I was in Sukhumvit 11 last Thursday (15.08.2013). I had an appointment for dinner with a friend, but she had work commitments that lasted longer than expected. Fortunately, in Sukhumvit, entertainment is not far away, and Hero was on my place of places to visit. I arrived about 10 pm, about 20 boys left. I can see the attraction Hero has to many, but there was none who was my type. So I just had a drink. I will check again at a busier time. But as you know, I watch my Baht, so Hero probably is not for me. They would have to provide an extraordinary service with absolutely gorgeous boys to justice the fees and tips. But first I would have to find a boy I like.

I am against tipping and prefer a system like in Japan (I only know it from reading in these threads, no personal experience). I only tip because I feel social pressure to do so, and I don't want to stick out negatively. However if someone asks for a tip he is likely to get none. I decide if and how much I tip, not you. I hand dinner with two Thai friends in a restaurant in my area (99.9 % Thai customers, and 0.1 % ChristianPFC) that amounted to 842 Baht. Having read that tipping is uncommon amongst Thais, I took all the change, but then one of my friends left a 20 Baht tip. tip (English) = pourboire (French, "for a drink") = Trinkgeld (German, "for a drink", even if a taxidriver you give "money for drink")

Totally agree with the op. As far as I know, this practice is outlawed in Europe. I vaguely remember places that just add 10% service or charge or 7% VAT (the other is already included), and I recently had a 5% service charge added at a self-service food court. But, now I know to look out for the small print on the bottom of the menu, so I can either eat there or not. I still disagree with this practice, and if I see 10% + 7% in the menue, I often leave in the hope to find another place. I vividly remember when I first became victim (or may the first time I checked the bill and realized what was going on) last year, I thought: What the fuck? Are you kidding/screwing me?

Happened to me a few times that back in my room, with better light, I thought "he looked better before". In case of moneyboys, full tip. For non-moneyboys, some excuse for not having sex. There was one boy from Saranrom (about 2 years ago) who had oozing pimples on his but. Maybe insect bites? No such a problem. Newer developments at Saranrom Park (details of my previous visits are posted on gaybuttonthai and SGT under "Plenty of Boys at Saranrom Park") After the attack I have been back twice, without taking a boy. Update on Super A On Monday 15.07.2013, I went again. The boys recognized me and only Bee interrupted playing with his mobile phone to say hello. There were two other customers that night (according to Bee), I was his only customer this month. Orange juice 150 Baht. Mamasan tried the trick with the 10 Baht coin (first time I encountered this), she hold it under her thumb on the tray and obviously thought I cannot add 100 + 100 + 20 + 20 Baht (my bill was 150+200+400=750 Baht, 250 Baht change on 1000 Baht). Didn’t work! I took Bee to the short time room above the bar. Again very satisfied, this time without love bite. He washed me in the shower, blotted me dry and even folded the underwear I brought for him to wear. During our interaction, I could not see any character flaws. This must be one of the elusive good boys blackbeard/jaafar sometimes writes about, the first (1) I encountered in four years of whoring through Bangkok, Pattaya and (to a lesser extend) Chiang Mai. I would say it depends where in Bangkok and Pattaya and at which time. I use buses (554 and 389, 34 + 134 Baht) and get from my room near Don Mueang into my hotel room in Jomtien Komplex in 4.0 hours on a Friday afternoon/evening. That's excellent value for money. You pay more than tenfold and save only two hours. Plus, there might be a cute boy in the bus (never happened so far, but it can happen, however not in a taxi!).

There is a piece of dog poo in the first picture, at the lower end in the middle. Both pictures look very much like Berlin. The bus in the second picture looks like the I one I have taken from/to Tegel airport recently.

I find it interesting that there are pairs of (proper) nouns and adjectives with different meanings: August (month) and august German (national, language) and germane (I think there was a third one I forgot.) Pizza Mama Dolores Rama 4 (all outside on the street) On Saturday, 03.08.2013, I went to Mama Dolores Pizza on Rama 4 road (next to McDonald’s on the corner to Silom). I had a pizza with spinach and extra cheese for 85 THB. With that location, I did not expect fine dining; the pizza came on a single use paper plate and was pre-cut. I didn’t get any cutlery, I had to use my fingers for eating. The pizza itself was ok, however I prefer thick dough, this was rather thin. On their board with the menu they have a typo in the Thai word for spinach, ผักขม is correct (I only found out because I had to look it up in the dictionary, elsewhere in them menu it is spelled correctly.) Verdict: cannot compare with Mama Dolores on Soi Yen Agat, but you can get a pizza cheap (from 60 Baht) and quick. Take away is available as well.

If you take a closer look at some tattoos on lo-so Thais, you will find that they are unprofessional, probably done by their friend, and can start at age 15 or even younger. I agree with your observation, the higher the education of the Thai I met, the fewer tattoos they had.

Correct, that's why I never say "never", I give an idea how many years it might take until I visit a certain bar again, e.g 5 to 10 years until I set foot again into Jupiter2002, Dreamboys or Tawan.

If memory serves right, on the floor below the cinema, i.e. the same floor where you buy the tickets, there is a shop (name something with "Candy") where they make sweets, with pictures or text in it. Interesting to watch.
