  1. There is one opposite and one on the same side (jewelry and gemstones is their main business), past the Family Mart market at the corner. Both gave good rates whenever I used them. Their opening times are something like morning to 6 pm. Whenever I went to the bars, they were closed already.
  2. Possible infection is due to lack of sterile materials, it does not depend on the method used (bamboo versus steel). His tattoo artist phase was a year or two ago. Don't know if he is still doing it. (I just asked him on hornet and will report back.)
  3. April Fool's Day? In principle you are right, but I just imagined you* going to the next police station and bringing evidence and explaining your case, and once they understand, everyone is rolling on the floor with laughter! *You said it's not about you, but for brevity I will refer to you, replace by "someone" if you like. I think you wouldn't even get the case to court (unless you want to spend an extraordinary amount of money on everyone involved - after they had a good laugh!). The equivalent in Europe is not the case you cite, but going to police to report a jaywalker, and bringing your mother because she saw him too. If you are really interested, submit your question to stickmanweekly who will forward it to Sunbelt Asia's legal department who will give free advice. Robbery involves violence; the case you invent isn't stealing either, I would call it cheating or embezzlement or misappropriation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embezzlement
  4. It should be no problem to off a boy at most places, inquire details at the place or with the boy. Off-fee might be higher than in gogo bars. I once had massage at Playboy (Silom) and it was around midnight and the boy asked me if I want to join him for disco (meaning: if I would like to take him and pay for taxi and drinks). I hadn't been to that place, so I agreed. Details here http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2014/03/thai-straight-nightlife-tamnan.html When we said goodbye, he asked me if I could give him 1000 Baht for the shop (i.e. off fee). That came as a surprise, I tipped him 1000 for massage already, and thought it's end of shift, and he should have told me before, so he got only 500. That was my only personal experience; I vaguely remember reports by others that quote similar numbers.
  5. In real life it's great fun to sit with a friend in a bar and comment on the boys we see and compare our preferences. On the forums, I think it doesn't add value if people are drooling over pictures or disapprove of pictures. The last time I saw a pussy from close was in 1980 - when I was born.
  6. That's the first time I remember that someone asks for higher drink or entry price. When it comes to drinking, I feel the same, when I tour 3 or 4 bars in one night, I'm simply full after one glass of orange or pineapple juice in each bar (in bars I don't drink alcohol, rarely water, and coke or similar from bottle or can doesn't taste). But some bars offer tea, and I will have tea if that's on offer. (I have never been to The Venue so can't judge if 150 is fair or not, depends on number of customers a well. But a friend from Bangkok is a fan of their show, I might have a look some time.)
  7. I had this a few times. Wouldn't spend too much thought on it. There might be animosities between certain boys, boy A doesn't want boy B to see him with Farang C for whichever reasons. Just do what he wants as long as it's resonable and focus on more important things.
  8. I think 100 Baht is fine, and opposed to above post I think one of you should do all the tipping, and tip only once even if you are two. Talk with the boy? Bear in mind that the music might be loud (I simply refuse to have a conversation above the absolute minimum when it is too loud), he might not speak English well, and staff might pester you to to the boy or another off or buy more drinks. Sharing bottle of whisky is common and probably cheaper than individual drinks. (no personal experience) No-sex off has been discussed here recently: http://sawatdeenetwork.com/v4/showthread.php?17845-Bar-off-clothes-on There is room to save money, e.g. tell the boy to meet you after work to save the off fee and offer less than what's usually expected for short time sex.
  9. Recently, I was told no slip available at all. We are witnessing a major change, and you heard it here first, from me! I wonder if 7/11 sells 300 Baht phone credit and you pay 300 Baht, where do they make their money? Do they get it cheaper from the phone company? When I pay bills, 7/11 usually charges me 10 Baht. I did my first top-up at ATM, it worked! But you have to know your phone number, which I did not for my data SIM. For AIS, dial *545# to get your phone number.
  10. Long way from North Pattaya bus station (if coming from Ekkamai), close (about 1 km) from Thappraya bus station (bus 389 "sex tourist express" from Suwarnabhumi airport, see kokopelli). From North Pattaya bus station, I recommend songtheo (you have to change once or twice, maybe at Dolphin Roundabout and definitely at South Pattaya / Second Road intersection, total fare 20 or 30 Baht, mocy would be expensive and uncomfortable with luggage for such a long ride. For songtheo from North Pattaya bus station either pay around 50 Baht for the first part of trip when you board in bus station or walk across road and flag one down for 10 Baht.
  11. Related question: This year I will be in Thailand over Songkran 13.-15.04.2016 (2014 and 2015 I fled the country) and want to go to Bang Saeg (town with beach halfway between Bangkok and Pattaya) for their sand castle festival 16.-17.04.2016. The question is when to travel to Bang Saen. Before Songkran starts in Bangkok, that would be 5 days in Bang Saen, a bit too much. Or during Songkran, but how to get to Bang Saen without getting wet? (Bus from Rama 4 to Victory Monument or Ekkamai and then van or bus.) (Another problem is how to choose hotel, Bang Saen will be busy. Book online or make a daytrip to check promising places - location and price - and choose the best?)
