  1. Thank you very much for your report, especially the various prices (drink, off fee; could you add short time expectation?) Fully agree. Before I take a seat and order, I take a close look from the door, and if number of boys is low or I don't like the way they are dressed, I leave.
  2. I would never make such a promise in the first place. However I have invited boys to day trips. The day before everything discussed and agreed on, then the morning of the day trip message or call the boy once I get up: no reply, same for follow-up calls or messages, finally I went alone. Happened several times. Now learnt when "yes" means "no". Anything that starts in the morning, it's best to keep the boy over night. This works both way. Did I frantically try to reach the boy, from waking up until the bus/train leaves, changing plans in between, finally realizing that he didn't mean what he said. Now I plan everything for the case the boy comes and for the case the boy doesn't come. Now when I meet someone who looks promising (with many boys I can say just after a few minutes that they are stupid and lazy, good for a fuck, but nothing more), I first test if there is efficient and reliable communication and if their space-time coordination works. Addendum: I followed boys' invitations a few times, only to find out he isn't at the place I'm going to meet him. With hindsight, you could argue if this was deception or wishful thinking on my part or a misunderstanding. Now I have learnt and plan my trips so even if the boys is not there, it won't be wasted. Summary: the OP is unbalanced, at least I have been on the receiving end of lies/misunderstandings many times, whereas I never promised anything I couldn't hold (Unless you interpret "See you next week" as a promise. It's short for "See you next week, if we are both free at the same time, and I'm thinking of you at the right moment and am not with someone else".) The situation is unsymmetrical: For the boy who does not get the trip to Bali/HK/Tokyo etc or invite him back to US/UK/Germany nothing is lost, however for the Farang who invites a boy and buys tickets and books hotels and the boy does not show up, or for the Farang who goes to visit the boy somewhere and it doesn't turn out as expected (had that as well: extensive writing and calling, and when we finally met rather cold reception) a lot of time and money is wasted.
  3. All. Only some of my boys, usually in underwear in my room or fully dressed outside. I take about 1000 pictures per month. About 20% of this is buses, timetables, information posted on platforms so when I look for a bus between A and B, I can go through my pictures. The problem with selfies is sun. Either I'm blinded by the sun, but my face is well illuminated, or I'm in the shade, then I'm in the dark and the attraction I'm standing in front of is well illuminated.
  4. If a Thai boy replies "yes" to whatever you say, it doesn't mean he agrees, it doesn't even mean he understood what you said, it just means he heard you.
  5. Gay scenes are comparable, but more venues in Saigon. I don't like the traffic (cars, only 3 ? bus lines) in PP. Saigon has an ample bus network and underground under construction. In PP, he will need own car or mocy or rely on taxis. Vietnamese boys are too pale for my taste, so PP wins for me for boys. But in general quality of living Saigon wins. (based one 3x3 days in PP and 2x3 days in Saigon within the last two years)
  6. I know this practice from Toy Boys (putting their cutest outside, I fell for it long ago and went inside, hoping they would be on stage; they might not even go with customer or demand above average tips), but for Vassa it is new to me.
  7. "Meantime I had promised Vit I would take him Long Time again tomorrow night and he wants to know if I will pay bar for him now. ... Check bin, 700 baht for LT barfine for tomorrow..." A bar fine of 700 Baht?

