  1. As for places that you can't find or that might have moved: ask other people who are around. Speaking Thai helps, so does a picture of the shop or name written down in Thai. A while ago, it happened twice to me that I went to a sauna to find it closed (some out-of-the-way place with some time and money involved getting there), now I always call (preferably landline) to ask if they are open before I go to such places.
  2. In Pattaya, I pay 1000 for short time and used to pay 1500 for long time. quote from http://sawatdeenetwork.com/v4/showthread.php?18183-New-360-Bar-in-Pattaya/page4 Years ago, I used to pay 1500 for lt in Pattaya. But now I don't ask for st or lt, I see how it goes and if the boy wants to stay over night, that's great, and I might give 1200 if I have a generous day, otherwise it's 1000, same as for st. For reasons of prices, I have almost completely given up on Bangkok bars. The business model in girly bars is different, drink prices are lower than in boy bars, but tips are higher.
  3. Pong mixed up "buff" with "culture vulture" http://www.thefreedictionary.com/buff http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/culture-vulture
  4. Thank you very much for your candid report. Most reports on the forums are tinted positive, contrary to my experience which is a lot of duds and the rare occasional gem.

  6. That depends on what your interests are. It took me about two months (spread over several years) in Pattaya to go to all places I'm interested in, and some are worth going again after a few years. I lived in Bangkok for 3 years haven't been to half of the places I find interesting.
  7. Not sorry for being pedantic, the headline should be: "If the sex scene was less visible would you still come to Thailand?" Yes, absolutely. There is enough online and in saunas (there even for free, however no guaranty you get lucky). I wouldn't miss Soi Twilight at all (over the years, from frequently going to bars to frequently just passing through the soi to passing only if I have something else in the area). There would even be a bit of "Schadenfreude" if it closed, all those overpaid underperformers would be forced to do some real work. Pattaya would be a loss, I still enjoy a few trips per year with 5-10 gogo bar visits each trip.
  8. Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai in such a short time. Why such a hurry?
  9. The setting around the lake is nice and there are some very interesting temples in the province. I have been twice for sightseeing in 2014 (details see my blog) and the two different hotels I stayed in were "look for something nicer next time". http://christianpfc.blogspot.de/search/label/Roi%20Et
  10. You deserve praise for posting this here to attract English-speaking customers. The first two pictures load slowly and incompletely, and the prices are on the high side. 2000-3000 Baht outcall can be called outrageous, but I found similar prices elsewhere, so that seems to be what the market bears, or rather wishful thinking?
  11. Not necessarily. "head somewhere" means "go somewhere" http://www.idiomeanings.com/head-somewhere/ http://english.stackexchange.com/questions/211786/head-to-somewhere-vs-come-vs-go Or do you mean "vinapu is going to get head there?" as a variant of "give head"? That would be a different story.
  12. Two gay saunas in Hat Yai, details here: https://christianpfc.blogspot.de/2015/01/gay-saunas-in-hat-yai.html
  13. Try speech recognition, saves you all the typing, just check for homophones (words that sound the same, but are written differently, e.g. a speech recognition might write "may his soul rest in peace" as "may his sole rest in piece" and a spellcheck will not catch it).
  14. Apart from a few honest ones, they tell you what they think you want to hear and then find an excuse if they don't want to stay over night. Nowadays I don't discuss short time / long time, just take the boy and see how it goes and if I see benefit in long time, I will ask the boy if he wants to stay over night.
  15. "been in thailand for a bit less than 2 months...happend to me 2 weeks ago" that means you had 6 weeks of Thailand experience at that point? Unless you have other experience with South-East Asians, I recommend to take it slowly and don't make any commitments (move your friend in, financial support). Looking back, it took me several holidays in Thailand to get an idea what's going on dating-wise, and after 3 years of living here and speaking the language I still make gross misjudgements. Enjoy your 6 months, then go back to Australia and stay in contact with the man you have met, and come back to Thailand. You will be much wiser to judge your situation.
  16. A few times I entered groups activities in saunas that were nice, but due to dim light don't count as wild in my books. Otherwise, I prefer one-to-one. Note that description of wild activities usually have a lot of alcohol as prelude, which rules me out.
  17. Someone reported about Dr.Bear massage in Ratchada (extensive post, search if interested), but I haven't hear about similar service in Silom. I fantasize a lot, but have done only very little than could be called "wild".
  18. Great reports, keep them coming! I couldn't ask for more detail. But it should be "lie/lies" in all the following: I ask him to lay down to be comfortable. After all this I tell him to lay on his back, and I lay with him and look at him. he puts back his clothes on and lays back down. and many more (although "and I lay with him and look at him." can be saved by changing it to "and I lay with him and looked at him.") My memories are the opposite. When I eat something that contains chicken in Cambodia, there are usually bone splinters and cartilage. I very rarely have this in Thailand. Strangely, street food seems to be more expensive in Cambodia than in Thailand, average 2 USD versus 40 or 45 THB, but that might just be because I don't speak the language and don't know dishes and prices for Khmer food.
  19. In gogo and host bars, I now pay the exact amount, that avoids all waiting for return of change* and counting of change and tip expectations. In 7-Eleven or restaurants, I pay with 1000 Baht notes to get small change. *On Stickman, I read about a mamasan in a girly bar that was famous for just disappearing with the money and hiding for up to half an hour. Especially efficient when the customer has offed a girl and is eager to leave, he would not wait for long for a few 100 Baht change.
  20. Most saunas open around noon, but I guess there is little business in the afternoon (they get busy evening/night), except for maybe Babylon. Considering that the sex cinemas close in the evening, there might be afternoon activities, but these places don't have a customer basis that appeals to me, but a friend who goes often has interesting encounters.
  21. Someone posted a long list of fishing farms around Bangkok and Pattaya with pictures, on this forum, some months ago.
  22. Well, they just advertise as a bar, so don't go there and expect a brothel. Although with a bit of experience it should be not problem to the one or other boy to go with you. Similar for staff in massage places, you cannot expect them to deliver sexual services, although most will do if you approach this subject the right way. I had the same situation in 2014 (?) in Bangkok (Soi Twilight, Scorpion Bar). I found the boy of my dreams and asked about off-fee: the boy does not go with customers. His English was too poor to talk with him, so I asked two more staff: the boy does not go with customer. That did quite upset me at that time, never had this before, and it still is the only time, that I did not get the boy I wanted in a brothel (you could say that Scorpion just sells drinks, but the entire Soi is a brothel and I have not heard of boys working there not going with customers). I don't understand it either (people going to bars to drink; I can drink water, in my room, for free, no waste of time and money), but there are plenty of people who indeed go to a bar just to drink (whereas I go to look for someone to take home).
  23. The text is German and translates: "I can't read Japanese, but I understand this sign"
  24. Not every boy in host bars is offable. Scorpion bar in Soi Twilight (mainly Vietnamese) has a particular bad reputation (or is it just my own particular bad memory from around 2014 when I found the boy of my dreams there, to find out that he doesn't go with customers?). (In gogo bars, I always got the boy I wanted.)
  25. I communicate either in proper English or in Thai. Sometimes I correct my Thai friends, but usually I learn to understand their idiosyncratic use of English and leave it at that.
