of a word are kept in their position and the letters between them are scrambled. This picture loosely fits the subject:
  15. Yes, the processing fee is a strange thing. Especially if it applies to all available forms of payment, they could add it right at the beginning. Even more strange is that different companies have different processing fees for the same method of payment. It's like if a supermarket has a fee for using the till to pay.
  16. The Concorde is half French, but I agree that it is unique amongst civilian aircrafts and looks beautiful. I regret that she is not in operation any more. I wouldn't call it design. The Harrier is as ugly as sin, totally misshapen. But she's designed to fly, not to be beautiful. I saw her on the Berlin-Schönefeld airshow (maybe 2006?), she can really fly backwards. A beautiful British aircraft it the Avro Vulcan (a bomber). I saw the flight of the only airworthy copy on the Farnborough airshow (I think 2008 or 2009).
  17. I expressed myself ambiguously. The last picture of my previous post, on the side the top of the underwear (waisteband) is ok, but the bottom is too low, i.e. the underwear is too broad at the side. About 5cm on the side is optimum, but there are cases where much broader looks good as well. Fortunately, the majority of underwear worn in Thailand is to my taste and if not, there is a simple solution: take it off! The second picure in my previous post is from simonlover83 blog, posted in march 2011 (in case you want to check there for location).
  18. Interference from German. I mean Justme writes without spending spending much time thinking about it before he writes and without spending time to check and correct after he writes.
  19. Now that the thread completely went on to discuss underwear and swimmwear (not that this would be a bad thing to do!), let me add my two cent. I have an undwear (or swimmwear) fetish, so this is an important subject. I have been collecting thoughts on underwear (and pictures) for a long time, but still didn't come to a conclusion. But I have to start somewhere. I don't like the cut of all the aqux, arena, dasics and speedo displayed in the pictures from the Gay Pride Taiwan. Fortunately, I like most of the underwear Thai boys wear (Calvin Klein, aussibum, Gabriel Homme). I think the cut of aqux, arena, dasics, speedo corroborate the saying that Asians have small dicks. Look at this picture. Is there anything in this swimmwear? I don't like low cuts. On the front, no pubic hair should be visible, on the back, no butt crack. Even though no pubic hair is visible, this one is too low for my taste: All these aqux, arena, dasics, speedo have a cut that forms more or less a horizontal bar, I prefer a style that could be described as T-sized: (in addition, I like it when the seams and rims have a different colour) Even though I am not a size queen, you should at least be able to see that there is somthing in the underwear: Here an example for a perfect fit on the but (not to large, not to small): Here an example for a perfect fit on front, however on the side it is too low for my taste: I like broad waistebands. I dislike all kinds of zipper, buckle and even the strings to change the size around the waist.
  20. I quite like that idea. The toilets are not used most time of the flight (on short flights I don't need a toilet on a plane, from Europe to Thailand I usually use it once or twice, but there I sometimes have to wait). I would not mind paying for the toilet, if the tickets are cheaper this way, and they will because more people fit in a plane. Of course, they could just keep the money and not lower the ticket prices. I flew with Ryanair several times and I can't complain.
  21. Sure, you can charge up German bombings against Allied bombings, but my point is that Hitler did not get a Nobel Price and Churchill did. I once read an article about the Bengal famine of 1943 that largely blamed Churchill for the death of up to 4 million Indians. Checking on wikipedia, they cite him http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bengal_famine_of_1943 Whis displays the same attitude as Marie Antoinette (People have no bread? Why don't they eat cake?) Quick check on wikipedia: One might argue that human failings have nothing to do with being awarded a Nobel Price in Literature. Another example is Erwin Schrödinger (Nobel Prize in Physics in 1933) who designed a thought experiment where a cat dies or lives die depending on radiaocative decay. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schr%C3%B6dinger%27s_cat Even as a thought experiment, unacceptable to me!
  22. The mystery is solved! Whereas Justme writes like it flows out of his feather, DaBoss spends time to think about his posts and to correct spelling, so he revealed on SGT.
  23. Thaiworthy, I read this joke with your ending as well. Circumcision is handed down generations like a religion. It's done to sons because it was done do their fathers. If parents believe in religion A, they will teach their children to believe in religion A. Cases where adults adopt an religion or have a circiumcision without medical need are probably very rare. I'm just lucky to be born in a largely atheistic area where no circumcions are performed, otherwise I might support circumcision and belong to a religion.
  24. I wouldn't believe that DaBoss is JustMe, but he disclosed this information himself on SGT, so I assume it's true. What surprises me is that DaBoss' English is devoid of mistakes (at least I didn't find any), whereas JustMe makes a lot of mistakes (and not just typos).
  25. The sauna was flooded in August, but I just read on gayinchiangmai that they cleaned it up after the water went away.