  9. Thank you very much for your report which I greatly enjoyed reading! The points raised by kokopelli have some merit, but should be discussed in a separate thread. As others have mentioned already, the police does not have to read the forum to know what's going on and to justify tea money. For me, the details provided are just right (although I am usually a bit less detailed in my reports). More power to you, and I wish you many more trips to Thailand with trip reports of this style.
  10. Sitting at Hotmale beer bar with a Farang friend recently and looking what is passing through the soi, I realize that the non-offable boy in 2013 was a turning point for me. Before I thought you can get fair deals, although expensive, but then slowly (only now I fully realize) dawned on me that they are just screwing me, grabbing as much money and providing as little in return as they (bars and boys) can get away with. Before I though the customer is king, they will accommodate my wishes (always reasonable, if a boy says he doesn't bottom I accept that), but charge me dearly. But then I realized I'm being fooled, and that's a huge insult to me. That event (boy does not want to go with me) eventually lead to me leaving the Soi Twilight scene (except for 2 or 3 visits per year with Farang friends who come for holiday) and taking all my business to Pattaya, online or even better look for free encounters.
  11. It would have never occurred to me to inform my Thai bank about a new passport. But as new passport is coming up, and bank book almost full, thanks for all the information shared in this thread. I will add my own experience when I try to get a new bank book with a new passport. Update: The passport I used to open my bank account was stolen in 2013, so I have already a new one without my bank knowing. Will try to get a new bank book at a branch near my current place without mentioning change of passport.
  12. Someone does not understand the decimal system. Would you rather have 100 or 1000 Baht? The difference is just a zero.
  13. I consider the floating markets tourist traps and wouldn't go again if you invited me. I consider the gogo bars in Bangkok way overpriced. Your numbers are correct, in Pattaya you can get everything for half. "One small question, do i need to buy alcoholic drink in the bars? Any minimum order? Or just tipping the gogoboy is fine?" You have to buy one drink to get in, doesn't have to be alcoholic (some places even have tea or coffee). No minimum order. Tipping up to you (If someone asks me for a tip, he won't get any). "Since im not looking for anal, do u think the tips is diff?" You pay for the time. There are reports of people taking the boys just for dinner or sightseeing, no sex, still full tip expected.
  14. I have the book and cherish it. Did you type the quote or did you get it somewhere digital? Now having walked the Silom area at night, I must say I am happy about the change. There are still 4 underwear shops left (that would be the only thing I would miss). Everything now on the side to the buildings, the sidewalk and side to street is free. Congratulations to cleaning it up and I hope it stays as it is.

  16. Now that's funny! I once had a boy ask me during foreplay if my mobile phone can be set up as a WiFi-hotspot and if I could do so so he can use my data connection to save money on internet. I understand the question, but made a sound pretending I did not understand. One of the many occasions on that encounter where I should have left. Whereas grammar questions could be a turn-on for me. I have an interest in languages and linguistics, and having learnt several foreign languages, I can apply the grammar I learnt for these languages on German and give German grammar advice.
  17. One of the first boys I met in Thailand had Pitbull Meet me in the hotel as ringtone; whenever I hear that song I think of him. Some other songs make me think of places where I heard them, or boys I connect them with, but don't recall details now. There is one catchy tune that I first heard in early 2016 that is played in disco, but I couldn't find the name! Even recorded it from disco on my phone to ask friends. And there are some songs, I wish I could close my ears as I can close my eyes, Sex Bomb for example.
  18. I like a simple layout, and here gaybutton is the winner by far. However if the question had been which I find the most interesting, or which I read first, or which I would chose if I could read only one, it would be sawatdeenetwork. I like the banter and some posters over there.
  19. I often do the same in my report. From context, I will immediately remember if N is Nin, Non, New, or Nop, but the reader will not know and it gives a bit more privacy. On the other hand, who is going to care? And the good ones I recommend to friends with similar tastes, no privacy at all. "He says 2000. This confirms what I’d already asked mamasan." They are trying to push short time to 2000 everywere around Surawong. The last boys I took were happy with 1500.
  20. PEBKAC (Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair) ID-10-T error (idiot error) If you want to know exactly, my internet connection is unreliable, and while it looked like connection was broken, it was still there, but I had to do something (clicking "send" again) to find out whether I have connection or not. I often bypass that corner by going through Ibis hotel. That reduces a T-junction with traffic from three sides to two simple crossings.
  21. Not just Silom market, market on Pratunam sidewalks is gone as well. And moving van stations from Victory monument worked, I had a look today and found vast, empty areas (wonder for how long they will stay empty and what will go in there). I appreciate the freedom to walk on a wide sidewalk, and not having to be in the slow train making its way between the stalls. Why on earth do you have to sell and buy clothes or souvenirs on the sidewalk?

  25. Yes. I have seen a room that costs 1500 THB (about 50 USD) per month in Ramkhamhaeng, very small (i.e. a single bed and a meter space on two sides) but livable. No aircon, shared bathroom and cold shower on floor. For 100 USD, you can get some comfort and space (by my standards) in the outskirts. In IT, your best bet would be to work online, i.e. location independent.