  12. He seems to have tattoos พ่อ แม่ (father mother in Thai) on the front of his shoulders (very common tattoo, usually in this place), but they look like scars and not tattoos. Can anyone confirm?
  13. We haven't figured out yet if the 300 Baht minimum is set by 7/11 or phone company. Good idea, I will try family mart or elsewhere other than 7/11 to find out. I use Line for voice or video chat, in video often poor quality, voice is ok most of the time. Line is awful when it comes to back-up, I lost my entire chat history several times after logging out accidentally and logging in again (Line recognized the same phone as new device and there was no other choice than log in and lose all chat history). I have heard Whatsapp is much better, but have no personal experience.
  14. Thanks for your report, especially Pattaya bars, will help me next time I go. At the same spot, two years ago, at night, I almost got attacked by a dog. It was preparing to jump at me, only imaginary stone throwing kept it at a distance. I wonder if it's the same dog, and if it attacks Thai as well. Details here: http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2014/03/pattaya-10-12032014.html A friend recently got bitten, and for me it's only a question of time, hence I'm interested in details. Did the dog jump at you or bite your leg, and did it let go after one bite or did you defend yourself?
  15. I vaguely remember Fan Club closing being discussed on the boards, the reason was they wouldn't put up with harassment and money requests by police any more. Did Adonis give any reason?
  16. Reading a few trip reports should answer most of your questions and give you some more ideas. (Polite way to say: some of your questions have been discussed ad nauseam and others can't be answered without more detailed input.)
  17. The change was after we met. Recently, in Walking Street Pattaya, the same, cashier told me 100 Baht slips are sold out (scratch card can sell out, but the slip is generated at moment of transaction, I assume), so I took 100 Baht scratch card. For me no problem topping up three times a month 100 Baht or once per month 300 Baht. There are machines where you pay with coins, I guess they allow top up less than 50 Baht. Of course at the 7/11 counter you will not get "(7/11 or AIS) changed their system for mobile phone top-up by slip to a minimum amount of 300 Baht per transaction" from staff, but "finished", "sold out", "system error" or similar and draw your conclusions.
  18. To avoid confusion: your first two paragraphs refer to Singapore? For young Caucasian backpackers, go to Khao San. However they are not in underwear like the Thai boys in gogo bars. But southern Thailand beaches should provide that (from internet, I haven't been to a southern beach for long time)
  19. Probably serious. I had several boys who borrowed clothes and did not return them. One asked if he can have a cookie, but he didn't mean a single cookie, he wanted to take the whole bag home.
  20. I nursed one drink for almost 3 hours, but I didn't take any valuable space up in the bar, it was not that people were queuing to get in. At those prices, I could run a marathon in the Sahara on one drink. Hoewever you are right, the total amount Screw boys 300 + 500 + 1500 = 2300 or Soi Twilight 400 + 600 + 1500 = 2500 is not that different. At those prices, I have a one bar (and one drink-see top) per evening policy, whereas in Pattaya I might go to several bars. More choice of boys would have aggravated my indecisiveness. After that positive experience, I might even go to Soi Twilight (haggling over drink price is not my style, but at such outrageous prices it's appropriate. I wonder if off-fee is negotiable as well?) some day.
  21. 1moRussian: The 300 Baht was in Ubon Ratchathani, Sri Saket and Bangkok. Gaybutton: that was my personal experience in 4 branches, as describes in my previous post.
  22. I was not aware that first drink is 450 and subsequent 400 in Dream Boys, thanks. Went to Screw Boys yesterday (Thursday 17.03.2016) and stayed 19:55-22:45 (due to indecisiveness if and which boy to take). Drink price 300 Baht. Over 20 boys, good choice. Total 10 to 15 customers during my stay. Off fee 500, short time tip recommended 1500. Was happy with the boy I took. There we have the discrepancy: cheapest hi-so gogo bar (to separate Soi Twilight, Jupiter, Tawan and Screw Boys from Silom Soi 6 bars and Be-High in Saphan Kwai which are cheaper, but have poor selection), good choice of boys, but low number of customers whereas Dream Boys seems to be quite full according to reports (haven't been for years and will not while current price policy last).
  23. Thanks for your reports. Unnecessary (the tip to mamasan). I tip only one person, in that case it would be the boy. There are indeed buses that run all night, but at low frequency, can cause long waiting time. At night, taxi is the only sensible choice. As far as I know, the boys all live nearby their workplace, even the furthest away I know (Suan Phlu) is just 30 minutes walk from Surawong.
  24. On your way from where? Stay away from Silom for a chance of not getting wet. Beside getting wet, there will be long queues at MRT/BTS, no taxis available at all or inflated prices, queues to get into venues (in 2013 I had to wait with many others to get into Babylon sauna), I recommend going only walking distance, and even that can take when there is pedestrian traffic jam!
  25. Thanks for the report. The drink price in Dream Boys is 450 Baht?
