I don't count acting or singing or dancing as an achievement. I would be looking for scientists (I would approve of Marie Curie or Lise Meitner on a banknote), maybe politicians.
-
Firecat is right, and I thank him for correcting me. I often confuse these three: unacceptable (English), inakzeptabel (German), inacceptable (French).
-
Apart from those whose claim to fame is being a president's wife, I don't know any of the women mentioned in this thread. Let's face it, there are not that many women with outstanding political or scientific achievements.

I don't go to the bars to drink, I go to look at the boys (and hopefully off one). No matter what the drink price, no matter how long I stay, I buy one drink. In Pattaya, bars with show have similar drink prices as bars with show. Separating cover price and drink price just obfuscates matters.

LoveThailand: From street food to high end restaurants and everything in between - never had a bad meal there. I had very few bad meals, but that is out of thousands! My main complaint is tendons and bone splinters in Khao Pad Gai or Tom Kha Gai, inacceptable!

All 3 bars in Soi 6 open last night

If LMTU the Great was still with us, he could share stories! My activities are limited to checking out public toilets if they are on the way*, sometimes I spot someone else who is cruising, usually not. If I ever spot someone who is my type and interested, I would rather go to a room. *This month The Mall Bangkapi, Big C and Tesco Lotus On Nut, nothing.

No need to apologize. One of the few coherent, informative and easy to read post you have written, and I didn't even spot a typo (but I wasn't looking). Thanks for the warnings (smoking, drugs - not that I need to be warned of these things, I mean the involvement of the police). I haven't been to Full Moon party, it's not exactly my area of interest (I don't drink, smoke, sing or dance), but if all stars align I might go some day. Regarding gay activities, there was an advert in Thai recently on a gay chatroom in camfrog, about a tour to Full Moon Party (sorry, didn't read the details).

There is a scare monger at CFS (cruisingforsex). He seems to report places as closed on travelgayasia as well (I have been to several of those places, all still open!).

How about "anal(ly) receptive"? Mr Barnes must find something wrong with accepting adverts from venues that sell sex. I'm fine with these adverts, I'm even finer with the fact that they sell sex. I am not supportive of the article in question, my position can be described "wondering about the motives and purpose of the article". I agree with the points he makes (but those points are no surprise), but find the way it is wrapped up weird.
-
It's all true, reflects my multiple personal experience. I even know someone who drinks beer for breakfast and fits your article perfectly, but he does not participate in the forums. I know many gay tourists or expats who do not participate, not even read the forums. There is nothing wrong with taking adverts from venues that sell sex. I just checked the other gay magazines (Desire, Max, Thai Puan) and maps (GB guide and GM guide), they all do.

Stories about monks abusing minors or leading a luxury lifestyle (last year: jet-set monks with private jet and luxury handbags) are nothing new.

I believe boys would only steal cash. On the other hand, there was a theft of a watch in a massage parlor reported last year. I would not notice theft of cash (as long as enough to pay and tip and some more is left in my wallet), but I would notice theft of mobile phone. Bank/Credit cards and passport is of no value to the thief.

Not oversee; overlook is the right word.

I have never heard of Sea massage before. This is not the first time theft in a massage place is reported on the forums. I always leave my stuff (trousers, wallet, phone, sometimes passport) unattended in the massage room and never had anything missing (but then I don't know how much money exactly I have in my wallet and don't count, I would oversee a small theft). If boy stole mobile or passport, I would notice immediately; money, not so much. If I ever have money stolen, you will read about it!

I made a post which includes a long list of gay Asia related blogs: http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2015/02/gay-forums-blogs-guides-and-encounters.html

Most places are either massage or sauna, that they offer both is rare (I can only think of Chakran sauna with V-Club massage). Sri Bam Pen: Nuat Thai Hiso is clearly gay (one of their masseurs is cover boy on GB map Jan 2015 and they advertise in gay publications). Then there is Mai Thai, I am not sure about that. "Magic Hand by lady" is a no-brainer. Super A left the 2nd floor place and move to ground floor as a massage place, but converted back to gogo bar. Now it is a floor under and 20 m south of the old Super A. The label for Screw Boys should go on the east side of the soi. (Labels in Soi Twilight are completely mixed up, but whoever is looking for a particular venue will easily find it). Indeed Google has some wrong and outdated entries. I prefer street address in addition to just coordinates. Details on Fuse here: http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2014/10/fusion-pub-in-surawong.html In addition to above comments, take a look at other gay magazines and maps for information about gay venues (but treat with caution: they have the same problem like you). The point is: if you have to search the internet or use google street view to find these places or ask on the forum, you will always be a step behind.

There was a demonstration how massage oil damages condoms in G-Star Palace gay disco in Khon Kaen, as part of a bigger event promoting safe sex: http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2014/08/g-star-palace-khon-kaen.html. They inflated condoms (blow them up with air to over 5 liters volume) and rubbed massage oil on them, they ripped within seconds.

I had a look at the maps, first impression positive. You should separate (different symbols) massage and sauna, they are completely different businesses. Comments for Silom/Sathorn map: There are several massages in Soi Sri Bam Pen, Nuat Thai Hiso advertises to gay market. In Silom Soi 6 and 8 there is Montara massage and Thai Best massage (both missing in map). Super A is missing. The place labelled as "Hotmale Station" (late night disco, same owner as Hotmale gogo and beer bar) used to be at the corner to Super A, closed last year, and last name was Baan Na บ้านนา as far as I know. The Green massage (Surawong, about in front of Tarntawan Place Hotel) is missing. Screw boys is slightly misplaced and Dream Boy is seriously misplaced (maybe googlemaps messes these up; I just notice they have Anuman Ratchathon and Silom Soi 7 in the wrong place). Mantra massage มันตรา is missing (often overlooked, small stairway leading up, Surawong opposite Montien hotel open food court. Fuse in basement of Wall Street tower is missing. Playboy massage is missing, so is the massage place in Silom 64 building (don't know the name), and the massage (I think J-J massage) in the dead end soi (Silom Soi 1?) all on Silom under/next to BTS. Comments for introduction text: I don't know Club 9 Cafe and Blue and See Men (there is one in Chiang Mai), but Singapore Pub is now Wave Club and Seek is gone. DoorDum only open on weekends last time I checked (some months ago)

Do you remember the boy's number or name? The biggest cocks I have seen in real life from close are about 7 inch, and I'm still looking for the sometimes reported bigger cocks.

First congratulation that your magazine is the only one out of four that is distributed widely and on time in all gay venues I monitor. Maps and updating businesses is a general problem, not only Out in Thailand has outdated (meaning: incorrect, wrong) information. I was going to email you anyway about some mistakes in the maps that immediately sprung to my eyes (because I have been to these places recently) in January 2015 print edition: Bangkok Ramkhamhaeng: See K Dance Club is no more, Singapore Pub changed name to Wave Club about half a year ago and is slightly misplaced in map, Troy sauna is no more, "De Ja Vu" change to "Deja Vu" and is slightly misplaced in map, Crusing sauna is listed but not marked in the map, "IMA Spa Liberty Garden Hotel" might be "9 The Nine Spa" (don't confuse with a place in Sukhumvit with a similar name). A general note on maps: places in Silom area can be found by following the map, but venues in Ramkhamhaeng area or Chiang Mai cannot be found because resolution is insufficient (but low density of the venues does not warrant higher resolution). Addresses in English and Thai would be more helpful (cf. Chiang Mai gay guide, all addresses to print out on 2 A4 pages). I'm sad to see Darika go.
